Nakata, Mikiko, and Ringo Sheena actually did collab on the handover ceremony in Brazil. The visuals were SUPER Level 3-looking. But yeah, 100% agree. If the West didn’t have a stigma against “wacky jappy” shit and like non-English music, Perfume would be an international powerhouse. Nobody would ever care about Daft Punk again.

Agreed. If the creative directors don't have them somewhere in the opening or closing ceremonies, they are total blow it cases. Perfume is ready made for something like that because they perform some of the best technology forward, spectacle filled lives on the planet.

Nope, AKB48 is already confirmed to have been shot down by the committee. They said that they'd be too embarrassing to be used as a representative of Japan in front of the whole world.

Came back to this because the Olympics opening ceremony sucked.

You gotta give major props to the people who did the special effects and the lighting, as well as the girls for dancing in sync to it all. Let’s not forget that every artist performs at different venues, so the techs have their own unique sets for each song. It is a craft.

haha thanks. They are my favorite group. They are the most popular Japanese Techno-music group. Their performances and live shows are always packed with innovative technology from Japan.

Their production team is really creative, got to recognize that as well, very well put together concepts

I'm so happy to read the many coments about Perfume in foreign language. I can't understand all of them,but I can understand the fact that they love Perfume.

if there's a concert that I should not miss watching before I die, that would probably be Perfume's! gosh. props to the team behind these amazing girls. Everything is visually appealing and very coordinated!

Actually same. I was about to put Edge at number 1 but Party Maker platform looks really dangerous so I think it deserve number 1. But my all time favorite is still Edge

So glad you included the Spring of Life Summer Digest!!! Edge at Japan Night is also a favorite. Even if these aren't my top ten personal /favorite/ performances, I'll agree that you definitely made a really good list of all the most IMPRESSIVE performances in terms of technology and theatrics!! :)

Bruh Japanese perfume fans don’t know how lucky they are to have been in Tokyo dome with party maker playing and just every good song 😭 I WISH I WAS THERE IM SO JEALOUS 😭

Party Maker is awesome, but Edge (either the version here or the Right Isosceles Triangle version from the Triangle tour) will always be number 1.

Great list. 4th Tour in DOME LEVEL3 is probably my favorite live performance by them overall. Went bonkers first time I watched the whole thing.

Wow, they are still very creative and their synchronization is top level of the world. Ah, their new song presented in London this year was very cool taking many good aspects of 79-80th disco sound, might sound new to younger generation.LoLo

I add Negai as an honorable mention because it is the only live where Kashiyuka cries. Achan is such a crybaby in the group and Kashiyuka such icequeen. It's just rare to see her cry.

the reason I put PArty Maker at #1 is how dangerous it is. They have to dance in heels on a moving platform. The fences are barely above their knees

Personally, my most favorite and overwhelming Perfume's performance is FLASH on Kouhaku Uta Gassen. Just like the Spending All My Time, they use screen projecting technology that can heartbreak your heart. It's so AMAZING!

As someone who loves Perfume and the ESC equally it's impossible to tell the ESC to learn from anything. Depending on the hosting nation and the budget the quality will always change, and that's what's so charming about the ESC. Leave it alone and watch Perfume work their magic.

I cannot forget the joy I had when I first found out that 'Enter the sphere'performance at Tokyo dome. Such an eye opening visuals... I love them ♡

Edge is good and they can do it anytime if they want.. but party maker though.. they need a special three storey stage for that.. and we've seen it once only..

I'd like to mention my personal favourite - Polyrythmn @ Summer Sonic -- kzread.info/dash/bejne/oo6cuI-JhdPZkdY.html Sending All My Time was a nice intro but the crowd just goes nuts during Polyrythmn - the girls were visibly moved by it - even the Ice Queen Kashiyuka had a huge grin. Totally agree with #2 on your list BTW .. its my second favourite too - mostly for the dance performance.

I think Party Maker deserves the top spot because look at the platform they are dancing on. The fences are barely above their knees and they have to dance in heels. It looks scary as hell.
