That's not irony. Somebody playing something old that other people no longer play isn't ironic at all. That's like saying "Man, it sure is ironic that you constantly wear bell-bottom jeans, even though that style died forty years ago, and nobody else wears them anymore besides you." Irony would be something like a person who hasn't played the game in years being better than these runners who practice for hundreds of hours.

Ñîggā Ü Gæŷ clearly you are high 1. Speedrunning is some sort of income since a lot of people stream it. And a lot of people also have an actual job and speedrun as a hobby 2. Speedrunners have their own community, they clearly have a social life in their own bubble 3. Are you telling me you are learning a trade in your free time and have no other hobbies that are pointless (etc watching tv, being on the internet, playing sports when you could just do pure exercising, etc)? And a lot of guys already have outside jobs. Carlsagan42 actually is a scientist. Basically you are stereotype city I️ could say you are a memer who lives in their moms basement and has no capability to live on there own and goes on reddit instead of, idk, learning a trade like plumbing. I don't think reverse would imply that it's a choke but on a difficult trick. Also if you fail a difficult trick numerous times it's still called a choke. I also wouldn't say a reverse choke is choking an incredible play either. A reverse choke would probably be when you choke but pull it back (aka clutch)

They also speed up the footage, because the guy is streaming he had his buddy go back and watch his stream and tell him all the answers, and edited it to make it seem like he got it all on accident.

I know this comment is old but if you're on windows you can right click the volume icon on the taskbar, go to playback devices, open your default speakers, go to the enhancement tab, and on most computers there should be a "loudness equalization" option. I don't think I've gone a day on youtube without using that after I realized it was there.

+Darien Gibb That's why speedruns are put into categories. any% is basically beat the game as fast as possible, with any means necessary. However, using external cheat devices to alter the game and make it faster for you is not aloud. Please stop saying that glitches are cheating, you're taking all of the fun out of it. Many speedruns even with glitches are insanely difficult to get all right, it's not "cheating", this requires skill...

Untrue. If you check the leaderboards for frigate secret agent, Luke is still up there. This is based on nothing and just a lie from what I have seen. If you check the video, there are some people claiming that he put out a different gun than he had equipped, but from what I understand that’s just a meme. Could be wrong though, I’m not really knowledgeable when it comes to Goldeneye 64, and I can’t tell the weapons apart, and that is not helped by the low quality.

Very concise explanations and informative. Thanks for not wasting any time but providing context as to why it’s a moment. Keep it up!

Well if he only destroyed 7 bushes, then yes. However he destroyed 11 bushes so the odds are about to 1/1053030 (for example, if he destroyed 1000 bushes, it's pretty safe to assume he would get at least 7 bombs)

1) It is because there's an extra component to random drops known as the flex drop, which adds another 1/16th bomb drop chance under the right conditions (which have all been met in this instance) 2) It would not be 1/2,097,152. That's the odds of getting 7 bomb drops in exactly 7 bushes, not 7 or more bomb drops in 11 bushes (though I heard there's actually 12 in that location).

Assuming there are in fact 11 bushes with a 1 in 16 the odds as previously mentioned are 1 in 1053030.2159021922915477902234637 (aka ~one in a million) You can do the math yourself using a binomial probably calculator.

that's part of the problem, the 1/16 is the wrong assumption as there's a factor called the "flex drop" which increases the bomb drop rate by an extra 1/16th under certain conditions, making it a 1 in 8 instead here.

No, he was trying to defend his friend and deliberately taking things out of context to make him look less bad, just to fit his narrative for GDQ. He never stood up for white supremacy or the KKK personally. He was a flawed human being, yes, as we all are. He didn't deserve to live in misery and conclude his life by committing suicide. He introduced a lot of people to speedrunning (including myself) and was an inspiration to many. No, this does not erase his actions in life, but you don't have to be a dick to someone who ultimately felt as if they couldn't find happiness in their life.

I got so lucky whilst playing MARIO kart at school as we had a video games club (which they have now stopped). I was in first place on the f-zero map and slowed down. Now in second, as I tried taking a shortcut across the dirt bit and having hit an item block I got a mushroom and boosted across hitting my opponent and as it was anti-gravity I gained an extra speed boost and crossed the line.

Fuck. Regardless of what he said or did, he didn't deserve this. May he rest in peace, like he wanted.
