Meh my stepmom can do it better. She can flawlessly imitate Marvin the Martian. In fact, she can practically say ANYTHING in that voice and still sound like him. And no, that’s not her usual voice 🤣

“What’s up Doc?” -Bugs Bunny

Mel Blanc is definitely one of the greatest voice actors an animation history! He pretty much helped create Looney Tunes. Without him doing his research and studying with different sounds it wouldn’t have been so great. Every child from the 40s through the 80s knew his voices. Mr. Blanc was a huge part of my childhood routine of watching cartoons in the 70s and 80s. Thank you Mel for everything.

I like it better in the episode “Bully for Bugs” when Bugs Bunny was, quite literally, rear-ended by a bull in Mexico and went flying a dozen feet in the air and he did a “play on words” by saying “Of course you realize…This. Means. WAR!!” That always leaves me and my brother in stitches

That was the abominable snowman squeezing Bug Bunny on the moon in SPACED OUT HARE.

The impersonations throughout are [chef's kiss] ... except for Taz's wonderful gibberish. Hopes dashed, that's all I can say.

I knew “What’s up, Doc?” would be number one! Every single time me and my younger autistic brother watch a Looney Tunes cartoon and we see Bugs Bunny doing that, we have to do it, too. My brother even goes so far as to pretend to eat a carrot while doing it

It came from when background artist Paul Julian would always be in such a hurry to get out of the studio when it was time for everyone to go home for the day, he would say meep meep, and that would make everyone get out of his way. This caught Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese’s attention, and decided to make the voice of The Roadrunner Paul’s meeps meeps

I think it's largely because of the fact the name Looney Tunes stuck long after the shorts ended, while Merry Melodies faded away. Both featured music pretty heavily very early on. Then Warner Brothers themselves started calling them the Looney Tunes in movies like Space Jam, and shows like Baby Looney Tunes. When they first referred to the characters rather than the shorts themselves, I'm not sure, but it was after the golden age of the shorts. It didn't help that for 80's and 90's kids, Roger Rabbit popularized the term Toon.

Fun fact: cartoon weren't originally made for children but as a way for adults to enjoy the music used on them, this is the reason why a lot of them have music based names like loony tunes, merry melodies and silly sympathise

Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! I always wondered why Bugs Bunny was calling a human character "doc", and found out recently that the word "doc" was used to address other people similar to today's "dude" back in the early 40s. 🤣

My favorite Looney Tunes Characters are Wile E Coyote, Tasmanian Devil, Tweety, Hubie And Bertie and my personal favorite Lola Bunny because of her quote in the first Space Jam Don't Ever Call Me Doll as a reminder to her boyfriend Bugs Bunny and her friends.

I always liked the elephant gun scene with Bugs, Elmer and the Elephant hammering Elmer to the ground I say that quote all the time. RIP Mel Blanc, you created a whole lot of awesome memories over the years.

I prefer Daffy in his older cartoons where he used to do what Bugs Bunny does. He’d be the one outsmarting Elmer, Egghead, Porky and other randoms to come out on top. Now it didn’t always go in his favour, but the shorts were amusing. It wasn’t until he started getting paired off against Bugs Bunny that “you’re despicable” started being a thing. Daffy would commonly use “sufferin’ succotash” with his lisp. Not sure who had it first, but Sylvester claimed it.

Mom's favorite character was Michigan J. Frog, dad's favorite was Marvin the Martian, and mine was, and still is Tweety Bird. We also really loved the two sheep dogs and quoted them all the time 😂

I honestly always thought it was Bugs mispronouncing "moron". Like when he said "nincowpoop" for nincompoop.

I say “What’s up doc” and “what’s cookin doc” at least once a day in regular conversation. But while Bugs Bunny is still the best, Foghorn Leghorn has the funniest quotes: “Two half-nothins is a whole nothin” “I keep pitchin em and you keep missin em” “Nice kid but a little dumb”

To think in 6 years the Looney Tunes would be an century old. Not necessarily Bugs Daffy nor Porky for example but the series of shorts as itself. Sure Porky made the phrase That's all Folks famous but always remember that the original Looney Tunes star Bosko began saying the phrase in 1930.

Sufferin Succotash was original catch-phase for Daffy Duck instead they give it to Sylvester.

"Beep beep!" is even funnier when the Road Runner uses it as a jumpscare. I still end up on the floor laughing every time I see the clip where the Road Runner makes Wile E. Coyote jump so badly his head sticks right through an overhanging rock and gets stuck there.

I'm a Looney toons fan I love all of them but I've always loved Daffy duck he gets himself in so much trouble LoL 😂

I heard many years ago that Mel Blanc was actually allergic to carrots. So when he had to "eat" them for the shows, he'd spit them out right away. Don't know if it's true, but it's a good urban legend.
