10 makes quite a bit of sense. Despite his hidden evil, Palpatine did end senate corruption as he promised in Episode 1. He formed the strongest military the galaxy had ever known and it was likely much more unified than at any other point in history.

@@hanmagreek it doesn't degrade anakins actions when you think about it. Rey would never had succeeded if Palpatine hadn't been chucked down the chute by Vader and injured. I thought it was carefully handled and respectful of all the movies, even 8. Which I detest.

This is why Palpatine is my favorite character in Star Wars. He’s powerful, intelligent, cunning and badass. He orchestrated the entire clone war, wiped out most of the Jedi and controlled the galaxy for 20+ years. And even after he “died” he still stood in the shadows waiting for the right time to make himself known again. No one is like him.

The first order was nothing but a meer front for what was really going on the restoration and the rebuild of the galactic empire on exagol the planet of the sith were the emporer was controlling everything from the shadows or the sidelines , the first order was constructed by the emporer using the dark side force to influence the remaining imperials to act as distraction to hide what was really going on on exagol , palpatine still had total control of the galaxy pulling the strings even though the new republic taught that they were now incharged , the new republic and even the first order was just puppets because why would they just welcome a new imperial force KNOW as the first order and not do anything against it , that led to the first order using star killer base to blow up the new republic and by then the construction of the sith fleet to already being built and the restoration of the galactic empire, in plain sight like i said above the first order were just puppets a charade later taking off it's mask to be the restoration of the galactic empire

I believe palatine already looked that and his lighting just revealed his true identity. I think he had become so twisted by the dark side the force that it turned him look that way and somehow he was able to keep it a secret.

There were sorceries to hide your true nature in EU.. In Bane novels, Darth Zannah fucking walks in and out of the Jedi Temple, Jedi non the wiser. Though she didn't change her appearance through the force, if that can be done, it is logical the Sith would've found a way to do it in the 1000 years of dramatic build up, called the rule of two.

Well... George Lucas thought about it and it was his personal headcanon. I came to terms with Star Wars being a disappointing soap opera at its core, instead of a cool Sci-Fi adventure. (source: Script of Episode III, interviews and plans/scripts of a TV series, which was canceled)

I’ve seen the Rise of Skywalker, it’s easily the best Disney Star Wars movie, and palpatine has one moment that’s truly satisfying. I’d give it 9/10

my favorite drink is mountain dew as in dew it and my second favorite is coke cause it's as black as my heart

Oluf The Explorer Daisy Ridley's portrayal of Rey almost mirrors the portrayal of Mary Corleone by Sofia Coppola in The Godfather Part III. Sofia's character died at the end of Part III (spoiler alert) and it is a huge relief because her acting was terrible. Also palpatine says "I can't hold it any longer". He could have been talking about the kind appearance he had kept up, and how he was allowing the Sith form to shine through

Disney :-"the emperor is said to play a major part of episode 9" Also Disney:- Hey let's give Palpatine like what ten minutes of screen time and let's make him appear like a total fool"

I just realized something. When Palpatine was talking about how Plagueis was able to bring back the ones he loved, but not himself, Palpatine perfected the power to save himself instead because now he's on Episode 9. He didn't revive Padme because he was going to save himself.

Sith can transfer their life forces into objects, that is why Darth Vader’s mask was so important in the sequels and in episode 9

Anakin turning to the dark side is more compelling when the reason he does it is to save his family. Imo. It makes Vader a more dynamic character and is in line with his confliction when fighting his son Luke in the originally trilogy

I have ALWAYS said how coincidental it was that Sidious tells Anakin about how his Master could create life even turning to him as he said it when we all know Anakin was created by the force. It was always a theory of mine that Palpatine created Ani and I'm so pumped to get the affirmation that it almost was that way.

I think it's definitely the best of the trilogy. If I compare it to all the Disney SW films it's behind R1 though.

Even though I can understand why Lucas changed the storyline so that Anakin's lineage stayed a mystery, the reveal that Palpatine had manipulated the force to make life would have made the fact that he bothered at all to retrieve him from Mustafar and put so much time and energy into rebuilding him with cybernetics make a lot more sense.

I still believe that palpatine’s face just was melted by windy, I really don’t believe it was his true form.

Actually it was. Nobody else had their face melted by the lightnings in Star Wars, also as the video said, why would the lightnings make his teeth and his nails rot ? Because it was his true appearance, he was disfigured by the dark side. Just like Snoke. He just used a Sith ritual to look regular to other people, and Jedi.

NO SPOILER. I’ve never been a hater or a toxic fan, I’ve watched the movie all excited and with good intentions, but being you a die hard SW fan as I am, you will be so incredibly mad when you walk out the cinema

Malfred 23 There are too many things that make no sense or (and that’s even worse) are not explained at all!! You May enjoy as a movie but if you’re passioned about the saga (which includes comics etc) you can’t avoid to be disgusted by this movie. And also because there are some elements that are incredibly good (won’t say anything yet) but overall it’s a true mess

Nope rey is the granddaughter of palpatine, ben turrns to the light side and both rey and ben kinda battles the emperor with ben holding his mothers blue lightsaber, but then ben dies, rey burries their lightsabers and randomly gets a yellow one (and she fucking lies that she is a skywalker)

The insane amount of Star Destroyers appearing out of nowhere makes me think the Star Forge from KOTOR, or something like it, plays a part in this. It straight up mirrors the dark side ending scene where Revan uses the Star Forge to create an armada to invade the republic.

he does see the future because he had Darth vader´s suit too soon . Meaning that he foreshadowed/predicted darth veders/anakin defeat

Yeah everything about the prequels was great. The story, duels, music, etc. It was the execution that was bad. Almost the opposite of the new sequel trilogy

Ian McDiarmid LOVED that roll and he did it so well. You can tell that he had a blast despite how shitty that last film was

Won’t be good cause Rey kills palps!!!

I just saw the movie and im sad to say that i think you're gonna be disappointed. This movie proves that this trilogy never should've been done. The saga ended perfectly in episode 6. This movie took that ending, shoved it down a trash compactor and ended it way worse. I had low expectations for this movie and they weren't met. I can't really talk about the movie without mentioning spoilers to I'll just leave it at that, but if you have read the leaks you already know how it goes because they are basically 99% true.
