Hank Aaron's homerun was great, but I think most Braves fans would agree that Sid Bream's winning run in game 7 of the NLCS was the most exciting play of all time!!!

Sid's slide is #2. 95 WS is #1. 91 LCS games 6&7 are #3. This list sucks.
The Rick Camp Game had it all: drama, comedy, swampy outfield grass, 2-hour rain delays, fireworks at 4 a.m., and, best of all, Rick Camp's impossible home run. And to think: Camp pitched poorly the following inning and the Braves lost. But his home run should be on the list.

The fact that Nixon's catch isn't on this list is embarrassing, Braves had only 1 hit the entire game (a Dave Justice HR) but still had a 1-0 lead in the 9th when Nixon climbed the wall to rob Van Slyke of a 2-run HR that would have given the Pirates a 2-1 lead in the 9th. Winning that game also tied the Braves longest winning streak in franchise history (13 games)

For myself, as honorable mention, add in Rafael Belliard's home run in Shea Stadium - his only one as a Brave, and the last of his two career homers.

Decent list, but I would have included the 13-0 start to the 1982 season, Bob Horner's 4 HRs in a single game in 86, Gene Garber striking out Pete Rose to end his 44 game hit streak in 1978, and ATL's first pennant in 91...over some of those toward the bottom of your list.

Props to hank aarons 715, but there was no better moment than sid bream sliding home in the nlcs against his old team from 2nd base with crippled knees- beating barry bonds throw. The cheers in atl were deafening.
Whole heartedly agree with “the list”! A lifelong Braves fan, able to personally witness our #1 Greatest Moment AND the Sid Bream Slide! I recall almost taking out a 2nd mortgage for buying 8 tickets to the ‘91 World Series so my six kids could attend an “it’ll never happen again” event.......... little did anyone know this team would make it to FIVE series in nine seasons! GO BRAVES!
Sid Bream’s slide should be number 1 ...... that’s my greatest sports memory
95 Braves, with Skip Carey's " The Atlanta Braves have given you a World Championship, listen to this crowd " should have been #1.
This list is obviously from a VERY YOUNG fan..so many great Braves moments from 1969 when Braves won the West Division pennant, winning 13 straight from opening day in 1982 and going on to win the division, ending Pete Rose's 44-game hitting streak, from worst to first in 1991 and all the dramatic goosebump comebacks that year plus going to the WS, in 1992 beating the Pirates in the NLCS, winning 103 games and beating the Giants on the last day of the season to win the pennant in 1993, the sheer dominance of the club from 1994 -1999. But much thanks for the effort kid..
Bobby Cox getting a standing ovation from the fans and the Giants on his last game as the Braves manager while fans chanted "Bobby, Bobby!" Touching moment, needs to be at least #10 or Honorable Mention.
@GetBenched2010

How about the Marcus Giles 9 straight hits?
It was the bottom of the 9th & I stood up & covered my eyes with my hands. Next sound I hear is the beautiful crack of the bat & I look & see Sid B rounding 2nd, 3rd, home & "the braves are going to the world series!!!!!" Forever etched in my memory as my #1 of my life.. So far
Bob Horner? Also, even though the moment didn't win the World Series, Sid Bream's slide into home had to be just about the most exciting moment in the franchise's history. I can't think of a much more dramatic scene than a virtual unknown coming into the game and hitting the ball well enough to allow Bream a shot at scoring.
@GetBenched2010

Only unknown nationally, not in Atlanta. He was the only player who had his own chant when the chop was going on.
Good video but I have a few critiques: 1.) You HAVE to use Skip Caray's call of Sid Bream's slide. It's a must. 2.) The Boston & Milwaukee World Series titles are nice, but they're not really relevant. 3.) David Justice's homer in Game 6 of the '95 Series needs to be on this list. Other than that though, it was great.

Actually, the title of the video is "Top 10 Moments in Braves History," so the Milwaukee and Boston mentions are entirely relevant. Also, go back and look up the history of the 1914 Braves pennant run. They were in last place on July 4, 10.5 games out of first. Over the last 89 games, they had a 70-19 record, a .787 winning percentage. Then, they swept Connie Mack's Philadephia A's in 4 games. The '57 Braves were up against an extremely good Yankees team and pulled out the series in 7 games.
@billny33
7 жыл бұрын
Costas did not call the Francisco Cabrera 2 RBI single in 92. That one was Sean McDonough screaming safe at the plate. Costas called the 95 World Series final out "the team of the nineties has their world championship"
Gonna need an updated version now!
This list has 2 things that are definitely wrong, Sid Bream's slide should of been #1 or at worst #2 behind Aaron's HR and it's a travesty that Otis Nixon's 9th inning game saving HR catch against the Pirates isn't even on this list.
@LMacNeill

Sorry, dude. You knew going in that The Hammer was gonna get his props.
Braves advancing in the playoffs for the first time in 19 years has to go on the remix.
I agree with Aaron at #1. I'd have put Bream at #2. He looked like he was running on a leg and a half. I almost passed out that night!
Oh man, #5 is my greatest sports moment of all time. I was a 13-year old boy at the time. The apartment complex that I lived at during time erupted. You would've thought a tornado touchdown & ripped it to shreds. It was just so unbelievable as many of us came out of our apartments hugging, crying, & screaming in cheer. It was a very big deal for Atlanta at time following the 1991 season as the city of Atlanta awaited it's first major sport championship. Because remember, the Falcons weren't great than, the Hawks ceased to exist, & Atlanta didn't have a hockey team anymore. The Braves were a very very big deal back then.
Sorry #5 should be at the top of the list. Best time to be a Braves fan. It was an incredible time.
Aaron's HR should #2 that is an awesome feat, but winning the World Series should be #1 that is the ultimate goal.
i love the braves
@willischalepah9488

As do I very magical if you were rooting for them in the 90s.
I'd have included Claudell Washington's base hit that scored the tying and winning runs to extend the Braves season-opening win streak to a record 13-0 in 1982.
While I was not born yet for the moment, I have a feeling you need to talk to anyone who was there or watching Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS. Given the circumstances and how the entire stadium went ABSOLUTELY BEZERK, I would argue that was the most exciting moment in Atlanta sports history even when considering actually winning a World Series.
I am a braves fan so happy they won the World Series this year
Probably need to update this now after the amazing 2021 season.
Love it❤🥰 Hammering Hank!!👍
Conrad's walk off grand slam never gets old. Neither does Furcal's unassisted triple play, what a thing of beauty it was.
@db9944
2 жыл бұрын
Conrad's clutch hits weren't unappreciated, but his defensive shortcomings were a massive liability.
Justice's Home Run off Rob Dibble during the late 91 pennant race. Yeah, making the postseason became routine after that, but after so many non-contending seasons, this was huge.
watching it live, it felt like Sid took 15 minutes to score from 2nd.
That Brooks Conrad grand slam was on my birthday in 2010. The one year I didn’t go to a Braves game on my birthday :/
This'll have to be updated
I have to disagree. #5. Sid's slide in for the win is one of the best moments of my life.
So many wonderful memories
The fact that the 13-0 start in 1982 didn't make this list is a crime.
I was there for the conrad walk off and I can truly say I've never seen a ballpark shake like that. It was a business mans special so you know all the true fans were there and oh my lord it was the most incredible moment ill ever experience in sports. Unbelieveable
The reason Aaron was number one is because this was a once in a lifetime event. He should still hold the record. It will not take the braves 40 years to get back to the world series.
David Justice's home run?????????????????

Otis Nixon's catch, the Rick Camp Home Run, the brawl with the Padres...all should have been on this list
this is the future leaving a comment in 2021... please edit rankings... we became champs in 2021
As a Braves fan, and as much as I celebrate Hank Aaron, as a team game, winning the World Series in 1995 should be number one. Not to take anything away from Hank. Number two should be either Aaron’s HR or Sid’s slide.
Now today, that leads to their world series win
11 great plays....only heard Skip Caray ONE time!
this is a rare top 10 list that I agree with. great job

Sid's slide #5??? That's a top 5 play in ALL TIME baseball history and definitely #1 for the Braves.
I have a professionally framed picture of the atlanta braves 1991 national league champions game at Fulton stadium, signed by the entire team and with certificate of authenticity in a pouch attached to the back.Been trying to find a buyer for it but I'm a londoner so not a big fan base in England.Found it in abandoned storage unit.
Brooks Conrad one hit wonder
Bob Horner's four-homer game in 1986 could've made the list.
Another possible honorable mention is Bob Horner's 4 HR game.
We need an update to this, badly 2020 Wild Card Series Game 1 2021 NLDS Game 4 2021 NLCS Games 1/2/6
Be glad there are arguments in this comment section. I can remember when a routine double play might have made #8.
Would like to have seen some of the ‘82 Braves team. That was a special team even though we didn’t win it all.
Number one was the World Series victory. No one person’s personal accomplishment supersedes a world championship. Especially their first one. And, for the record, I love Hank. Grew up watching him, wanted to be like him. But 715 was second on this list.
You left out THE CATCH...Otis Nixon taking a HR away from Andy Van Slyke with his hand Over the wall. The Braves have it as the NO. 2. Are you actually a Braves fan?
The Braves are the only professional sports franchise to win a world title in 3 different cities: Boston in 1914, Milwaukee in '57, and Atlanta in '95.
Sid bream running to home has to be here
In the mid 80s when Bob Horner smacked 4 home runs in 1 game HAS to be included !!!
Mercker's no-hitter and Hank's 715th both occured on April 8th, exactly 20 years apart.
id like at top ten of Skip Caray calls... during a particularly long losing streak "and like lambs to the slaughter, the Braves take the field." then there was the time a journalist in Atlanta wrote a critical article... Skip hired a plane to carry a banner which read "and for a good time, call Rona Hudspeth at ### - #### "... it was their REAL home phone number ! he was a fan of good dirty jokes. which of course couldn't be told on the air. so, he told just the punch line.... oh, how I miss that man.
We now have another World Series team to add.
This list needs to be updated to include the 2021 team!
Hank Aaron passing Babe Ruth as the homerun king means much more,history was rewritten.
Otis Nixon’s catch and six stolen bases in a single game would be a great addition here, as would Bob Horner’s four homers in one game.
Francisco and Sid Bream slide was number 1. And what about Andrew Jones jump the wall catch.

Might want to update this now with the 2021 Braves. And Otis Nixon's catch HAS to be on the list.
I watched every game
How could the Atlanta Braves only Championship not be number one?
Can't wait. April Fools Day Opening Day is on it's way
Sid slide has to be #1. Great video though.
I watched the Conrad walk-off in an Atlanta pub. The whole city was electric at that moment, and during that time.
Hank Aaron is the true home run king
Good choices
Sid Bream game winning run by far and away the greatest moment regardless if they didnt win the WS
One Falcons moment is better than all, leading for 25 points in Super Bowl LI.
I can think of 14 other things that should be on here
JUpton and BJUpton hitting those back to back homers to tie then to win it was pretty fucking sweet. Didn't expect it on this list.... not a cery good one.
Hank Aaron is World Class
How can some of these walk off homer games make the list but the Rick Camp home run does not? The Rick Camp homer, the Sid Bream game, and the Atlanta Braves finally winning the series probably should have been the top 3. Throw in Aaron setting the homer mark to round out the top 4.
Needs a huge update #1 moment - 2021 Atlanta Braves win World Series title
Ah who could forget all the moments from that 1914 team
IMHO the only thing right here was Hank's 715 in the number one slot.
If this list were to be updated, Acuña’s grand slam would be in here
