I got Side Effect after watching Aaron Terence Hughes' glowing review, and was struck by how overwhelming it was on first spray, but not in good way. Its potency reminded me of that awful "Poison" that some girls used to drown themselves with in the 80's, but... after that first tidal wave of scent that lasts half a minute or so, it settles into an incredibly seductive, exotic smell that will easily stay with you for a day, and yep, it's very hard to not smell your own wrists the entire time. It's pretty much the polar opposite of my usual favourite scents that are typically fresh and citric in nature, but I absolutely love it.

I wore rehab 2 days ago, and me being a really dark skin Dominican people don’t think I speak Spanish, this lady that was standing next to me with her daughter said in Spanish “ese hombre huele riquísimo” which translate to that men smells good as hell, that made my day

Initios atomic rose omg, haven't smelled such a natural smelling rose like it ever... nothing comes close to it and I'm a guy and love to bang rock with it... sometime I layer oud for greatness but when I want to just lounge and just enjoy the moment I put on initios atomic rose I hope they never discontinue or touch it. It's just a blessing... ❤❤❤

Great rundown of the brand! I’m curious now to see if the local Neiman Marcus will also have them in store. I know Diptyque isn’t at the location 20 minutes away, but it’s present at another store 30 minutes away. It’s hard to get a feel for some brands like Initio, when you can’t just drive down to the local store and sample them. Luckily, I’ve been happy with the several Initio bottles I’ve picked up. Rehab, Side Effect, and Blessed Baraka would be my top 3 out of the six I have.

Side Effect from it's first spray, reminded me of those peach gummy rings (which is weird because I haven't eaten those since I was a child), then it reminded me of rum fruit cake. Then a dessert with apples, minus the apples. It's like being in a mom and pop diner and seeing the dessert spinner and getting to smell all the great food in the diner. Then it dried down more and I picked up on an oud and spice vibe. Side effect is so metamorphic and just reminds me of so many different things. It's definitely not a linear fragrance. It just goes in so many positive directions. It might be the hedione triggering so many different memories of things I haven't smelled in a long time.

Christopher Bird All 3 are solid, I like Rehab the most it’s a little more versatile than the other 2, IMO the others are more night out fall and winter scents. You can wear Rehab day night, fall winter and spring.

Great review as always..I come to your reviews before I buy.. where do you find the information about what Fragrances has hedione and how much hedione they have?

Devine attraction is the most authentic legitimate real leather scent I have ever smelled. I bought a pair of Thursday boots and the leather smell is the same as Devine Attraction. I love this thing is sooo good.

I hope you and everyone else at the event has a great time 🙏 I own psychedelic love by them but haven't tried anything else from the house. So this was incredibly helpful and appreciate your Insight on these , quite a few that I love the sound of. So I'll used this as a jump off point to try the rest of the house this year 🙏 Sotd is orto parisi terroni .

They're both excellent fragrances, but I would purchase Carlisle because I see myself wearing that one more often. I have to be in the mood to wear Ani.

I finally tried Absolute aphrodisiac. What a nice vanilla amber blend. It reminds me of Ambre sultan.

I know Initio says to layer the fragrances for better results, but do you feel it’s necessary to do so? Like how you mentioned Magnetic Blend No. 8 with Side Effect, is Side Effect good on it’s own? Besides the Magnetic Blends, would you recommend layering it with anything else?

I’m absolutely torn because fall basically starts for me in about 2 weeks so I’m transitioning into purchasing fall/winter frags and I’m on the fence between Gucci guilty absolute but I also have the opportunity to buy Bvlgari aqua amara and I know it’s rarity. Should I pick the aqua amara before it’s too late?

Aqua Amara is nice, but it's not necessarily the first fragrance that comes to mind when I think of fall. I would say get it though!

Atomic Rose is 💞💞💞 a deeper Delina and still unisex. Sad it wasn’t on this list but I agree with those top 3 picks! OFG is my favorite Oud

I’ve been wearing frags for a long time but recently starting collecting more lately. I got my first 2 ever compliments, onnnnn Oud for Greatness 🤘🏼 It was the same night as well which is insane. I haven’t worn Side Effect but I have smelt it, and I agree it’s also my number 1 best smelling Initio. Oud for Greatness is number 2, and Rehab third. I only smelt Atomic rose after those 3. I really want to smell Blessed Baraka. Not sure if I should blind buy it? I like the characteristics of musky mixed with some sweetness
