Thank you! Love all your videos, so helpful, and thank you so much for the drills video, it’s awesome!!!
I stopped playing PB in Jan 2021 because it wasn’t fun anymore. The place I played got so competitive that it started turning ugly and depressing. So, I left. I plan on starting back soon at a totally different location that in the past seemed to get #10…have fun, and enjoy the game!

I have fun when I play against beginners and advanced players; I help new players and learn from advanced pros -- that is the rectitude of Pickleball.
I've watched dozens of pickleball videos and this was the most helpful one.
Thanks for the video; #2 and #3 are things that I really need to work on.
Appreciate you and thx for taking time to post videos. Im a newbie and need help
Played my first game yesterday - it was in a gym with multiple lines on the fall (because several sports played there) that confused me a bit. I was focused on just hitting the ball -not aiming at feet or downward trajectory. Looking forward to improving my game. Thanks for the straightforward tips.

#11 Figure out if you're doing this for recreation or competition, and play with the mentality for that endgame. Some people will play this sport to be in tournaments and win competitions. Others will play the sport for casual fun and keep the play going as long as possible, not worrying about points. You need to figure out which kind of group you're playing in, so that you don't end up being the fish out of water.

Thanks, Jordan. Your 10 tips are a great help to me. JORDAN'S PICKLEBALL TIPS ================================ Let not your sights be set on final bound, Nor sideline's grasp, give error some ground. Avoid the knees, don't attack the ball low, But could you target foes' feet, let your aim show? Your weaknesses, dear foe, must not be ignored, Embrace them, conquer them, and let strength be restored. To non-volley zone advance with each return, serving prowess, points earned, and the fire shall burn. Craft a third shot's drop, make returns less fierce, attack their weakness, and your strength shall pierce. When high balls beckon, strike with all your might, in joyous play, find bliss, and let fun take flight.

Welcome to pickleball! It's really hard to say without seeing you play and how you hit it. Definitely warm up before you play and stretch after. It could be you're gripping the paddle too tightly or swinging in a way that is putting too much strain on your elbow. I'd look into getting a lesson with a good local coach and having them take a look at your mechanics.

all basic common sense tips... all are correct, encouraging smart play will help you win, I'm thinking you could add IF you want to be aggressive ? do it when you are serving, IF you miss the shot, you won't lose the point, and if you are on defense, try to let your opponent make the mistake, and as you say, try to place the ball at their weakest spot. its a continuing learning game, learning your opponent and your own partner's play....

I have a question regarding the server position during a doubles game. Let’s say the score is 3 2 2 and team B faults and the server returns to Team A. Score is now 2 3 1. Which side does Team A Server 1 serve from? Left or right side? Is it based on an odd or even score that determines which side Sever 1 serves from?
@yomi_jeremy3964
Жыл бұрын
I think the even odd thing is only for singles. I believe in doubles , you always start from the right side.
@meyerhaus3189
Жыл бұрын
@@yomi_jeremy3964 this is what’s confusing. According to the rule book it says (under doubles) “4.B.6.a. At the start of each side out, service begins in the right/even serving area. 4.B.6.b. When the team’s score is even (0, 2, 4 ...), the team’s starting server’s correct position is at the right/even serving area. When the team’s score is odd (1, 3, 5...), the starting server’s correct position is at the left/odd court.
@Evilj82
Жыл бұрын
@@meyerhaus3189 well you don’t have to listen to me but that’s what I’ve read and observed and was just trying to answer your question.
@Evilj82
Жыл бұрын
@@meyerhaus3189 when the score is odd, the original starting server is on the left side, that’s correct , because they would have switched if they scored.
@primetimepickleball
Жыл бұрын
Team A Server 1 definitely serves from the right. Rule 4.B.6a is used to confirm that you have the correct player as server 1 on that side out. And you can only confirm that if you know who on your team started as the first server of the game. We didn’t get enough context in your example to know that. That might. be where you’re getting tripped up.
What paddles would you suggest for (1) a beginner, (2) intermediate, and (3) advanced?! Or maybe not the specific model but a brand or shape or thickness?
@primetimepickleball
11 ай бұрын
This is a big question and hard to answer in a few sentences but I'll do my best. #1 thing is to avoid wood paddles. They're heavy and have terrible feel. Go for one that's made of plastics and fiberglass which are generally referred to as composite. At least you'll get some feel with those. If you're intermediate or advanced, decide if you care more about power or control because there's generally a tradeoff when it comes to those two. You can get a lot of both in one paddle but they will typically all lean more one way than the other. For control, look through and try the thicker paddles, for power, look through and try the thinner paddles. If you hit with a lot of spin then look for a paddle that supports that which will generally be those with a carbon fiber face. If you don't hit with much spin then don't worry about that. Hope this helps.

I've played a little racket and paddle ball, hated tennis back in the day.....I was a skinny bone. Now I'm the opposite. Ran hurdles and sprints in college. CAN I DO THIS???

So many people are jumping in to pickleball after having been out of sports for a long time. The serve is underhand. Here is everything you need to know about how to play pickleball so that you're well informed when you get out there: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIqfj8VxhMepYps.html
So I have a question . I’m new but I’m decent. I play right handed with all my sports but I write and eat left handed. So I was doing blocking and dinking drills and noticed I’m horrible right handed , so I switched to the left hand and I was damn near perfect… my backhand is better left handed , forehand is good just less power… SOOO do I serve right handed then switch to lefty ? Or do I just learn how to serve lefty and go full left handed ???

Are the tennis players and badminton players better than the pickleball beginners?
@primetimepickleball

They do start at an advantage typically because they already know and can hit many of the strokes with just minor tweaks to make them work pickleball. Lots of great players have no previous racket or paddle experience so it's definitley not needed.
What is a 3rd-shot drop?
@primetimepickleball
2 жыл бұрын
A third shot drop is a soft shot hit from deeper in the court or at the baseline that is it gently hit with a target that is generally in or near the kitchen (non-volley zone). It's purpose is to help two players that are at the baseline (usually the serving team) get up to the non-volley zone when they are facing two players that are already at the net (usually the returning team). Search youtube for "third shot drop" and you will find tons of videos on the topic, including many that we have done. It is a very popular and necessary shot in pickleball. Hope that helps.
Ok the official rules says your paddle cant go past the no volley line on a volley. I see a bunch of examples of this happening. any clarification would be nice.
@primetimepickleball

It can't go past the non volley zone line and touch the court. If you're just reaching over the court then that's ok.
Non volley zone line is called the kitchen line
