I'd like to add a bit to this, 1) Evolve, yeah it's 1k XP (2k when it's a Pokédex register), but when you start grinding catches and start mass evolving with LE, the XP starts adding up. I've done around 10k evolutions which is approx. 20MLN XP. 2) Make tags for stuff that you want to max out, that you've powered up to lvl 40 and lvl 50, make tags for every GBL League. 3) Track your progress, this isn't really a tip that will make you better, but if you make progress, you will be motivated to grind even harder (or at least it worked for me). 4) Make a route that you will follow everytime you grind, you want it to have the most cluster spawns, have the most spawns in between them and have the most pokestops. You should also make multiple of them, shorter one, longer one. 5) Try to find a playstyle you enjoy the most and that you can follow, for example: Raider or Catch grinder or XP grinder etc. 6) Complete field research tasks, I know it sounds stupid, and that you probably do them, but do more of them, do as many as you can, they're a very underrated way of getting hundos, I've done around 12,5k of them, and I've gotten around 40 Hundos. The rate doesn't sound good, but trust me, the Hundos will pile up. 7) Plan ahead, not for like a week or a month, but YEARS. I'm already grinding medals just so I won't be stuck whenever they release new levels and there will be a medal task. 8) Friendship - try to fill your friendlist to the brim - cap on interactions everyday, both Opening and Sending gifts. You can raid/PvP for interactions as well - there's no cap on that, you can technically interact with your whole FL (friendlist), just by PvPing. Nickname the friends you want to interact with the most, with a • for example. 9) Rename your Pokémon - I personally have this system setup - • = Hundo, √ = Level 50, ~ = Level 40, ∆ = Shadow. If the Pokémon isn't a Hundo, I put it's IVs in the back of the name ex. ~∆Macha151512 - Level 40 shadow Machamp with 15/15/12 IVs. 10) It is important to have fun, if you don't like an event, don't play it. You don't have to push yourself, try to not get FOMO, I know it's easier to say than to actually do, but it's possible. --- I hope that these tips helped you with getting better at the game.

On April 8th 2018 I caught my 3rd shiny pokemon, it was a swablu. I had been playing since 2016 but didn't really care or understand IV's and this was back when IV's were done with descriptions instead of the 3 bar chart they use now. Flash forward to somewhere in 2020 when I realized that shiny swablu was actually a SHUNDO!!!! Had no idea I had a shundo for about a year and a half 🤣

Lmao I still purify. Would prefer a HUNDO than a 98% Shadow. I'm a trophy hunter mostly.

Literally the first thing he mentioned about not purifying shadow Pokémon hurts so bad 😭. I didn't know this a few years ago and i purified my near perfect iv Tyranitar...just because i thought getting that stat line to the max was the best choice... and the stat line was literally almost in the end so i purified it for no reason....😭

I never purify Pokemon due to shadows being more powerful, and because I prefer the shadow effect as opposed to the purified effect which I think looks dumb. Honestly prefer if there was no effect for a purified Pokemon, maybe just have the icon on the screen

Agree 100%. Except, I always purify or transfer. I am not a noob! But team Go Rocket has done this to these Pokemon, and they are "suffering." It seems against the spirit of the game to "rescue" them, only to leave them and use them that way. I know it's silly, but they look so much happier after they are purified! :) Besides, I'd rather have the hundo! All other tips were spot on! :)

Ya it literally makes us as bad as the games villains to basically keep them suffering to make them more powerful (the irony of him showing shadows mewtoo lol)

My biggest mistake is on Johto tour I transfered a 100% Swinub (saw in my dex) I usually am so good at checking for 4* pokemon, but in the heat of the I want to catch as much as possible moment I didn't, was so bummed out.

I can tell you now purify Shadow Pokemon is perfectly fine as long as they are Shadow Pokemon that you do not plan on actually using and you have a research mission to purify them. There's also the option of purifying them because you have a full list of Pokemon you can have and you need to make room, also only purifying them so that you can get more pokeballs for when capturing a Pokemon from team rocket.

Also, shadows are good for raids and other cpu, but when it's pvp, having that extra move can get you the win, especially when tricking your opponent.

10:00 Sometimes the rewards are randomly changed to all items or all stardust. It's not bad, last time it happened to me I got all Stardust and I got 4/5 of the rewards for a good chunk of Stardust.

I was scrolling into my KZread history today to see what my first video I ever watched was, when I saw your name pop up in 2017. It was a clash of clans video back from 2017. I didn't even play pokemon go at that time, and I had never even heard of you before. Crazy to think you would become one of my favorite youtubers down the road.

Its difficult for me to even do anything im only level 31 trying to reach 40 but and i haven't done big raids because I don't have the right good pokemons or friends on there so ive been trying to do everything solo

I think what you should always do is that if there’s something like a community day then mega evolve a pokemon with the type of that pokemon if you can because you can get extra candies catching a Pokémon with one of the types as the mega For example: if it’s something like aron community day, you can mega evolve a steelix or anything that’s a steel type

Hey, cool tips, but it helps if you explain WHY some things are. A lot of player's don't understand the numerical differences between a shadow boost (I think it's 20% damage?) and how relevant IV's actually are, since base stats are hidden in game. So it's great that shadow = good, but please tell us why! Just a good way to look at advice in general: explaining why to do something and not just telling someone to do it is a way to earn people's trust (and repeated viewership) as well as create a generally more knowledgeable and innovative player base.

A level 30 shadow 0-0-0 mewtwo does more damage then a level 50 15-15-15 normal mewtwo so please don't purify certain shadows

I haven’t done the math but I am pretty sure getting as many people as possible to good friends, deleting and then do the same with new people gives more exp than grinding all the days for best friends.

For XP, time egg hatches to events with double XP & add lucky egg. If you've time left on the egg do gifts & raids to add even more.

Very useful advice. My friend got me back into this game. I too started in 2016, but am far behind. I couldn't help but notice the "Blue Balls" Vaporeon.

5:39 I've learned this the hard way when I accidental transfered my Rhydon which was carrying me in battles at that time when I wanted to Appraise it. At least now I have my one and only Kyogre which is now carrying me lol. This was literally the last time I've seen a Rhydon or a Rhyhorn...

The only time you should purify pokemon is if you’re not gonna use it anytime soon because then you can add it to your purifier badge which will allow you to get more balls after a team go rocket battle

Sadly back in 2020 when i got my first shadow mewtwo, the ivs were 15,14,14 and i got too existed to get a hundo i purified it. I regret to this day

I rarely purify anymore and if I do it's a three star that's not that good for battles

I love doing PvP ❤️❤️✨. It's always good for Stardust and Potential Legendary encounter after rank 20 ❤️🐣

If they are purified you can get them off with a normal charged TM and if they are shadow you need a elite charged TM or a normal one during a takeover event

Got back into the game last summer, didn't know what shadows even were, but I got a 98 shadow swinub, and my only knowledge about them was that if you purify it, the IVs go up, so naturally, I purified it and regret it to this day

What I'm doing every week is saving up some friends and opening the all gifts with a lucky egg on. This season we're able to open 40 gifts/day. Dropping a lucky egg exactly 11:45pm I'm able to open 40 gifts before midnight and 40 after midnight, 80 in total. Becoming good friends with 80 trainers is like 480,000 XP! And becoming great friends is like 1,600,000 XP! I never did for ultra and best friends because they never open/send gifts when I need them. lol

How do you come across the good pokemon ? I keep getting nothing but weak pokemons.

Does quick catch work with raid Pokémon?

Similar to Hundo checking is to research what the good IVs of the Pokemon spawning. Some events can be great for the not so good Pokemon if you get IVs like 0/15/15 for GBL

I purify my pokemons every time because in lore they are in pain if not purified

I've been playing since 2016 and I'm still overwhelmed on how much multitasking you have to do to play this game efficiently. There's just too much to keep track of. I'm a hardcore gamer at heart but this is a big turn off for me and I just can't play this game casually. 😢

Whenever I get a task that says "power up a pokemon X many times", I always use low CP pokemon, to use the minimum amount of stardust.

Instead, keep the pokemon you want to power up tagged as such. Then use that dust towards them. Why waste even a small amount for nothing?

If you use auto rec knowing you’re going to raid a boss more than once, yous not a real one. Contribute to the team and help us all get through faster please. We get more balls and rewards that way lol
