I remember one time, my little brother and I were watching The Emperor's New Groove, I was old enough to understand the joke behind Kuzco and Pacha's reaction to the hidden dagger, but my brother didn't get it. He could tell they were relieved to see the dagger, but he didn't know why. So he asked me "What did they think they were going to see?" Since my bro was still kinda young for that stuff, I just replied "Her underpants" and left it at that. And since my brother was right in the middle of the underpants-are-hilarious stage, he still thought the joke was funny even without getting all the implications.

I don't necessarily feel that joke is all that "adult" anyway. Even before understanding the sexual implications, kids pretty much understand different body parts from a fairly early age, and since it's established that Yzma is supposed to be really ugly, I think a kid can still not understand about the birds and the bees and still more or less get that joke.

@@dreamguardian8320 But that’s what makes The Legend of Sleepy Hollow a great Halloween movie. It’s BECAUSE it’s scary which makes it good. I miss the old Disney when they would have adult themes in their movies as well as dark and scary stuff. Not everything needs to be fluff and shit. That’s why their older movies are beloved by many of us adults. Their movies today are pretty tamed compared to their older ones.

@@dreamguardian8320 Me too on Don Bluth’s films as well. I do agree that parents need to figure out what’s ok for their kids to watch and other things but making things way too tame like you said is just overdoing it. Disney needs to go back to their old style with the subtle adult jokes that we can appreciate. Also, I know they are going for female empowerment and whatnot but there’s NOTHING wrong with having the guy fight for the girl in movies. Not everything has to be woman needs no man type of trope to all the feminazis out there. I’m a woman and could give two shits if a guy is the protector of the woman. I’m not going to be offended just because the guy saves the day or there’s a damsel in distress.

so screaming at yzma flashing her thigh was rude but not "everybody hits their stride... you just hit yours 50 years ago"? or "you've been around here a long time, and i really mean a long time, and it might be difficult for someone of your age adjusting to the private sector. i mean let's face it, you're no spring chicken, and i mean that in the best possible way." kuzco was BRUTAL lol

The scene came on and my oldest cousin turned to his sophomore brother and said "You know what that means right? " my 8 year old brother was also right there and was confused when we all started laughing

Worst was when Timothy tells Dumbo to blow a square one. Squares are two dimensional. Better had he said blow a cuboid one or a cube one if the sides are of equal length. Exposing kids to some fairly mild sexual innuendo is probably less damaging than encouraging slopping thinking in math and science concepts.
