Devil Sword Dante and Yamato are definitely the strongest Devil Arms in DMC Universe we've seen in current canon.

Absolutely. It allows for Dante to lock enemies in place while using stinger, it has a launcher and active crowd control tech. The DSD is flawed in only one way, and I might catch hate for this: it's ugly as Hell and it should've been the Devil Sword Rebellion instead.
The other reason for keeping Yamato as first weapon is that's its vergil primary weapon.
