no doubt about it Billy that is probably one of the greatest vocal performances of Brad in my opinion..is it really a power ballad or just a classic hard-rock piece I've gone down the road a couple times with different people through the years on this one..starts off every power baladi but then it takes that turn towards the end with that great Hammond organ in the whole band rock'n out..

That summer of 1978, I pestered my local record store about when "Don't Look Back" would drop. One day, I walked in, the girl I had a major crush on saw me and pointed to the store's display without me saying a word. Just a cool memory.

Totally forgot Hitch a Ride and Let Me Take You Home Tonight, from the Debut LP, for honorable mentions. Hitch a Ride, being overlooked, possibly could of made your top 10? Also, overlooking the 4th release Walk On. Not to mention there were 2 previously unreleased songs, Tell Me and Higher Power, on the Greatest Hits album. At least Higher Power deserves honorable mention. Appears that this was a rushed list? Looks like the Ole Boston top 10 was not as easy as you thought! Boston's Debut was the first record I bought.

It all went downhill when that Kimberly Dahn joined and got a song on an album. That was as much a Boston song as Ozzy singing on REO Speedwagon.. Foreplay/ Longtime... That riff, that singing, that song... 😍👌 More than a feeling is number one on anyone's list. Its overplayed and over used.. But its more of a legacy than a song, if it comes on the radio it is instantly turned up and people love it.

Walk on was a decent album despite the fact they tried to do an album without Brad but went on tour with brad in support of the album, I believe Tom S. treated Boston as his bobby which explains why they barely put out a new album. Corporate America was sort of a mix bag. even the new original tunes on the greatest hits albums was kind of mah. Tell me was ok and higher power was not so great. their latest one I choose to pass after reading the bad review and heard some of the sample of the tracks.

Surrender To Me 9. A Man I'll Never Be 10. Amanda Honorable Mentions: Smokin, Something About You, Cool The Engines, We're Ready, Walk On, I Need Your Love
I have to say I love more than a feeling no matter how overplayed it is.
"A Man I'll Never Be" is number 1 for me.

no doubt about it Billy that is probably one of the greatest vocal performances of Brad in my opinion..is it really a power ballad or just a classic hard-rock piece I've gone down the road a couple times with different people through the years on this one..starts off every power baladi but then it takes that turn towards the end with that great Hammond organ in the whole band rock'n out..

Can't believe that 'Feelin' Satisfied' wasn't in the list somewhere. I love the riff and vocal harmonies in the chorus of that song.
That summer of 1978, I pestered my local record store about when "Don't Look Back" would drop. One day, I walked in, the girl I had a major crush on saw me and pointed to the store's display without me saying a word. Just a cool memory.

Something About You is a short, but truly amazing song. 1st album is arguably the greatest debut in rock history. Big statement, but arguable. Amanda is a truly beautiful ballad. Brad Delp is one of my all time favorite vocalists. RIP...
Let me take you home tonight!! Always loved that song
Feelin satisfied is my all time favorite by Boston. Rockin song!!

I always look at Boston similar to Bad Company. So many hits, yet never really brought up as HOFers. I think people consider it Corporate rock, which I always thought was a weird term because many bands in the HOF were pushed even more.
Favorite Boston song as well as favorite song of all time: More Than A Feeling Remaining favorite Boston songs in no special order: Peace of Mind Don’t Look Back Feelin’ Satisfied I Think I Like It Foreplay/Long Time Something About You Get Organ-ized/Get Reorgan-ized The Launch/Cool The Engines We Can Make It
1. More than a feeling 2. Something about you 3. Amanda 4. Feeling Satisfied 5. Rock and Roll Band 6. Cantcha Say 7. Peace of Mind 8. Don't Look Back 9. Foreplay long time 10. A Man I'll Never Be
Boston had a cool song called Television Politician that never got released. You can find it on you tube and 'collector's albums'.
Great list, but More than a Feeling, no matter how overplayed it is, it's truly one of the 10 greatest songs ever. Which of course, begs the question: How can a song be considered "overplayed", when we still listen to it religiously and we still love the durn thing? Cheers

As I just knew 4 songs from Boston. I take note of your top 10 to take a listen to the ones I don´t know.
1: something about you 2: Foreplay/longtime 3: more than a feeling 4: don’t look back 5: feeling satisfied 6: rock and roll band 7: higher power 8: peace of mind 9: livin for you 10: were ready
Great list out of so many good songs. I really dig the newer version of Higher Power as well. Probably the most heavy metal song they've made, as far as I know.
1.Peace Of Mind 2.Hitch A Ride 3.Rock And Roll Band 4.Something About You 5.More Than A Feeling 6.Amanda 7.Smokin’ 8.Foreplay / Long Time 9.Don’t Look Back 10.A Man I’ll Never Be
I like almost every song on the first three albums, but I'd have to put Hitch a Ride at number one because of those dual guitar solos after the vocals end. I highly recommend the Rick Beato breakdown of that song on his What Makes This Song Great series on KZread. It gave me more appreciation for the genius and musicianship of Tom Scholz.

Totally agree, Hitch a ride is number one for me too. Rick Beato's show is awesome, love the way he breaks down the songs and explains everything.
1. Foreplay/Long Time 2. More Than A Feeling 3. Smokin' 4. Amanda 5. Rock & Roll Band 6. Something About You 7. Don't Look Back 8. Let Me Take You Home Tonight 9. Peace Of Mind 10. Party
I saw Boston with my dad a few years ago in Vegas. They opened for Cheap Trick. Tommy DeCarlo is the lead singer.
Brad Delp was an amazing singer. It's hard for me to come up with a top ten, but I'll give it a shot. 1. Don't Look Back 2. Foreplay / Long Time 3. Peace of Mind 4. Feeling Satisfied 5. Party 6. Amanda 7. More Than A Feeling 8. Rock And Roll Band 9. Smokin' 10. A Man I'll Never Be.

Everyone has said it, but that first album is one of the greatest debut releases in music history. Foreplay / Long Time alone makes it worthwhile
Well, I was mostly right about your top 4. Figured you’d have Hitch A Ride up there though. Definitely top 2 or 3 for me, maybe #1. The solo is just insane and the verses are great. Such a good feel. I feel like the Walk On Medley is a severely underrated song as well. Would love to hear you review RTZ’s first album. I think its a better album and more Boston sounding than pretty much anything besides the first 2, maybe 3 albums
1 don’t look back 2 long time 3 piece of mind 4 more than a feeling 5 cool the engines 6 hitch a ride 7 rock and roll band 8 Amanda 9 feeling satisfied 10 smokin
5 - Let Me Take You Home Tonight 4 - More Than A Feeling 3 - Peace Of Mind 2 - Amanda 1 - Foreplay/Long Time
I'm only into the first three albums so here is my Top ten: 10.Don't Look Back 9.Feelin’ Satisfied 8.Can’tcha Say 7.Something About You 6.Hollyann 5.Foreplay/Long Time 4.Peace of Mind 3.Amanda 2.More than a Feeling 1.A Man I’ll Never Be

Hitch a Ride is my favorite
I read Scholz is writing music for the concerts than for a new album. It is what it is.
Why was the album Walk On completely omitted?
Actually, Pete, "Sail Away" is the only new song on Life Love & Hope that features Brad Delp. "Heaven on Earth" was sung by David Victor, and the title track was sung by their current lead singer Tommy DeCarlo. Tommy comes really close to replicating Brad's sound.
I got to see them 3 years ago. Tommy Decarlo sounded a lot like Brad Delp. And Tom Scholz, one of the more underrated musicians of all time in my opinion, played with a knee brace on and did not lose a beat

Thought I was the only one that liked Something About You.
You didn't include any honorable mentions from Walk On. I think Get Organ-ized/ Get Re-Organ-ized is an amazing instrumental.
Pete what about feelin satisfied from don't look back album a cracking tune. You can do what like, come on give your mind a ride!!!
Boston could have been a great Prog band. I think Tom wanted that, tried to bring it out and it worked well with a blend into the style of rock he developed.
Idea for a show Take both debut and dont look back and rank them. Its harder than it sounds.
Nothing from Walk On? That album had some epic riffage. Way better than the last 2 albums.
Any Boston Top 10 that doesn't "Hitch A Ride" just isn't legit. The closing guitar instrumental is almost if not mystical.

I have to agree. Major omission in my opinion. But hey, it’s all subjective.
You didnt get all from the debut....forgot Hitch a Ride and Let Me Take You Home Tonight.

Dreams is a good song. If you like Barry Goudreau, check out RTZ’s first album. Its as Boston sounding as Third Stage really
Used to Bad News so overlooked it’s embarrassing.
I was just listening to corporate america. The best song on that album IMO is one not written by Schulz. It's written by Fran Cosmo's son Anthony. Cryin' really catchy chorus kzread.info/dash/bejne/qHyNuriQoaaTh6g.html

I'm hearing a lot of that, as well as Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders...I don't see it, but hey, whatever! LOL
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Smokin' is all Scholz and Delp. None of the other guys are on that song.
They slice a minute out of More Than a Feeling in it's radio edit. Why? Don't touch great songs!
