Indian is not a budget bike

I'm a short guy, 5 ft 4", but an experienced rider. I ended up finally doing a custom bobber, flyrite frames out of Los Angeles, did the the frame so I could slap a real engine in it. I can't lie.. with my short legs I had to go for years choosing between the height I felt comfortable with and could flat foot at stops.. or the power I wanted as a long time bike enthusiast. I'm so glad to see that now so many companies are adding real power to lower bikes. Now I could buy one instead of having to have one built like I did.

Wow, same height. Have a stock gsxr 750 but have rode ADV’s as well. Long as I can get 1 foot down I’m good, but I’m sorta use to it coming from dirt bikes. Must say it is great that company’s are catering to all heights, I’m sure it’s quite intimidating to newer riders.

I'm also the same height but I have experience driving taller bikes for my height. I had a cruiser in India - Bajaj Avenger. It was perfect height for me lol and it was fun to drive. For the same reasons I'm thinking of getting a Scout Bobber because it looks a little taller if not the same height.

Thanks for this content! But some of the info on this video is not right. Duke 390 seat height is around 810mm and was one of the deal breakers for short riders. Was quite surprised it was included on this video. Also, the Ninja 400 price is 331k for 2022 models and already 349k for the 2023 model. 315k was for the older and 2nd hand models maybe?🤷🏽‍♂️

It is noteworthy that the Triumph Tiger 900 has a GT Low ride height variant with a seat height of 760mm to 780mm.

I own a 390 Duke. Stock seat height is at least 820mm.

I don't own one but I browsed through the specs sheets a couple of years ago enough to remember that the seat height was more than 810mm (810 is my threshold I'm 5.2) and figured it ain't for me.

you don't need to put both feet on the ground. Your right foot should always be on the rear brake anyway. I'm 5'2 and can handle up to 810mm seat height. I mean look at Gakimoto.

I'm 164cm and would love to get the XSR155 (810mm) as my next bike. I'm a beginner at 51 with a Z125 Pro to building up my confidence

Don't forget, we also have the Kawasaki Vulcan 650.

Why nobody bothers to keep tje handle bar closer too, short people have shorter hands as well.

im surprised benenelli's motobi wasnt included in the list. But looking at the list, they cost more than 300k.

I sat on that Indian scout and the riding position is like doing set ups.

How about Suzuki SV650?

No mention of the Kawasaki Vulcan S 650? It only has a seat height of 705mm.

i'm 5'2. To say the least, that is VERY close to the ground. Maybe aiming for a Grom but I want a faster bike too

Thanks for this review. I'm 5 flat literally... Started with XSR 155 for practice. Then bought a REBEL 500 two months ago as starter.. Eying a Bonneville Triumph Bobber or Harley as Upgrade soon.

@@josephnova7864 I'm tip toed on XSR 155 , but manageable.. riding it was not hard especially when the bike is running. It's a different story if you're stuck in traffic. I'm 5 flat. If you're taller than me then there is no issue at all

Duke 390 is 820mm, not 787mm. Idk where he got that number, lowering kit?

How come Philippines' 390 Duke, Tiger 660 and Street Twin got lower seat heights than in Thailand? They're 830, 835 and 765mm here.

I think 390 Duke seat height they gave is wrong. I own one, and tried the CB650R on the dealership when I bought it. 390 Duke seat height was definitely taller, I'd say 830 is more accurate than 787.

Probably lowering kits might have been involved. Not sure about the triumphs but the duke is over 800mm for sure.

5'3 ako. at mas maiksi pa sa average na 5'3 insim ko. pero abot ko yung sniper 155 na may 795mm seatheight yun nga lang ang kaso tiptoe ako buti na lang magaan ang bike ko hehe next target ko naman pagnakaluwag2 z400 mas mabigat pero mas mababa naman seatheight on paper na 780mm seatheight

Im pretty sure the bristol bobber 650 should have made it in this list

805mm and above are not for the typical "short" riders for us Filipinos since our average height is only around 5'5".

I'm 4'9 any recommendations

My wife is 5'1". We haven't found a bike that she can both put her feet on the ground and comfortably put her feet on the pegs. Its either or. The footpegs are to long a reach to comfortably ride distances or the seat is to high. She has had several bikes, right now she rides a benelli TNT 135 back and forth from work and she has to tippy toe that little bike.

The Suzuki is a poor recommendation for short riders. The distance from the back of the fuel tank to the handlebars is very long. Even if one is able to reach the ground, they might not be able to reach the handlebars unless they are laying on the fuel tank.

So, only sport bike for me here would be the ninja400. I'm only 154cm tall, can't find a sport bike over 600cc to suit me. I don't get it. Why can't they make some sport bikes 600-650cc with a seat heigh under 800mm.😢

Not true. Comfort is a big factor in the fun. Don't be a "tiis-ganda". It's also more sustainable that way. Also seat height is about safety too. Chances are, the more comfortable you are, you'll be safer on the road.

I think you got my comment wrong here, im not a tiis ganda type of person. Im simply suggesting that people will have a better time in motorcycles if they get out of their "comfort zone", not necessarily meaning that you shoud get uncomfortable bikes.

@@norbertovillarealiii6750 I think by "taller bikes" you mean "upright" to which I'd agree, the more upright equals more comfort ergonomically. Not all upright bikes are tall and not all tall bikes are upright, so if you simply mean "tall", then I'd disagree. Can't really fault me if you think I misconstrued your point, to which I'm only responding to because I think it's wrong and potentially misleading to a dangerous assertion to forgo comfort (and safety, I argue) for the sake of having a bike. Part of the equation to your decision to get a bike should include the comfort AND fit (ergo seat height). "Embrace the uncomfortable", "Get out of your comfort zone", those sentiments are catchy at best. But they're incomplete sentences and contextual, and therefore highly ambiguous. While I agree that you can master any motorcycle, that's not what you said the first time, and you repeated to say ambiguous things.

High seat, high handle bars usually large wheels, ADV kind of bikes, which are usually very comfortable and mostly upright. Were talking seat heights so by "get out of your comfort zone" I mean don't limit yourself on bikes with low seat heights. I don't know what is ambiguous about it, its my first comment as well.

The former was ambiguous, and unsound, as I've already established, and you just clarifying doesn't constitute as being clear. Second, what I said about comfort.. "Embrace the uncomfortable".. Like, what does that even mean (i.e. ambiguous)? Will you teach a little girl on a Multistrada and just tell her "get out of your comfort zone"? Will you teach a new rider to go 100 kph around the bends of Baguio because he should "embrace the uncomfortable"? I'm just pointing out that that is unsound guidance in and of itself and really is out of place from your whole narrative.
