I love the old cuts.. makes me happy to see most of these jewels old cut :-) a part of history! I despise the current jewelers taking value away from old cuts because they think it's imperfect for the current age... an old cut diamond is a true handcrafted masterpiece :)

Actually, the old cut stones are more expensive than their modern counter parts of the exact same grade. In the last 10-15 years OEC = old European cur diamond have become hotly sought after and command higher - nearly double the prices of exact same grade brilliant cut diamonds.

@@AndrewPidor Hmm, I confess I have a liking for a gentleman who would walk around with a 60 carat diamond in his pocket as a talisman. Then there was a master of cutting, Sir Gabi Tolkowsky who cut the Millenium Diamond. He believed diamonds could sing and by assigning notes to colors, photographing the spectrum of colors in individual diamonds and running it through special software, discovered each diamond has its own song. Amazing!

Absolutely stunning work unfortunately for my own wedding rings were lost and all I have to show for them is a photo, just happy that my late hubby will never knew that I lost them because he would have been so upset with me. I just wish that I hadn't taken them off due to swelling and stored them in my green handbag only to go missing when I moved.
