Sounds like they might be afraid of bugs in general. I feel Golispod is more "nightmare fuel" with it's little legs near it's head. Beedrill is worse because I'm already very wary of bees and don't trust even the honey bees buzzing near me due to their size.

They should make a pokemon like that where it opens its mouth and it's like looking into a short tunnel with light on the other end which is its asshole. I think Giratina should have been on the list because Arceus itself banished it for its violent ways. Think about that for a moment: all of the Pokemon on the list can do and have done horrible things but they remain unbanished from the world, so whatever Giratina did was WORSE than what any of these Pokemon did.

Faba made Hypno creepy. Even the way he says "Sleeper" - Hypno's Japanese name - is somehow powerful and scary, making it out as a Pokemon you shouldn't take lightly. The animation during those episodes sold that creepy angle so hard. I never thought of Hypno as creepy before, just annoying to deal with in the games, despite its dex entries.

Way to disappoint the entire fandom, WatchMojo. Next time you make a Pokemon video, please consult someone who is actually a fan instead of picking "scary looking" ones. The true scary ones come from their Pokedex description. Those bug types in this video are not scary. You even forgot Giratina, who is literal SATAN in the Pokemon world.

Guzzlord also canonically ate a woman, leading to Nanu's depression in the current day. And Darkrai's more of a tragic case, since it can't control its own Gastly (I had to) defense mechanism. However, the one from Explorers is malevolent, orchestrating a time crash by causing Dialga to go insane and creating a bad future where he apparently rules from the shadows, intentionally sends a child into an unwaking nightmare, disguises himself as the goddess of dreams, Gresselia, and tries tricking the player and partner into offing themselves. (Of course, no death words are used, but it's very heavily implied.) Also, Gengar's honestly worse: it was once human and wants a friend, so it will try killing other humans. There's no escaping it. And its Mega curses others, including its own Trainer, with the intent being their deaths. It also doesn't care for anything besides prey. (Mega Dex entries are all genuinely terrifying. Or sad. Or both.) There's also Giratina, who makes itself known while Cyrus was attempting to reset the universe by showing up as this giant mass of black ichor with glowing red eyes and spikes, and taking Cyrus to the Pokemon equivalent of the netherworld, all while screeching and jumpscaring the player. It was also banished for its violence. Palossand also absorbs its victims life energy by pulling its victims underneath it (basically, drowning them in sand), and you can find bones underneath. With non-Ghosts, there are Sliggoo, who can't differentiate between friends and food, and will try to dissolve people. Tapu Lele who is guilessly cruel and when soldiers were waging war, used its scales to pump them up and led to them all killing each other (in Japanese text), Glalie, who used to be human, Primeape who gets so angry, it dies...need I go on?

That's where you're wrong. Giratina is the god of antimatter. If you're looking for a Pokémon Devil, look at the literal incarnation of death Yveltal. The first part of its name is an old medieval spelling of "evil" and when it dies, all of life in its vicinity gets eradicated.

@@ahighdef.experience3394 If you read up on the Big Bang Theory (I'm not talking about the sitcom) it states that when the Universe was barely more than a second old, particles of matter and antimatter formed and annihilated each other. That is the violence that Arceus banished Giratina for. Citation needed for the 666 motif though; oh and by the way, the so-called Beast the number refers to is not the Devil, but a few serpent beasts as explained in _Revelation._

JamesDavy2009 On yeah, I get that Giratina represents Antimatter/gaseous matter (With Dialga representing solid matter and Palkia with liquid matter), though it's also greatly eluded to that Giratina is the evil banished by the creator (such as the relationship between Satan and God in Christianity). As for the 666, it comes from the fact that in both the origin and standard trims for Giratina, it has 6 ribs, 6 spikes and 6 wings/legs (though that may be looking too far into it)

Giratina is the god of antimatter, not the Devil. Arceus banishing Giratina came from the Big Bang Theory (not the show, the scientific theory). Yveltal is more fitting of the moniker as it can literally eradicate all life in its vicinity; plus there's also the fact that "yvel" was a medieval spelling of "evil".

@@JamesDavy2009 Dude, it says in the Pokedex that Giratina was sent to the distortion world, as punishment for it's misdeeds, unlike every other Pokemon. And yes, that even means more misdeeds or evil acts than Yvetal. So no, it wasn't by dumb theories.

A lot of these pokemon are circumstantial . Scyther is kind off scary but very rare , Golisopod is recorded to be a coward , Darkrai while scary has shown a kinder side to its personality , Elecktross is definetly creepy same as Parasect ,Pinsir , Banette , . As for Dewpiders evolution it is kind of unsettling but its dex entries are controdictoty and Mimikyu is only scary in the anime or if you lift its coat since it only wants to be friends . Guzzlord is probaly the scariest since it is actually shown to have destroyed alola in another dimension.

Guzzlords didn't destroy Alola. In that dimension, Alola became something like the Earth in Wall-E. Guzzlords were left on Earth because it was impossible to satisfy their huge hunger and they eat basically everything. That's what a dude in that dimension explains.

No, the fact it's recorded that Mimikyu's can kill people (not will, know the difference), that definitely leaves it as a scary/nightmare fuel Pokemon. It's not scary because it does something on it's own volition, it's scary because of the dangerous possibility of death with it. Not only that, but it's own Z-move in the game is dedicated in doing the exact thing that can kill anyone, onto it's opponent.

Okay, I can kinda understated Golisopod, since some people think giant isopods are scary, but scyther, seriously? I also think 'Nigtmare Fuel' is an overkill way to describe them. Scary or Creepy would be way better.

Another Pokémon that didn't get a mention is Unown. They can spirit you to their own dimension, and in groups can alter reality. To quote Linkara, "The Unown are amplifying and physically manifesting a young girl's post traumatic stress disorder!"

@@JamesDavy2009 there are a ton of creepy pokemon like Palosand who covers up a pit of the bones of pokemon it has killed, and Yamask who carries its face from when it was a living person. I am just kind of dissapointed they went with the "ah! Giant bug!" route. I really only agree with Pinsir and Parasect of the chosen bug-type.

Alvin Adams Mimikyu can accidentally kill people, if they look under it's cloak. Banette holds grudges and *will* find it owner who abandoned it when it was a doll, out of revenge. Beauty,Cute or being harmless looking.does cut the fact for how incredibly disturbing and lethal you are. Gorebyss,Litwick and Blacephalon are some good examples in that order.

Something not often considered about Guzzlord is the fact that in episode 100/101 (I forget which) of the Sun and Moon anime, it's subtly stated that Guzzlord has killed people.

Zebstrika's cry always scared the crap outta me as a kid so I always dreaded encountering one. 😥

Out of everything here, only Banette and Pinisr have megas. Mega Pinisr isn't much worse, but Mega Banette is creepy

Arachnaphobids, Araquanid might be based on a spider and have arachnid in his name, but he only has six legs, so there is nothing to worry about.

I've always wondered: How would Misty ( a water type gym leader ) feel meeting a Pokemon like Surskit or Aquaranid which are bugs but also water types

Ahoyhoy There, Fellow KZreadrino! My Ditto card scared me when I first opened the pack, something about that dumb smile and those dot eyes . I was so scared I doctored up the card and now I regret it because it looks bad .

Well, actually got scared with Araquanid once, but then found it adorable when I caught it

The one thing from Pokémon that caused me more nightmares than any horror movie was the manga. The controlled corpses in the Pokémon Tower, Arbok regenerating aften being slit in half by Charmeleon, Blaine's sickness due to Mewtwo, the way Archie and Maxie nearly won but ended up fighting for a sword that would be the only thing keeping them alive were disturbing enough, and some fights like Giovanni freezing and shattering Magmar and Deoxys stabbing Mewtwo were quite graphic for the franchise. Then there's the Black & White manga, which was really draining near the end.

Rise of Darkrai (and the D/P era movies period for that matter) will always be one of my favorite Pokémon movies

The Groudon from the Jirachi Wish Maker movie would be my #1. The way it just gets bigger and how the tentacles could get you anywhere. I could understand why that one wouldn't count though, just sharing my thoughts.

Diglett is kinda mysterious sense no one knows what's underneath it, Darkria can put someone into a permanent nightmare, Banette is an angry vengeful Doll kinda like Chuckie but with way more powers, Shedinja traps your soul in its body if you look at the hole on its back which is mainly what you see when you battle with it and see its back sprite, Gourgeist literally sings joyfully as it watches its prey die, Mimikyu kills you automatically if you remove its disguise and Giratina is the Pokemon version of Satan.

Are you kidding me?! Scyther was one of my favorite pokemon when i was young! Heck i wasnt even scared of him when i saw him in the playing cards and tv...

As someone who despises real bugs to the point of keeping a vacuum cleaner nearby at all times as a weapon to kill them with, I actually had no problem using an Araquanid as a party member in Sun.

Banette HAS to be on this list. It's literally a doll who hates everything and literally spends it's life hunting the person who discarded it. That kinda reminds me of the only horror movie I've ever seen. Also 3:43 is really creepy when you hear the background story of that world.

Personally, I'm surprised that Malamar didn't make this countdown. In the episode "A Conspiracy to Conquer!" Ash couldn't have said it better when he labeled Malamar as "one scary Pokemon."
