I love this video! I always stay at the Bird in Hand Family Inn and it’s the best! And I agree with you - the ham balls at the restaurant are my favorite in Amish Country. You captured Bird in Hand perfectly in this video!

Our family absolutely loves everything the Bird-in-Hand has to offer all year! We have enjoyed every season during the many visits since finding this gem in 1974! Lancaster County is our home away from home!

Sooo several years ago, they kind of combined the Hot Air Balloon Festival with the 5K/Half Marathon Weekend. So I did see a few of those festivals but I have not seen one standing on its own. Thank you for your kind words! 😊👍

That’s great that the Old Village store will be open again. We use to live walking thru it, especially the old hardware store. We were last in the area at the beginning of December 2022. Also, Ruthie’s Coffee shop, inside the Farmer’s Market, has a great Holiday blend coffee.

I think you would a walk through in this new repurposed version. It’s beautiful! Great combo of new and old. You have done an outstanding job of showing off Bird-N-Hand. The video is informative and makes me want to go to Lancaster now! We really like the Farmer's Marker and want to check out The Bird-N-Hand hotel. We have not been to a show here but have looked at them before. Another wonderful video. Hi, I enjoyed your video. We like the both bakeries, the farmer’s market and also the Log Cabin Quilt shop. Another great place is Garden Path Soap. I go every time I visit and also order from Slyvia. She owns the store. My mom and I love the Greystone Mannor. We have stayed there many times. I have not been since the new owners have taken over. I am looking forward to trying the Bird In Hand Family Inn.

The best kept secret for lodging in Bird-in-Hand is Orchard Inn just outside of Bird-in-Hand on Harvest Road across Old Philadelphia Pike from Kaufmann’s Fruit Farm. The Inn has 13 rooms in the middle of an apple orchard with a beautiful view and a really nice gazebo with seating in front of the inn. If you like peace and quiet with birds singing and the occasional clip clop of horse’s hooves going by, this is the place for you. I’m coming in May and can’t wait.

@@ElleLiving Sure. I love BiH too for all of that. But when everything closes for the day, it’s nice to go back to peace and quiet. I also love to stop at Kauffman’s for their delicious apple cider which I take home and freeze. It’s better than any cider I have tasted, including the orchards here close to home. The BiH Fire Company auction is so interesting. At the close of the auction, they gather all the auction volunteers, mostly Amish, into the big food tent and feed them a meal. Before eating, they sing a h

@@ElleLiving Yes, the Lancaster County Carriage and Antique Auction to benefit the BiH fire company. I think most of the volunteers are Amish. They fill the huge food tent at the end of the auction to have their meal. Announcements are made thanking them for their hard work and also how many bidders they had over the two days. Then they sing a beautiful hymn before they eat. This year it’s June 29 - 30, 2023.

Dang what time were you in the Farmers market? I've never been in there without it being elbow to elbow people

Ha! I know it was so weird. Well, that was summer of 2020 and it was in the middle of the week around 9AM and Covid was keeping people away still I believe. So, yes, oddly empty.

This September will be the 8th year in a row (not counting 2020) that I’ve brought friends from Oklahoma to Lancaster!! We do the Bird in Hand 5K each year. We just walk it though I do have some runner friends, a couple who have done the half marathon too. I LOVE that weekend! Such a fun community time!! That’s the next time I will be in BIH. It’s my favorite weekend! 🥰🥰. My parents and family live in York County still so I go back often to see them 😊. Thanks again for commenting and being a part of this community 😉
