However, did you know that they are far from the only lost worlds? Today I will introduce you to some lands that were quite well described and even mapped in the past, but today no one can find them, as if they had evaporated. On the #theclashers channel, we go back through a certain time of mysticism and the vanished, long-gone civilizations of the earth.
Over the centuries, the Isle of Maida has been mapped under various names, with its original location thought to have been in the Atlantic Ocean southwest of Ireland. This island is one of the most prominent examples of a vanished land that was described well and then evaporated as a phantom. Maida was discovered in 1367 by the Pizzigani brothers, and even on the first maps, its crescent shape made an impression. Let's now go back a bit to Slavic history, because in our latitudes there is a mysteriously lost land. It is about an island called Buyan, which appeared and disappeared with the tides. According to Slavic mythology, the place was extremely sacred, as it was the germ of all living organisms on earth. Unlike Maeda, the island of Thule was visited and described quite well already in the 4th century BC, but then the island suddenly disappeared without a trace from the face of the earth. Its discoverer is considered to be the ancient Greek traveler and physicist Pythaeus, who described it as frosty and enveloped in a fog that never lifted. In his stories, he gives a brief but quite revealing description of the 25 different tribes who lived there - farmers who grew grain, vegetables and fruits. During the summer months the Sun did not set, and in the winter it did not rise. In this ranking I try to have diversity and not show you only islands. For this we will also touch upon the subject of the hollow earth or Agarti, and some know it as Agartha. Therefore, the topic of today's #top10 is #lostlands civilizations and lands.
The island of Mauritius is one of the most exotic places and a desired holiday destination for many people. However, did you know that he is hiding a secret? In 2013, scientists proved that today's Mauritius is only the cap of a long-sunken great ancient continent. It once connected India with Madagascar as a bridge, but 80 million years ago, thanks to continental drift, it went to the bottom. National Geographic reported that scientists discovered anomalies in gravity and the mineral zircon, which was 3.6 billion years old. However, a study of the rocks showed that today's Fr. Mauritius was about 9 million years old. Despite the coincidence of names with the country of Brazil, the two have nothing in common. The island of Hai Brasil (not Brazil, I know you watch the World Cup) has appeared on maps for 500 years, always being shown west of Ireland. It was first seen on a map in 1325. by Angelino Dulcert and depicted in a circular form. In 1387 it is again visible as small round islands and surprise, a little below is also Maida. In 1470 there are also the two, 1525 again, Two phantom islands, on very different maps from the past, coincidence? We can't help but confront the science with the facts, and I will present to you what the scientists have to say on the subject.
