I have been mangling lyrics all my life, but I have never made any of these mistakes....

Blinded by the light should be #1. Sorry, but you can tell me the correct lyrics all day long, and if I hear it the next day, we'll be back to square one.

When I first heard the song "if you like pina coladas" I was young and I heard " if you like being a koala, getting caught in the rain" I was thinking, "that poor koala"

"I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. I can see all popsicles in my way!"

I had a surfer friend who for her entire life, until she was 42 years old, thought the Christmas lyric, "...In a one-horse, open sleigh" was actually, "...with your one horse, soap, and sleigh". She said it made sense to her (until I pointed out the correct lyric) because, like a surfboard, you have to "soap-up (or wax) the rails of a sleigh... ...I couldn't argue with that! LOL

You also have to take into consideration the quality of sound in which these have been heard. You are sitting here listening to them on your modern headphones or speakers. A lot of these songs are older and at the time if on the radio could sound of less quality making the words harder to distinguish.

Some of these are classics you can totally hear (Hendrix, Manfred Mann, Sabbath, CCR)... But some of those are an intense stretch. There's no way you can mishear the ABBA, Toto, or REM that badly

I remember a few from my misbegotten youth. Several people had different versions of Louie Louie. Then there was the different versions of I'm Blue. My next door neighbor thought the old Osmond Brother's song "Like a Yo-Yo" actually said "sock a yo-yo" . We couldn't figure out what the singer from paper lace was singing in the song "the night chicago died". The actual lyrics are "And the door swung open wide, and my Daddy stepped inside, and he kissed my Momma's face and he brushed her tears away". And last but not least, there's the Song by England Dan and John Ford Coley called "I'd really love to see you tonight". The real lyrics are "I'm not talkin' 'bout movin' in..." But I have heard someone singing "I'm not talkin bout Melanin" and even "I'm not talkin bout my linen" . That last one was from a movie.

Don't know how anyone can have misheard most of these. 1 or 2 of them, sure, but not nearly all of them.

The REM one made no sense...besides it not even sounding like "lets pee" ...why would anyone assume those were the lyrics...? The Ozzy one makes sense, because no one knows what the fuck he says while talking, let alone singing ...but ...\\m//

Always surprises me when people mishear a lyrics that's the title of the song. That said, I've never heard of some of these. The R.E.M., Paul Young and Abba were completely new to me. How people misheard those I still can't hear. EDIT: Since apparently it wasn't clear, I'm not saying I don't know those three songs, I'm saying I've never heard of those misheard lyrics in those songs.

I remember there being a book call "Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy" that was a book of misheard lyrics that I saw in a bookstore sometime in the 90's. So I can give them credit for not making that one up. Sadly, though, it was full of terrible entries that I couldn't believe were real misheard lyrics.

In Led Zeppelin’s version of Dazed And Confused, it sounds a lot like he is saying ‘send you to hell’ when he is really saying ‘send you the bill’. They actually changed it in live versions. Surprised it didn’t get a mention.

I have to say only one that I heard wrong was from Black Sabbath the rest is probably cause of people who arent used to listen to the accents and they were pretty clear what they sang. Why isn't Celine Dion in there with Hot Dogs go on ;P

If you have interpreted any of these sons with the 'wrong' words other than 'blinded by the light' you really need to upgrade your speakers, or simply stop listening to music.

Yeah, I've NEVER misheard that. I saw it pop up and "Wait, what can you... Oh, that's stupid!" Then Dancing Queen... lolnope, can't miss-hear that, same with that Paul Young one, or even the Elton John one. If anything, there should be some Bob Dillon, Rock the Cashba, "Play that funky music/play that f***ing music white boy," and anything but these songs.

Who the fuck came up with these? Seriously unless you went out of your way to purposefully find the most arbitrary thing that loosely sounds like the actual lyrics, you would never "mishear" this shit.

Ok a lot of these are complete bullshit, I don't think anyone really thinks that is the lyrics to the song... I'd laugh if this was uploaded on April fools or something but for christ sakes.

A couple of my personal favorites are "I'm a pool hall ace" - Every Breath You Take. "We built this city in the wrong damn road" - Built This City. "Without my baby penguin" - a Chris Isaac song that I don't remember the title of.

By the way, on the "Purple Haze" part, the misheard lyric I've heard of is "Excuse me while I piss the sky"

Dancing Queen was easy to hear to and most all of the songs i havent heard even once!

None of these I misheard, I don't know what's going on in people's ears.

I got two misheard lyrics. 1. In the Foo Fighters' My Hero during the bridge to the final chorus, Dave Grohl sings "Kudos my hero, leaving all the best" which I thought was "Kudos my hero, *Leaping off the bed*". 2. The opening line of Some Nights by Fun is "Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck" and I thought that was "Some nights I stay up cashing in my *Pad Lock*".

Ok maybe it's because I'm wearing expensive headphones, but I don't see how people could misinterpret these lyrics.

The original was going to be "In Aberdeen, I will die" but they changed it because it would've been too dark. The song is about someone with depression.

Blinded by the Light and Purple Haze, I think, are the only ones you could mistake. Most of the rest are just accented and don't even really make sense. "You take a piece of meat with you"? Can you really think it is it that over "me"? Does it really make more sense? I like a lot of Top 10s on WatchMojo but this one was just ridiculous.

I've heard Africa about a million times for the past 27 years and I have *never* heard that. But for years I did think it was "I miss the rains down in Africa" which I frankly prefer.

I never misheard these particular sets of lyrics. The ABBA one really mistifies me, their diction is so precise as compared to some of the other real rockers, who tend to slur lyrics from time to time.

Really? I'm baked, the music was before my time, and already I knew the correct ones, and the one's I didn't know... I could hear it first time, You failed Mojo, you failed hard!
