Top 10 LONGEST Alpine Coasters on Earth
Alpine Coasters are some of the longest, most scenic attractions out there. Many of which are open during the winter. I've wanted to do this video for a while, so let's get crackin'!

i rode number 7 with my son this past summer. the operator was kind enough to let us keep plenty of room between us and the people before us, so we went down the whole thing without braking ones. let me just say this was a whole workout, we were both laughing and screaming for minutes after the ride ended. what an experience
I want to go ride those alpine coasters so bad. They look absolutely incredible.
Always been too terrified to ride these as a kid, but now I'm ready! next time I see one, I'm stopping in for sure!

One of these with a track(and not a bowl) just put your feet on the handels and go. You can't fall off :P
Absolutely want to ride on an Alpine coaster. They look so fun!!!
My favorite alpine coaster is deffenitely number 4 on the list because i'm from switzerland and have ridden it more than once. Very recommendable.
I rode #3 a few years ago. Paid for three rides. People in front of me fell in love with their brakes. I skipped the third ride and took an earlier train home, full of disappointment. But the Rosengartenschlucht is absolutely beautiful! And by the way, despite being the same state, Osttirol (East Tyrol) is geographically seperated from Tirol (Tyrol). It would take you a three-hour car ride - via Südtirol (South Tyrol, belongs to Italy since WW I) - from Imst to Lienz.
Wish we had something like these in California! The views are absolutely breathtaking, definitely going on my bucket list :)

There is one in Tahoe (no clue how good it is) but it is obscenely expensive. Like $100+ or something

There's also one at Big Bear Lake, near San Bernardino.

@@DavidHHH99 i didn't know that one! I'll have to check it out
I’ve never ridden an alpine coaster before and they look fun
I think the idea of longest pipeline coaster sounds insane thank you so much for making this top 10.
I'm from Switzerland and I've been on the rodelbahn it was very fun
Yea I rode an alpine coaster in Pigeon Forge TN. It was alot of fun, Dollywood was still closed due to the pandemic going on. My issue is I'd wanna fly down these beasts and slower goers would be in the way.
I really want to ride these coasters in my life. It looks so much fun
Alpine coasters freak me out! Great video. Maybe one day I’ll try one of these…
Alpine coasters are so much fun. Switzerland has so many cool ones! Totally worth it if you are close 🥳
Had a couple of rides in Imst. Enjoyable if you don't have slow people in front of you. You make it sound like Imst and Lienz are close, and technically in the same state, Ost Tirol is separated from Tirol and it actually needs a 3 hour drive from one alpine coaster to the other.
I loved this video! Last time I checked #8 in Mieders Austria had the largest total vertical drop. Next time: do a video on the largest elevation changes on mountain coasters. Thanks for posting!
I used to go golm every summer on holiday. Riding the mountain coaster was always peak of the vacation and I'd kill to go there again someday.
You haven’t experienced hell on earth until you’ve been stuck behind a slowpoke on one of these.

Mieders was the scene of an angry man ramming a slow woman on the ride
I rode the Alpsee coaster this year. It was incredible fun. You can take the lift to the top, go to the climbing park, which called Bärenfalle and it's so much fun too. There is also a restaurant and then you can finish your adventure with the Alpsee coaster. But you have to wait 1-2 hours to ride it. But it's worth it.
I've only ridden Tobotronc out of all alpine coasters, the lift hill took ages to reach the top but it is worth
Gatlinurg and Pigeon Forge have plenty of these if anyone is coming through to go to Dollywood, Goats on the Roof and the Smoky Mtn Alpine Coaster are both great fun!
I saw a alpine coaster in the Smokey mountains across Ripley's aquarium of the smokies during a trip at dollywood after Christmas 2019.
I rode one alpine coaster in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What’s painful about these rides is that sometimes there is someone slow going in front of you while you are going full speed. This is why dispatches on these types of coasters are long

oh my god I hate when people do that, the top speed isn’t that much in the first place just be normal and don’t piss people off
States with the most rollercoasters per million people on RCDB. States like PA, MO, IA. Coasters with the most airtime Top coasters by each maker(PTC, Vekoma, etc) Longest coasters based on ride time
Could do with an alpine coaster on the Wrekin… she’s 1,335 feet tall and there’s not a single coaster in Shropshire
I love alpine coasters! We just got back from Estes Park, Co and to my surprise there was one open year round so I was excited we got to do one in cold weather
You know, Alpine Coasters are the only kind of roller coaster that my mom will ride. And I don't blame her, they look like a lot of fun!
I've never heard of these but now I really want to ride one!
Alpine coasters are safety upgrades from the original alpine slides like they had at Action Park.
I have rode most of them on the list. The problem with the longer Alphonse Coaster/rodel bahnen is the slow people. Nothing sucks more than getting stuck behind someone that goed way to slow. I personally never break on any of these.
Arizona got its first New coaster in 30 years in 2022: A 1 mile long alpine coaster in Williams AZ. That increased our total coaster count by 50% 😂 But it's ok... we're going to nearly double our coaster count this year when Barbie Land opens!
I rode the hasenhorn and churwalden ones. The one in Switzerland also has several outstanding airtime moments and unusually large dips, including one section with three of them in a row. But unfortunately it's heavily braked and rough, so I enjoyed the one in Germany more.
I just want to say for your next poll video, when I rode JTTCOTE and rise of resistance , both the lava animatronic and kylo ren have a perfect spot where the trains are somewhat moving or using effects to advantage to create a better experience, shamen on the other hand, deserves the spot, its crazy fluid, really long and deceiving cycle, plus lots of theming and no distractions. Super exited to see the vid!
Alpine coasters are so underrated
This is a really fun video idea, Peter! Thanks! I love the one I rode in Pigeon Forge so these look great! 🤩
How often does Mr. bear wait alongside the tracks for a tasty human snack to roll by?
Don't worry about your lisp man! Your videos are usually gold without it. This one is just as gold sir. No need to worry, never been on an Alpine Coaster but now I want to experience one!

I also appreciate your pronunciation of the German names! Good on you!
Alpine coasters definitely stand out to me in terms of scenery. There very pleasing to look at.
I really appreciate a good alpine coaster - the most intense one may be "Trappers Slider" at Fort Fun in Bestwig, Germany: the small bunny hops on this thing launch you out of your seat, it's just crazy 🤘🏻
I remember a while back, I was in Tennessee when I saw a pamphlet about an alpine coaster. It was pretty cool. I didn't go on it nor do I remember the name but all I remember was it is an alpine coaster in Gatlinburg, TN
Great video as always, you uploading makes my day so much better. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video you put out.
If you need a new microphone try the HyperX Quadcast as I just got one for myself (talking to my friends on Discord). Without the compression of Discord it sounds absolutely fabulous. Great video as well, keep it up!
Here's a fun fact for you: Andorra has no airports for fixed-wing aircraft nor any railways, so you need to enter the country by road through either France or Spain unless you have a helicopter.
I've grown up near the Vermont Killington mountain coaster and that one is not long but so fun. That one is my fav
Love alpine coasters. Great video!
Thanks for letting us choose this video!
The biggest issue with these is that you can choose between have a thrill ride, or have a breezy scenic venture...and if you choose the later everyone behind you has no choice anymore. The ride is so inconsistent.
I much prefer the Brandauer models over the Wiegand models personally. The layouts feel faster and more intense.
Another great video from Peter at Theme Park Crazy!
Another great vid, thanks
Alpine Coasters always have my curiosity in design and fun more over the years.
Loved this one!!!!! 😍
i had to stop the video as i read the name of the serlesbahn because me and my mother and her friend had a lot of holidays in autria and sometimes we visited the Serles when we planed our hiking route towards the serles. its an intersting tour (the hiking route) but we go only on autum cause i got problems with the bugs in summer. but riding the Serlesbahn is very fun.
Loving this channel since I discovered it. make a video with top 10 bobsled coastee . I couldn't find any such videos. Thank you Hugs from Brazil ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video! And also your voice is totally normal sounding so dont worry. I get super self conscious about my seemingly slurring words when I hear myself recorded but have been told nobody else notices
We need something like these in the Appalachian mountains here in the US
I haven't ridden that many alpine coasters because most I visited were closed at the time I visited them. I have managed to ride 1 in Valkenburg in the Netherlands despite that and that still was one of my favourite coasters I ever rode
I rode one small alpine coaster in Pennsylvania, it was fun
There should be an alpine ride where you start at the top and finish at the bottom, so that you don’t have to wait several minutes climbing multiple Lidy hills.
Absolutely brilliant video. Hope the US gets more over time. So glad I found your channel
smoky mountain is cool
Very cool. I definitely need to try an alpine coaster sometime soon.
I haven´t ridden any of these, but when it comes to the pure Thrill factor I somewhat doubt that any of these stand a shot against "Trapper Slider" located in Germany´s Fort Fun Amusement Park. It is Europes longest Alpine Coaster located in a Theme Park, runs exclusively through the woods while being insanely close to the plants at some points. It features double- and tripple downs all over the place, throws in a quadruple down for good measure and even has a hextuple down (that´s 6 (!!!!!!) dips in a row), it is really hard in places to keep your feet in the sled. Throw in some solid laterals and in places really high speeds and you have a genuine Thrill Machine. And if a full blast ride on Trapper Slider wasn´t already great, during their Halloween Event (a really great one BTW) you can even get Night Rides on it, with only the Lift having a few lights on it. It´s complete insanity blasting through a forest while having no chance what so ever to see any of the drops coming.
It’s kinda shocking how all my life I’ve never ridden an alpine coaster as of yet. Perhaps the one at Mountain Creek Waterpark in my home state of NJ will be my first.
I've only ridden the alpine coasters in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, but they were awesome! My only complaint is that that area needs a pass that allows a ride on all of them, because if you want to experience them all, the price adds up quickly.
I'm going to ride them all !!! Thank you 😊
Whassup dude. I’m a fan of this channel, and I also talk about former coasters on my alt channel. Can’t wait for more content!
You may want to try "Le Viking" at Mont St-Sauveur (Quebec). Then, you could go to Montreal and enjoy a trip to "La Ronde" near the old port. In the summer, the HAL Zaandam ship will take you to Boston as well (back towards your home)!
I really like your videos, thank you for your enthusiasm! And I like how you really put some effort into pronouncing the German names correctly - kudos!
Idea: Top 10 Best WOODEN coasters in the world.
I've never been on a roller booper before but it seems very fun. I'll hope to ride one someday.
I've seen videos of super long Hot Wheels tracks, and these kind of remind me of those, especially the HW tracks of @5MadMovieMakers
You've changed my mind about Alpine Coasters
sounds great king! no worries
When in doubt, just try to do what Airtime Thrills does to measure track length: good old google maps and pythagorean theorem to take out non-ride track sections
Could you please link the location of all coasters? My favorite alpine Coaster is the Kurpfalzcoaster in the Kurpfalzpark(Palatinate Forest, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), followed by the Alpspitzbahn im Nesselwang(Bavaria, Germany)
I need to ride more of these. So far the only one I've ridden is the Timber Twister at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN. Thankfully I am going to Pigeon Forge, TN for the first time this summer. I'll have to check out these while there.
And I thought the Glade Runner was long!! All the lift Hill is technically broken into two sections by a small drop on that one. I remember I went on it with my dad and he was furious because we had a kid in front of us that was going slower than a snail and then we went again we were just flying through it it was so much fun Just Google it and it's about 1,320m (4,330ft) long!
Theme park crazy, I’m going to carrowinds in march, and I’m riding my first giga! I can’t wait!
Ive only been on one alpine coaster, but it was probably one of the most memorable coasters ever. on a vacation to jamaica, I went to mystic mountain and am proud to say that I have the mystic mountain bobsled ride credit. Going through mountains is one thing, but its completely different going at high speeds through a rainforest .
I would love to ride Meiders Alpine coaster because I saw a POV of it in 2011 and remains on my alpine bucket list
I've ridden the one in St. Johann, Austria, as a teenager. It was amazing. Haven't yet watched the whole video so I have no idea if it would make the list, but it's a fun memory from a family holiday long time ago.
Only alpine coaster I ever ride was in Gatlinburg. I really wish we had the terrain around here to make more of them. They look amazingly fun.
I've never been on an Alpine coaster before but they all look so fun!
I've actually been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and the coaster you were talking about in that small segment was amazing

I've also rode the Verbolten and the three launches are very, very surprising. Including the drop.
Oh dang, I went on number 3 in 2019 when I was on my honeymoon. I had no idea it was the longest in Austria!
My personal favorite was one in Pigeon Forge. I can't remember the name of it, but one experience I had ticked me off. There was a guy in front of me taking pictures, so he had to slow down a lot.
Amazingly despite my numerous annual ski trips I've never actually been on an alpine coaster.
I have been on one of those! It was very fun and scary at the same time!
I want to ride one so bad as well, they look awesome!

@colin lutz I’ve been on a few of them. They’re definitely a thrill, although they can be expensive.
One time, I was in a roller coaster, I was 7, me and my parents were going on it, and in the lift and drop, I started crying!

I work at an alpine coaster in Big Bear California it’s only a half of a mile and it’s called Mineshaft Coaster
I was supposed to do one in Wales in March 2020. Time to make some plans...
Always funny to see my old hometown Todtnau pop up on international theme park channels. Sadly the alpine coaster, like many over here, has been fitted with automatically breaking cars turning it into a shadow of it's former intensity
Theres a new alpine coaster that opened a few years back near me in NC that i really want to ride!!
