@@randomknowledgeperson2872 when I read that Firestar (yes, of Spider-man's Amazing Friends) has to be careful so that she doesn't accidentally burn off the Earth's atmosphere is about when I started wishing Marvel would do a power-down event. Seriously, make it company-wide, some Evil BadGuy comes along to threaten the earth, and everyone bands together, but somewhere along the way, they all get powered down by about 80 percent, no exceptions, and make it stick by editorial edict for at least a decade. I think it would be good for the stories, good for the writers, and good for the readers. Comics are now written by the fanboys of yesteryear, and it just seems like some of these guys get a hold of their favorite characters from when they were a kid and the first thing they do is fucking power them up through the roof. Then it becomes a mutant/mutate arms race, and before you know it, nothing's impressive anymore.

Omega used to mean unlimited potential but it was made meaningless the moment it was revealed bloody Gambit was "Omega" in 1999/2000. The classification became writer fanwank then. I think even Jubilee has been labelled "Omega" at one stage.

Tashwampa the only problem is she’s too low on the list. He doesn’t even lists some of the most damaging of Storm’s power like the fact that she can control the airflow of a person’s lungs (suffocation).

Okay how can Iceman be above Storm when she has control over thermal energy?? She basically has control over water and can use electrolysis to separate hydrogen and oxygen molecules. She’s more than the weather she controls the energies that control the weather. She’s more powerful when she’s in space.

Because iceman potentially can warp reality. It follows from controlling heat that he could control all vibrations. He should be higher up than magneto in my opinion, because he could create electromagnetic currents in principle. I agree, one can argue Storm should have similar abilities but her powers were always portrayed more magically and not so fundamentally entrenched in thermodynamic thought exercise

Not really. Iceman has a simple, basic power that’s easy to extrapolate to potential future abilities. Storm controls the weather. One might say she can control static charges, but how does this lead to her controlling the wind? How does she shoot lighting from her hands and cause wind to whirl? Those are separate abilities and there is no concise unified mechanism that she exploits to ‘control the weather’. She is just kind of magic. Now think of the other people on this list - to have telekinetic abilities could lead to the most power. To control magnetism means to control electromagnetism and have relativistic abilities. To control cold/ice means to control all of thermodynamics - in principle all these heroes who can do these things can also control the weather to a certain extent - and more! From what I’ve seen, storm is not even in the top 10 in terms of her accomplishments but they are basing it on potential feats. Her potential is magically based - the potential of the others are more easily defined in scientific terms and more easily justified. Magic isn’t fair - for instance, Dr Strange is simply hard to define.

Storm can manipulate aspects of thermal energy specifically to affect the weather. Because weather is her ability. Iceman is cryokinetic. Complete mastery of ice and thermal energy is his ability. Not just aspects of it for weather effects. And he's Omega Level, so he controls it entirely at a molecular level and can do anything with his power that his mind can come up with, on top of being immortal. Storm...can't do that!

@@0m3gaph03nix exactly - if you were to describe how storm can manipulate both wind and electricity - let's say by combining elements of telekinesis and magnetism by altering dipoles on an atomic level - I'd say her potential would rank her higher than some others here because then she would be capable of controlling vibrations as well, and thus could change temperatures, combining many elements of the others on this list. But they DON'T describe her that way. They just say she controls the weather. I think this guy in the video did a good job pointing out also that Iceman is improving, whereas Storm hasn't continued to developed her powers to the same extent. There was another commenter here that mentioned that Storm tries to control herself and lock away her powers. That might be true, but we just need to see it. Some writer will probably expand her abilities one day.

@@michaelb2211 She's insanely powerful in her own right, as far as weather manipulation goes, but people keep trying to fluff her up into something she's not just because she's cool. I had a similar argument with someone about her the other day saying she'd rank above Magneto's abilities because she can affect magnetic energy. Had to again explain that his power is total mastery over electromagnetic energy. Her magnetic manipulation is specific to weather patterns only. She can't control magnetism. It's a cosmic force, not some weather phenomenon affected by atmospheric conditions. No atmosphere and Storm's powers are practically useless. Magnetism is literally everywhere. Same with Iceman. He doesn't need anything to use his powers. He can exist in all states of matter (except plasma) and thermal energy and cold are everywhere. He can manifest any aspect of his ability out of thin air. He doesn't need to manipulate the energies that already exist in an environment like Storm. Once she m gets near some atmospheric weather effect to work with, she's beyond incredible, but without it...not so much!

How the hell has no one pointed out that he says Emma and Prof X have telekinetic powers. NO, they do NOT. They have telepathy, not telekinesis.

Wanda's reality warping powers aka "hex magic. " is beyond her control. When she used her hex powers in one instance she became pregnant and gave birth to them only to have them vanish in thin air when someone broke her " Illusion" of the children. She also negated the Mutant population of the earth to 50% ,and that was because of her grief and rage in an another Xmen storyline.( I think it was a" House of M " ! Storyline.)

Graeme McNamara I was thinking more on the lines that barometric or atmospheric pressure density becoming so high that it pushes down a tectonic plate...like how some hurricanes become so powerful and build so much pressure that the same area of a hurricane in a short amount of time that same area has a earthquake. Imagine if storm just built up enough atmospheric pressure and pushed down on a tectonic plate...boom instant earthquake.

Iceman is immortal on his water form, he can create life outta water, he can freeze light, he froze hell, he can teleport by travelling his conciousnes trough water molecules, he can share his mind and senses with any water molecules on the planet, he can be at mutiple places at once, his ice constructs are as powerful as he want them to be, he can deactivate genes (X-gene included, depowering any mutant), he can control water, he can join the oceans in his liquid form and become the oceans, he can become as big as he wants, he can turn beings into water, he can turn beings into ice statues in seconds, he can heal himself, he can make clones, he can freeze Earth... Storm is extremelly powerful, but she can't create life, become an element, teleport or is immortal...

A tornado and a hurricane are made up of water vapor that Bobby can freeze instantly, Storm loses.

Emma Frost can shutdown all mutants powers, Scarlett Witch can remove all mutants powers, Jean Grey can turn everyone into Ashes, Storm can make a huge Typhoons to destroy the planet.

If Magneto can control all magnetic fields and any insignificant particle he basically has complete matter manipulation since every atom has a magnetic field... all the examples you gave are just the tip of his powers. He could literally rip you apart into singular atoms. So he has completely control over one of the four fundamental forces.

lol Franklin Richards extremely outclasses Jean Grey. Jean Grey, Phoenix included, can at most burn away a universe. At a young age Franklin was easily able to create multiple. Also, as an adult Franklin resurrected GALACTUS and made him his herald. Phoenix is even shown to be afraid of Galactus. Jean literally stands 0 chance.

Franklin is mortal, Jean the Phoenix is indestructible and immortal, it's not about how well they given feats because just like The One Above All he doesn't have strong feats but we all know that he is the God of Marvel Omniverse. As stated at the Comics and the Watcher, White Phoenix of the Crown (Most powerful version of the Phoenix) is second to TOAA, Living Tribunal can't even judge the daughter of TOAA. Phoenix is omniversal, Jean the Phoenix can take Franklin's life away since she is the representation of life and creation. As stated Phoenix is the manifestation of The One Above All's power, Phoenix is the most respected entitiy, even Death kneeled on the stranger and Living Tribunal became so humbled and feared the stranger who will be able to access the full extent power of the Phoenix. What Emma Frost is "most well known for" is for being second to Xavier as a Telepath and NOT turning into diamond! And she's not telekinetic. Can Legion really be considered an X-Man? Franklin Richards is NOT a member of Gen X. Reed Richards wouldn't have his son trained in his powers by anyone but himself. I definitely question the numbering.

If you do remember the old comics and the animations she always hangs out wth the x-men than the avengers, but she wasn't part of the x-men. And Scarlet Witch only stopped getting connections with the X-Men when the MCU existed and new comics started coming out.

@Eriss R. She (and her brother) have been retconned to not only no longer be mutants, but to no longer be the children of magneto. Apparently (according to the "awesome" current writers at Marvel. They were just tricked into thinking they were mutants so anything (like DNA tests or Cerebro) and anyone (including Xavier) who could detect mutants, were tricked by Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch "thinking" they were mutants. The same thing happened to Squirrel Girl and Cloak and Dagger who are also no longer "Mutants". BUT that is ok, because the latest issue of the comic "History of the Marvel Universe" says, all Mutants are just descended from Inhumans (yes this is what the Marvel Writers are saying now) lol.

Very true he is telekinetic though this power was taken away to allow him to control his ability to create energy blasts through any object he touches. But in the past he was able to use both powers as he once said and in my opinion he still has telekinetic abilities if restored given that it was how he was created as a mutant with telekinetic abilities.

Some mistakes.... Wanda and Franklin were never X-Men. Wanda fought the X-Men as a member of the OG Brotherhood AND her mutant powers were retconned. Franklin was a ward of Generation X... not a member of Generation X. You are right about him being an X-Man in a possible future but that means you should also consider powerful X-Men from the multi-verse. And you mentioned that X-Man is a version of Cable who isn’t infected with the Legacy Virus... Cable isn’t infected with the Legacy Virus. It’s the Techno-organic virus.

Emma Frost is not telekinetic! Emma did steal Iceman’s body and explored and took his power to another level. After giving him his body back, Iceman, he could not excess those abilities that Emma was able to. !Storm! Had to teach him about his powers and train him how to use them! Give credit where credit is due and Please know the truth! Scarlet was only able to erase the weak mutants which is why the powerful was left! Storm has a strong immunity to magic! Her powers are not weather manipulator but an energy manipulator! Magneto controls only one type of magnetism NOT all! The Phoenix is not a mutant but an entity!

(1) Emma has demonstrated telekinetic abilities before. She caused things to levitate whilst having a nightmare. (2) Iceman is still capable of doing those things himself, however he was mental barrier preventing him from doing so. He'll eventually figure it out for himself (3) Many powerful mutants lost their mutations as well, and some of the remainders were weak mutations. (4) She does indeed manipulate energy, but only energy relating to the elements. She can't manipulate all forms of energy like kinetic energy or dark force. (5) Magneto does indeed manipulate magnetism, of both ferrous and nonferrous metals. AS WELL AS electromagnetism, and limited gravitation manipulation (As a subset of the magnetic manipulation). (6) The Phoniex will always consider Jean Grey is primary choice of a host, an has brought her back to life several times. It has been a part of her so much that it has permanently increased her mutant abilities to Omega levels. So regardless, it might as well be considered a part of her.

Except for that one chance - which, by the way, was never discussed again - I've never done it again afterward. I'm not telekinetic. I'm telepathic with a secondary mutation that turns me into a flexible organic diamond. Nowhere in the comics have I shown to be able to do that again. So, no, I'm not telekinetic.

Iceman in his ice/water form is virtually invincible as the only way to destroy him in said form is to destroy the atoms of the water itself. Even with that said if the atoms are destroyed somehow there's no guarantee he'd stay dead as the guy has a power that's getting stronger every time we learn more about it, who's to say in his water form he can't just transfer his mind into every molecule of water in the universe to make himself 100% invincible any of universal destruction?

I’m not very familiar with the other mutants but I do know of them. I know the most about Scarlet Witch and Jean Grey. I think they are both very very powerful. After all, they’re both telepathic and telekinetic. If they worked together, they would be insanely powerful and unstoppable. Just imagine what they can do together. It would be insane. 😳

An Alpha level mutant is someone who looks no different from any other human being, and whose powers are pretty effective in combat. Likewise, they have no limitation placed on them as a result of their X-gene. Beta level mutants are just like Alphas, but with a catch. While at first glance they can pass for a human being, careful scrutiny reveals they have some strange trait that sets them apart, like an eye color that doesn't generally appear in humans. A Beta mutant can also be someone who passes for human but has some limitation imposed on them because of their power. Wolverine may seem human at first, but along with not being able to turn off his powers, he has an extra set of bones and muscles in each forearm, thus his retractable claws. Without the hair, fangs and uncontrollable healing factor, he would be Alpha. Beast is gamma.

Scarlet Witch is not powerful enough to wipe out nearly all mutants by herself. You overlooked the fact that she had to be in connection with and tap into the powers of Professor X and Doctor Strange to accomplish this.

Why is it us fans know how much of a beast storm is but yet shes portrayed as something weak in the movies and some animes etc. Shes literally one of thee strongest xmen. The shit they couldve done with her.

Neither Professor X nor Emma Frost is an omega level mutant. Both are extremely skilled and strong, however they aren't omega level mutants. They have been referred to as Omega Class Telepaths (that may be where the confusion is from) however never once has that been canonically equated to being an Omega level mutant. Omega class seems to deal more with strength and skill. Omega level mutants deal with the potential power (i.e. u can have an omega level mutant who is extremely weak), it just mean they can keep getting more powerful, no upper limit to what they can do... no proverbial "glass ceiling" that they can't eventually shatter on their own (unaided by machines, or outside forces)

arguably prof x and emma have displayed telekinetic powers, but generally this is discarded as old writing, however even if they did count it, their displays of telekinesis were weak :/

I always found it funny that the entirety of the genes from cyclops and jean has essentially been the origin for pretty much half the omega level mutants. Theres like 5 summers and their variations and then there's jean and her variation lol
