So, some comments and list from a 42 year old German living in Sweden. Now this is something I like. Have done this with my dad once when paperhanging. Well, and with two of my best friends as well. I absolutely agree on nr 1. It's haunting, menacing, heavy (absolutely suiting the lyrics) and perfect in every sense. From the intro over one of my favourite moments in music history, Charlie kicking it off at 0:40, to Keith's solo. The harmonica. Everything. Very important: The phenomenal Merry Clayton!!!! I honestly don't know any song in history that could classify as better. In my book, at least. On the same level? Yes. Better? No. So, here is my list: 1. Gimme Shelter 2. Jumpin' Jack Flash 3. Good lists. Satisfaction is the best of all time for me. Gimme Shelter as both your number ones is a good choice. Used to listen to A-Z weekends of Stones. It was all good.

I was trying to put a list together. Then i read some other lists here. And realized it is impossible. The Stones have an endless catalog of great songs. Any one can be my favorite depending on what I'm feeling in that moment. Great episode, guys!!

Funny how people still say "I would have liked to see them years ago,but not now,they are too old!" Lol Love so many Stones songs, but seeing Keith play the opening riff to Gimme Shelter did induce a little smile on my face... Seen most of the big band's, and,are the Stones the greatest rock n roll band in the world? Fuck yeah!!! PS, Pete,the show was way too short! Great list on both sides. Fun watch and enjoyed fella's. Thank you. I use to work at a bar that had "Miss You" in the Jukebox. That thing pumped that tune out like no other song on the furniture. The way it sounded was out of the park. That whole album just mixed perfectly for a good jukebox in a small bar. Dance groove like no other tune

Gimme Shelter is my all time favorite Stone's tune, I would have given an honorable mention to Let It Bleed.

Time Waits for No One is my single favorite Stones song. I agree with Pete about the Taylor era being the best, and Some Girls also being great. I'm surprised I'm not seeing any mentions, even in the comments, of Waiting on a Friend or Beast of Burden.

Shattered is my favorite. I have 100 stones favorites. But shattered takes the cake

'70s era Stones are the BEST Stones IMHO. Which is why that period is so HEAVILY represented on my list. Well, I guess nearly a third are '80s tracks, which was a decide crappy era for the Stones, other the Emotional Rescue + Tattoo You. Also, I LOVE Keef songs! Hey Pete, I discover your channel a couple of days ago and I'm watching all the videos, I'm obsessed. :) But I have to point out that it's not true that Led Zeppeling outsold Rolling Stones, actually Rolling Stones sold almost 40,000,000 albums (in equivalent sales) more than Led Zeppeling. And the second most selling band after The Beatles is Queen (even before the movie came out). I know, it kinda sound strange for an American (not for me though, I'm european). It's years that I tried to find a reliable source for data about how much did rock music artists really sold because the wikipedia page is not really reliable (because they have whatever sources and mix phisical and digital sellings as the are equal and for some artists they didn't included the singles, and for others counted singles as albums, see for example Rihanna and Taylor Swift so high in the list), and RIAA information is limited to America (and sometimes unreliable too). I've found this great website about music industry analysis (mainly about selling figures), it's called chartmasters. It's a bit complex to find the information at the beginning because it's not very intuitive, but there are tons of pages for every studied artist. This is the list of best selling artists of all time (in equivalent album sales): chartmasters.org/2017/10/best-selling-artists-albums-and-singles-of-all-time/18/ Probably their figures are not 100% accurate either, but it's surely the most accurate and researched source I've found. Ps. Seems like advertising but I'm not working for them or knowing them or being a relative etc. I don't know them. :) I apologize for my English. Have a nice day.

I think what Pete probably meant is that Led Zep was outselling the Stones at the time when those albums were released. Led Zep also had bigger tours at the time.
