I actually dislike physical confrontation, but after being bullied as a kid I made sure I took some real martial art training, because every man may be called upon to defend himself or his family at any give time in life. Nothing worse then seeing a dude who doesn’t have a clue how to throw a simple punch. Fitness is a big part of that as well, but what I have found is adjusting my self-defense and fitness readiness to my body as I get older with all of my short comings these days. Sucks but it is reality! Great video.😊

@ gud2go50: if you ain't running you ain't in shape! Oohra
As a young boy I spent most of my time in boy-scouts, which taught me a variety of skills, including navigation, medical, knotting, survival and leadership. And luckily enough I had a father who taught me basic necessary skills such as how to use tools or the maintenance of vehicles, plumbing, and appliances. But what I've noticed nowadays is the general lack of these skills in not only young men but people in general. Sure the use of these skills nowadays is few and far between, as i doubt i will get lost anytime soon or need to survive in the bush for multiple days. But I am a firm believer in being prepared for any situation that may arise. As I am slowly mastering my person, my current focus is becoming a master of my body and mind, using them to their full potential. Thank you for making this video, I hope it can help some of the younger generation as it has helped me.
Don't feel bad about not knowing everything, nobody knows everything, you're ahead of the curve by admitting that you don't know everything, that is the first step to learning about something, A prepper with just 3 of these is a long stretch because most of them live in a easy modern world. I'm more than satisfied with the skills I possess.

Thank you! I am not a man, but could improve on most,if not all, of these.
Looks like I figured out what I'm doing this summer. Hope this video comes in handy!
Love this video. I might add keeping a budget to the balancing and also add cooking in there somewhere. You may have addressed those but I think they are skills that are essential but often taken for granted and not focused on.
I agree 100% with you bro! The only tweak I would add, as it is now becoming personal experience for me is aging/arthritis or any number of disabilities that may stop you from being the top Alpha physically is gaining knowledge and using it to the best of your abilities to be the Alpha in the knowledge and wisdom side. Which leads into the biggest thing that all the list videos forget. The1st tool you need to learn how to use properly? Get your minds out of the gutter now. It's your brain. Not everyone imputs knowledge in the same way. And you need to work out what works for you and what doesn't and learn to sniff out BS. And if you can't learn what you need to learn from one person because it doesn't gell for you, thats perfectly OK but don't give up, whatever you want or need to learn there are so many different styles of teaching and information out there you will find one you can understand better. But if you look online you need to have ya BS senses honed my good man! And also don't neglect your teeth. Keep them maintained. Because the longer you leave it the more likely you will run into tooth issues sooner if you have to bug out or even go on a long stay off grid for fun. Ya don't want it ruined by a toothache bro. Love ya work mate, you give good vibes.
This is a real good video. 💯 You actually remind me of one of my coworkers! Hes a real cool dude. I appreciate this keep up the good work man!
this opened my eyes ngl. some of these things i really have to learn
I need to practice navigation and the medical/emergency skills.
I go to survival drills and jungle camps on a yearly basis with my friends so I know the basics of you said Currently improving on technology and physical strength
Totally true I brought the mechanic thing up to a friend the other day that spend a ton of money on getting brakes done, and I use to call my Jeep that was a stick shift the modern day anti-theft device, dads teach your sons these valuable skills like some of our fathers did for us, my wife knows more than a lot of men today and she’s a girly girl but very capable.
Nice video discusses important topic which is not discussed a lot on KZread or Social Medial Platforms. Keep Going👌👌🌹🌹
I loved the part of teaching people and sharing knowledge because knowledge increases by sharing and the opposite is true

Perfectly presented. Thank you. So many skills in life we (myself) all can work on. It's so much fun improving ourselves, and, at least for me anyway I love being pushed and challenged to be better in everything.
Good list- also, can you grow food, can you clean game, can you ask for help, can you identify your weaknesses..
The fire point made me break out in laughter as my friends and family have deemed me fire master because for over 10 years I’ve always been the one to start fires and keep them going sometimes for over a week on long expeditions but I 100% agree with all your points being 22 years old I’m happy I had my father, uncles, and grandfather who have all taught me to be a better man and hopefully better father and husband in the future

I 100% agree with this. I'm lacking in a few of these, but I'm defiantly working on what I can. I didn't have a father or any real male remodels growing up, so I'm a bit late to the party, but I started realizing how important this all is around the age of 20. I'm 26 now, and at the moment, working on fitness, hunting and survival, and leadership. The one I think I'm lacking in the most is technology, because I tend to actively avoid a lot of it and hate working with it, but I do know at some point I gotta start working on improving on that. I also really need to take some medical care lessons at some point here.

I'm a young man (24 y/o) born into generation z (unfortunately fortunate) and going through my school years I always wanted to take a shop class. I, along with my old man, where fairly upset when we found out they no longer offered it when I was going through high school. Still wish I could have done it, now I'm slowly learning how to do it out of my own pocket. Its expensive but it is fun. I find I stand apart from the rest of my age group, I don't have the same habits or interests, there is definitely a gap in discipline when I compare myself to the rest of them. I found a small group of dudes in my town that aline with values, interests, and skills. We all share some stuff and we have opposing skills as well but we help one another out when one of us knows something the others don't. They're some good lads and I'm happy I've met them. There is a few of us that are worth while, I haven't lost hope on us and I would urge the rest of the older generations to not loose hope either. There has always been and will always be room for improvement.

Preach brother preach!!! What it all really comes down to is THE WILLINGNESS TO LEARN! We aren't born with all the skills we need in life, but as intelligent humans we have the ability to learn. Unfortunately I see on a daily basis, men that don't know how to do a damn thing about a damn thing! Yet they aren't willing to learn anything either. They just want it all done for them or to just magically happen for them. You should never ever turn down an opportunity to learn something new even if you don't think you will need it anytime soon. Because 10 years down the road it could be something that you suddenly drastically need to know. We also live in an age with the interwebs and KZreads where there really is no excuse for not being able to learn how to do something. You could just about learn how to do brain surgery on the KZreads nowadays! Anyways, that's just my rant on men needing to be at least willing to learn how to be real men if they aren't already a real man, then they still should be learning more on top of that. Knowledge truly is power!
This is literally describing me… I’m a 68Whiskey in army… from Mississippi 😅 I dead ass qualify for all 10 with extras!
Thanks a lot for the video. I now have even more things to improve and I love it. Definitely will work on these before I marry.

Me realizing that I’m a lot more skilled than most. I can sail a ship, celestial navigate, orienteer on land with great speed, fly an airplane, build anything with wood, make a television/radios, hand make optics, make tools/machines, and way more. I worked my way through college as a security guard at a mental hospital and can subdue any size man to the point of humiliation. Only professional fighters have wrestled more. Speak English , French, Spanish, Morse code, and a few others. Can quote probably every significant historical figure that’s worth remembering. Handmake bicycles. I understand electricity, biology, science in general, am positively mindblowingly good at maths. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILL OF ALL IS HOLDING YOUR MOUTH RIGHT. SMILE AND DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO MAKE THE WORLD UPLIFTED. IF YOU AIN’T DOING THIS YOU’RE NOT A MAN, YOU’RE A BOY, and that includes uplifting people that are different than you, have a different religion/lifestyle/politic/blue hair/WHOMEVER. THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE MAN SKILL: HOLD UP THE WORLD WITH YOUR SMILE/ATTITUDE.

9:47 I use the sun to know the time of day and the direction of east and west. Using moss to know what’s north or south. If I’m lost I find a river or road and follow it until you find a town. Usually towns are made near a water source and roads lead to places.
For a hundred of thousands of years we gathered in tribes so we do not have to do all this by ourselves... But now we need to know all this...
Great video. Some important skills you identified that I can aquire or improve upon include: First aid; Talking to small groups; Mechanics and Trades among others. As you say, it can be a lifetime effort to get and improve some skills. I would like to point out that some skills augment or help the application or other skills to develop. for instance, communication skills such as talking in public, can help with confidence and teaching and thereby the learning of the other skills or by motivating a team and completing DIY projects.
It will seem a bit dated, but if you pick up an older (pre 1970s) Boy Scout Handbook, and you look at the requirements for the first four ranks (Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class) you'll get a pretty good idea of what skills were thought necessary for man to have. Basic first aid, fitness, meal prep, money management, knowledge of the plants and animals in your area, how to use a knife, axe, and rope to make temporary shelter, tables, bridges, whatever is needed. Basic swimming and water rescue. Knowledge of how far/ fast can you walk/run/swim. Everyone doesn't need to be an ironman athlete, but being able to accurately estimate "Can I realistically get from here to there and how long will it take me?" may get you out of a bad spot and for many, will keep them from getting into one in the first place (I really though I could make it) I'd also add on, in addition to knowing how to run a powerboat (outboard and console) know how to row a boat and paddle a canoe.
What a great video, congratulations Jason and a hug from Brazil! It's not just one of that coach guys that just wanna views and clips, but it's actually a really nice content. I believe that into the forest, camps all this kind of stuff, it's really good to improve a lot of those skills... Navegation, Survaving skills, Tools, First Aid and others... Really nice video, keep it going on!!

So informative video. Unfortunately I found that I have poor experience in every skill. Thank you for your work. Greetings from Russia.

Only one way to get better is to practice. Never too late
Crazy talking to animals is my favourite skill. I think i already acquired it with most kinds of birds and some mammals. Im training in understnding fishs and lizards.
Damn, you are like my twin ! I have done so many of the things you have said ! I have fixed just about everythng from cars, motorcycles, arv, boats, scooters, bicycles, and have learned (self taught ) them too. I have learned many languages as I feel I may need to communicate in times of trouble thereby saving my butt from a bad situation. One prime example is the Mexican language. There are so many migrants here now that I bave had many opportunities to talk to them and explain many American cultural habits. In turn they explain theirs as best they can I enjoy this very much. Dspecially on ghe holidays. Felis Navidad, Cinco demayo, and more. (Spelling may be off ) My skills are never ending. Now I am making knives from scratch, primative weapons (Atlatl and darts for it).It was a cool weapn & hunting tool way before the bow & arrow. I have also been repairing bicycles. (Keeping them from landfill ) and donating them to local churches. Flint knapping arrowheads is fun too. Even glass bottles turn out nicely. Leatherwork, jewelry. Wood, copper, beadwork, and so much more. I apologize for going on so long. Thanks so much for this video twin brother !

Awesome!
very good talk down to earth filled with common sense which I feel is greatly lacking in our present society. I had to laugh about lighting that fire. I attended a seminar at a state park and a park ranger who was teaching the class tried lighting a 3 to 4 inch log with a bic lighter. I finally had to go to my truck get my knife and show him how to baton a piece of wood down to get the fire lit.
The divorce rate would decline if women chose to communicate. “Lead follow or get outta the way” taught to midshipmen at Annapolis Naval Academy. Great video Jason!👍👍😁🇺🇸

It’s not the lack of communication. It’s just that they speak a different language.

That's exactly what I was going to say! Many women ( mine included) never say what they really mean and always take what I say and get a different meaning from it. She'll say "what do you mean by that"? I'll reply "exactly what I said". Many filter everything through an emotional filter. Most men speak through a logic filter. Which means saying exactly what they mean to say.
Keep uploading more content 😁, since modern men really need more knowledge when it comes to being men 💪🔥

You got it!!
Listening to understand is a skill most people will never get but it is valuable. Know what your bias, and be able to recognize cognitive biases.
