Number three is a great one of Masakelli (spelling? Sorry to lazy to look up) just exploding into the other guys space but very surgically. Getting 100% disc before any contact. Just beautiful.

bagamer13 and it could count as a foul, depends on how the referee sees it. But the defender was already under and Brodie's arm was fully stretched down there, doesn't seem like a foul to me. But its for the referee to decide that.

Pillow Force He had his hand/arm on the defender's shoulder before he even started jumping. Sadly, there's no way of telling how much pressure he was applying.

Pillow Force Thanks for the correction on the spelling, I knew that but I goofed. As for the play, Brodie had his hand on the other guy's shoulder before either one of them made a play on the disc. His arm prevented the defender from being able to jump straight up for the disc. So its a violation of the Principle of Verticality rule which allows a player the right to enter the space above them. At least, that's how I see it.

The first view of number one where it looks like they're both going to go up was interesting. How high is this defender's hand when he hits the disc. I'm guessing he's well above what would be the rim if this were basket ball. Look like he could just about jump into the basket.

number 6 seemed like a terrible throwing decision. Why punt it unless you have to?

labradoodleandpalz In the audl there are quarters determined by time. If time runs out you don't finish the point so they had to score immediately. That is why everyone was crowded in the endzone; they knew that they only had time for 1 throw.

ecmpave Oh I see. However that rule seems dumb. Why not let them play the point? I feel like the AUDL is trying to make ultimate more like the other commercialized sports. That rule, for example, seems to be designed to make ulti games more time-predictable. And worse, they have weird yardage penalties for fouls. In ultimate all fouls are non-intentional, so it goes against the spirit of the game and degrades the sport to give penalties for inevitable, incidental things. Also their observers are too involved. These are all aspects of sports like football that they are bringing in to ulti.
