Years ago I used to get really nice clothing at TJMaxx. However, in recent years the quality has really gone downhill and I noticed that so much of what I was putting in my donation bags came from TJM. I quit buying clothing from there last year, I don't even look anymore. Most of the time if I'm there, I'm looking for something for my kitchen, new pillows or food. I don't buy anywhere close to what I used to in TJM pre-pandemic, it really has gone downhill.

Been shopping at Marshalls/TJMAXX for over 45 years. TJ's qualify has plumeted in recent years for clothing, shoes, belts, and handbags. I have some older items from each of these categories that are still beautiful. Still find some nice things for my home and pets.

I really enjoyed this video. I have drawn a lot of these conclusions for myself as well and I feel like you validated how I was thinking and feeling about TJMaxx. I didn't know about the replica bags though and I will watch that carefully at any discount store. I recently bought a Hot Tools curling iron there and when I got it home, the quality of the iron seemed inferior to my last Hot Tools purchase several years ago from a beauty supply store that catered to professionals. When I went to return it, they refused to take it back and said no returns on beauty. I've decided to stop shopping there, also since I just don't find clothing I love for the reasons you stated here.

The Runway section in Canada is always a mismatch of very random stuff, not at all merchandised well and I’ve never had any luck there. As for the designer bags, knowing that TJ regularly takes back worn/used/fake items in the clothing category, I would skip any super expensive purchases at TJMaxx. Buyer beware.

I cannot say for sure but from my experience with the Calvin Klein brands, they’re cheap… which makes me believe they’re dupes/replicas. I usually purchase CK UNDERWEAR AND BRAS AND HANDBAGS from Macy’s but when I saw the undergarments at TJ MAXX I grabbed them immediately since it was at least 50% cheaper. Only to find out after a couple of washes, they fell apart. Same with the handbag I purchased. It was 59.99…great deal compared to Macy’s but after a couple of months I had problems with the zipper and the inside was starting to fall apart. So moving forward, I will still b shopping there but I will be buying the cute inexpensive things without high hopes and leave any designer items alone. Just wanted you to know.

I am writing this as I’m sitting in my wildly comfortable, extremely durable, incredibly practical Yogalicious Lux 7/8 yoga pants. Been wearing these for YEARS and I will never trade these for those thin, no pocket other brands that cost upwards of $80. I have done really well with their activewear. Now, with that said, the quality finds are few and far between as many higher end brands don’t produce the same quantity and aren’t selling overstock to TJ Maxx. The in store shoe selection is cringe-worthy and cheap. It definitively saved my ass, though after my post Covid weight gain when I wasn’t going to pay full price for clothes that were 2 sizes larger than pre-Covid.
