The episode "Snow Way Out". Near the end of the episode, Ash sits in front of a hole in an icy cave, and tells Pikachu to get inside the pokeball. Pikachu refuses, and the rest of Ash's pokemon huddles around him. Ash then says "We'll be cold together", as a tear runs down his face. In fact, this scene was such a heart warming tear jerker, it was also used in the Pikachu's Jukebox music video of "You Will Always Be My Best Friends". :')

Yeah those were good ones(made me jerk a few tears for sure)..Especially in OG Pokemon....(the Ash dying one always gets me..especially just the way it was set up and the music 🎶)...and of course when he seperates from Misty and Brock @ the end..

Pokemon wasn't just a cartoon it was an emotion. Every ep of Pokemon made us smile out of pure joy and made our eyes teary coz of the bittersweet moment. Pokemon is just so wholesome and a bunch of emotions.

@JT Watts I also found the episode where Dawn gives her Ambipom away to get it play ping pong was a very sad episode... the Ambipom was Ash's and started the Sinnoh anime with Ash, then became Dawn's then evolved... it wen't from battling to contests to pokemon ping pong... idk why nobody ever talks about this episode... there's also a flashback of Ambipom with Ash and Dawn.

Rachel Lillis(Misty's original voice actor) said that the episode when Misty leaves at the end of Johto was a hard episode for her to record because she loves the character so much and relates to how hard it is watching a friend have to leave, or move away.

For me the two saddest moments in Pokemon was when Jessy, James and Meowth attacked and used their bodies against the poachers and his tyranitar to protect Arbock and Weezing so they could flee with their new family, seeing how much emotional and physical pain the were willing to endure to protect them really showed their true self, their true hearths and how much they loved their pokemon. I wonder when will they realize they make better heroes then villains. The second moment was when Latios sacrificed himself for his sister Latias, his friends and an entire city and his spirit appeared before Latias to say goodbye to his sister. I think it was the first time we saw when of the heroes die in Pokemon, really brought me tears.

Ash, Misty and Brock parting their ways always gets me crying man. Feels like a part of my childhood ended there 😌😢 Best trio ❤️

No one's talking about Lucario and mystery of mew. That movie was all about deaths.

Well, Ash dies make me cry

I'm 27 and in tears. Not just because of these moments. But I miss those days a lot. Days where I didn't have to worry about anything and watched these characters and grew with them.

What, no "Charizard's Burning Ambitions?" That final scene always makes me feel like crying. Even though Charizard would come back to Ash's party from time to time, I find it to be just as sad as "Bye Bye, Butterfree."

There's also: Ash releasing Greninja to ensure Zygarde's safety Mallow confronting the spirit of her deceased mother Jessie's Mimikyu having a moment of humanity where it realizes its hatred against Pikachu is getting it nowhere.

I'm not gonna lie. But when I watched Pikachu's goodbye, I legit cried my eyes out. To this day, it still remains one of my favorite episodes of the series.

“Memories In the Mist”. That’s my favorite episode of Sun & Moon, but god damn it, I cry every single time. That episode is really bittersweet. Thankfully Mallow does reconcile with her mom’s spirit, but the last words Mallow ever said to her mom being “I hate you” is just absolutely gut wrenching. Also seeing Stoutland again was bittersweet because that just proves that, yes, even though it was never actually stated, Stoutland did die.

That time Pikachu started talking. Haven't laughed until I cried in a while.

Now that was an amazing scene that really tugged at my heartstrings as a longtime pokemon fan. Just showed you how deep their bond was from Ash's perspective. (Obviously it goes without saying Pikachu can't speak, but they have shown instances where Ash and Pikachu could completely understand one another and worked on the same wavelength).

I get emotional when Pryce finds his Piloswine trapped in ice 🥶 and comes to find that instead of having abandoned him it had left to get him help ❤️

Ash: *releases first catch in tear jerking moment* Me: *stores first catch in computer for all eternity without batting an eye*

I cried at the episode were James released his Cacnea, just because he was trying so hard to help his Cacnea learn Drain Punch, but had no success. So he had to give his Cacnea to Gardenia (the Sinnoh Grass Gym Leader) so she can help Cacnea learn Drain Punch; that made me cry because James wanted to keep his Cacnea so badly, but then realised that Cacnea would get stronger with someone else.

Pokemon will always be one of the greatest shows ever to air... The animation and writing.. The detail to the branched out stories.. The emotions.. It taught me alot as child.. perseverance, love, honor and above all friendship..

Well, actually,in the Japanese dub version,Ash never said he would return,he never said that he would return to get Pidgeot back,the English dubbers just decided to add that,I don't know why.

One of the biggest tear jerkers for me, was when Misty had to say goodbye to Togetic... So sad. Togetic thought of Misty like a Mother.

@@HarmonyOC He stayed to protect some Togepi that were part of a kingdom. When the kingdom got corrupted, it caused the Togepi to get sick. So Togetic stayed in the kingdom to make sure that something like that never happened again. The episode was called, "A Togepi Mirage."

Spoilers below Litten ends up evolving then tapu fini let's ash's friends meet there dead friends and relatives. Torracat (litten evolved form) gets to meet stoutland in the dead world but torracat never sees stoutland again

@@vivanyatodd5036 I literally just watched the episode and was balling my eyes out. They didn't actually show Stoutland passing away. Litten woke up and Stoutland was nowhere to be found (probably so he could die in peace alone). And Litten is left meowing in pain under the rain

Seeing Butterfree leave is sad, but combined with the opening theme makes me burst out crying, especially re-watching the episode years later

I remember watching these moments over 20 years ago. Even at 37, this list made me weep! Especially The Charmander and Butterfiee moments. Litten and Stoutland made me cry 😢 even more. Darn pokemon! Still a kid at heart!

I think we're due for a "Top 10 Best Team Rocket Episodes" or "Top 10 Team Rocket Moments that will make you Cry". Anyone else agree?

When charizard was stuck

I remember my twin brother and I both crying our eyes out when we watched "Pikachu's Goodbye" on VHS back when we were around five years old. That was always the saddest episode of Pokémon for me. I'm not saying there aren't plenty of other sad moments but for me this episode has a special place in my heart, especially since my twin and I both cried together watching it. I miss those days when he and I used to hang out all the time...

I've been rewatching the anime since pre summer during quarantine and I've just gotta say.. I've cheered, cried, and laughed during the rewatch. Even if the Pokemon Anime isn't considered as a real anime among the community, this show is not only special in its own way... but special in our hearts. I really respect the writers for bringing us such an impactful story. Gotta catch em all!

When I was a kid and I thought pickachu was going to leave ash I cried after seeing all the good moments that hey had together especially when he mentioned that he was his very first Pokemon

goodbye butterfree... there's no any moment which make my cry like this episode..

i love this video, ty, iv rewatched all of pokemon this year and its full of tears, beautiful series, considering some of its best scenes are done without dialogue lol, its incredible.

I literally cried a lot when litten's friend stoutland died, Ash misty and Brock separated they're ways, and when ash left alola

I cried when James left Chimeco and when Piplup broke down in Pikachu’s arms

I didn't think this video would make me tear up but the one that did it for me was the wheezing and arbok

When Ash sacrificed himself to protect Pikachu.

For me its also when James gives his Cacnea to Gardenia, when Jessie releases her Dustox, and when Ash releases Greninja.

James giving his Cacnea away made me cry like a baby.

Lots of the movies had really awesome and heartbreaking scenes as well. The goodbye scene from the Manaphy movie, the whole fight scene from the first Mewtwo movie and the flashback scenes inside the tree in the Lucario movie are some really heartbreaking scenes, way more heartbreaking than some of the mentions here

What a nostalgic video. I’ll always love Pokémon I haven’t messed with it in years but I still have all my cards in a container. What a powerful show and influence on the person I was at a young age growing up. I’m so glad I was born in a time of cartoon shows and movies. A lot of people dog on them as adults but I look at it as art created from the mind, It’s beautiful.

Now I remember as a child all that uneasiness that I felt and teared my eyes were those emotional grown-up moments. No doubt even now my eyes are itchy. It's amazing how an animated series can evoke so much of emotions out of us.

At the end of memories are made of bliss when piplup and pikachu are both crying when they have to say good bye to each other. Still makes me cry to this day

Same. It's past trainer looks just like Brock! and vice versa! So it's no wonder it wanted Brock to be her trainer, if not her thinking he was her trainer that finally came back. Brock gets a ninetales later on though but not sure if it's the same one from this clip.
