It really does go to show that the Mandela effect can be explained away by A) people doing things differently sometimes depending on the setting (live singing vs recording, theatre vs VHS/DVD, etc); B) people mistaking memories of parodies or other media inspired by the original ("Mirror mirror" being from Shrek), FOR the original ("Magic mirror" in the original); and C) frankly, the power that a group of people have over an individual when they all insist something is true, even if it isn't. I remember getting tricked by my parents when I was a kid - they swore we went to Disney World when we were really young kids, and even insisted I hugged MIckey. It didn't take long for me to "remember" the things they were describing.

The Tinkerbell was the old Disney DVD intro, the “mirror mirror” is in shrek, and the original snow white books, the monocle on the Monopoly man is actually on Mr. Peanut, another dude with a top hat and cane on popular branding, The Jiffy peanut butter is actually Jiffy pancake mix, The “of the world” in we are the champions comes from a Queen live performance, I have no idea why people though KitKat had a hyphen, I’ve never thought that and I’m unsure where that came from, and the forest gump one is probably just from us quoting it in a current tense situation so often.

It's utterly goddamn baffling to me that you can meet grown-ass adults who HONESTLY BELIEVE that of the two possibilities, "The universe changed and I remember the Before-Times" is MUCH more likely than "Human memory is infamously faulty (to the point where it's inadmissible in court) and fallible, the human psyche is susceptible to suggestion, and the reason so many people misremember something wrong the same way you do is because 7.5 billion is much larger than you think it is".

That's gotta be a joke. Grimm's fairy tales were translated to English for the first time in 1812, guaranteed more people had some version of those fairy tales read to them as children than have watched Shrek

The Tinkerbelle one is probably your memory combining the classic intro with an intro that was on some of the DVDs were she'd zip around, leaving fairy dust behind before displaying herself for a moment before zipping off again.

The like “Luke, I am your father” was used in the original cur of the film, later when they reprised the prequels they changed the line to “no, i am your father” which is why toys made before the reprised cut still say “luke, I am your father.”

About Forrest Gump. I bought it in my country (Norway) when it came out on DVD. And on the backside description it still says "Life is like a box of chocolates". Also have Interview with A Vampire (Now called interview with the vampire), and it says Interview with A Vampire (translated from Norwegian) as title. Bought these as soon as they got released back in the days. Try to look for foreign languages if you see mandela effects, see if they match up.

Forrest Gump one was wrong. His mum says "Life is like a....." and Forrest says "My momma always said life was like a....." so you can argue there's nothing Mandela about it 😂

No but everyone remembers that it was Forrest who says Life IS, so in that sense, the mandela effect is true on this one.

i remember the disney dvd fast play for the tinker bell one. it’s probably messing with my head and thinking about the castle one🧐

btw for the kit kit one, there used to be a dash but they removed it and changed the logo a bit

The Tinkerbell one was for Disney fast play not the Disney logo.😂

It also appeared in Disney normal DVDs, not just Fast Play

The tinkerbell one I'm pretty sure is as a result of the Disney movie dvds. (based on memory) They used to have an option of skipping past the trailers before you got to the dvd menu, and immediately preceding the menu was a little animation of Tinkerbell introducing a Disney-based logo before it moved onto the dvd menu. Given their popularity I think it's safe to assume a lot of people associated the brief sequence with Disney films in general

I am 17 and I remember it, but I always thought that the Tinkerbell intro was before my time.

The tinker bell intro used to happen on the video cassettes but once dvds came out Disney made changes as people started to spot subliminal messages

In one of the Aladdin sequels, the opening features Genie dressed as tinkerbell dotting the “i” with sparkle explosions. Maybe that’s what we remembered it from?

The tinker bell one is actually from whenever they would talk about the coming soon to dvd before the movie
