Nostalgia should be the main focal point in the third movie. If someone feels nostalgia they remember their childhood, like BING BONG. Which can bring him back!

When we see everyone else’s emotions..they look like them but Riley, she’s unique I guess.

I think its actually very realistic that Riley doesn’t interact with that akward boy from the end of the first movie again Many of us guys at that age either don’t have the courage to continue to try and pursue a girl or the girl tells us she’s not interested

She literally does interact with him again, in the short, "Riley's First Date?" By all accounts, it's just platonic friendship. Inside his head, he's just chilling out, and Riley says it's a group hang out.

I would love to know why Riley's emotions are both male and female. Whenever we zoom into the head of anyone else, their emotions all match the gender of that person. All of her dad's emotions are male, and all of her mom's emotions are female, and all of the boy's emotions are all boys. But Riley's emotions are presented as both genders. I think the actual answer is just that Disney didn't want to make their main voice cast that female-heavy. But I think their decision to do that has some really interesting implications regarding Riley's gender.

Yeah, this may be somehow connected to the way gender identity develops with age

Although people do feel other emotions, the five we got ever since the first movie are actually the basic emotions that every single sentient being experiences, so it's logic that Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust and Fear get the spotlight, even in adults. All the other emotions are the result of a much developed and complex mind: Anxiety is fearing something that hasn't happened, Envy is coveting something another has, Embarrassment is feeling awkward about something and Ennui (or Boredom) is to distance oneself from anything of no interest and/or "keep it cool". All those more complex emotions are felt to a much greater extend when one is older and has a more understanding of their surroundings, making sense why they only appeared in Riley's mind when she entered puberty.

I got one (this also includes spoilers for the second movie): How strong are certain non core memories? As established in the first movie, any memories that fade or rendered obsolete are discarded into the memory dump. However, how does the Triple Dent Gum commercial remain stronger than Riley's other emotions? Even as Riley is a teen in the second film, the Triple Dent Gum commercial is alive and well, as it is once again randomly sent to headquarters. However, I loved how they continued that running gag from the first film.

This Franchise needs a Netflix Series. It’s the only way we’ll get to see ALL of the emotions. FYI shame & guilt are 2 separate emotions. Yes they go hand in hand but they are NOT one in the same. It’s like saying sadness and depression are the same emotion when they’re not

With the Bing Bong thing, another Easter egg happens when the emotions go through Riley’s parade of future career balloons. You can see one of Riley as an astronaut, which is a throw back to Bing Bong wanting to take Riley to the moon

I have a few questions about the “Inside Out” franchise. 1. What is Riley’s sexuality? The main reason I ask this is simply because Riley’s mom’s emotions are all female, while her dad’s emotions are all male. Riley has 6 emotions that are female, while Anger, Fear, and Embarrassment are dudes, and I think Ennui is a hermaphrodite. Plus she had feelings for Jordan and the other 2 unnamed boys, plus Lance on Mt. Crushmore. And I think she had feelings for Valentina. 2. Does Riley love as much as she hates Lance Slashblade? I ask that because Neither Joy, nor Sadness had feelings for Lance. Only Disgust. In the musical “Wicked” in the music number, “What is this feeling?”, where Elphaba and Glinda are singing about their unknown feelings for each other, based on love and hate. And 3. Does Riley have affectionate feelings for Valentina? Riley was trying to make a first impression to get Valentina to like her. Plus what I asked about Riley’s sexuality from the first question. Plus we never see how Valentina’s emotions reacted to Riley’s behavior and words. Bonus Question. If Riley and Valentina both really and officially love each other, and become a couple. How are Riley’s parents going to react???

Listen, the answer to the first question is this: the creators wanted to diversify the characters because she is a main character, and her emotions are central characters and do not appear for two seconds like the emotions of the background characters, nothing but that. Second, you have to let go of this lesbian Riley obsession. People are allowed to admire someone without being in love with them. In the movie she clearly admires her, and wants to be her friend. You can no longer be someone's friend without loving them? If I want to be in someone's group, does that mean I want to marry them? I admire Albert Einstein, does that mean I'm in love with him? In addition, if the creators wanted to imply that she loves women, they should have put female characters in this mountain of love. The fact that only men appeared there means she is straight. And believe it or not, there is such a thing as "girls who like hockey and are straight". Therefore the question "if Riley and Val were to become a couple"? It is not relevant. Because it didn't happen and probably won't happen. One might equally ask "what if Riley's teacher adopts her"? Or "What if Riley's dad came out of the closet"? And you know what is the most problematic? Riley is only 13!!! and Val is at least 18 years old!!! The very fact that people want to see a young lesbian girl so much is disturbing. You missed the whole point of the movie by looking for LGBT characters (Anoy is female, deal with it). If you really want to see a 13 year old girl having a relationship with an 18 year old girl write a fanfiction or something. Do not impose your idea on reality. Give some respect to the creators of the movie. They decided to make Riley straight, so respect straight Riley, like you would respect lesbian Riley if the creators made her that way. If someone made Joy a male character because they wanted to see a male character at the center of the movie, would you like it? Riley is a good character the way she is. If it's hard for you to accept that she's straight, maybe you are homophobic on the other side.
