Another great video guys. Re. The scoop jug and digging out, am I the only one who picks up the grain basket and just tips the grain in the green bin? 😂

Yep we often do that for the G30 / Brewzilla. BUT have also lost various stainless parts in the process as well;) once you get bigger systems or ones that are built in place then scooping out is a must.

I have the stainless mash paddle but got to say I prefer the whisk/lightsaber for mashing in! 😂 If your system is suitable for one then a mash bag to line the tun (not just for BIAB!) makes clearing out the grain so much easier and in some cases can help avoid the dreaded stuck mash...

Yep love the lightsaber! Easy in the dishwasher too. I have never understood how using a grain bag can stop a stuck mash though? Much prefer to get grain crush and temperatures sorted to limit the chance.

I had to make my own. Kegland's doesn't handle hot water; and the home-made one does. This enables me to have it controll the amount of sparge water in addition to the rest of the water in the process

Gents. Decent thermometer is a must after wort chilling to make sure pitching yeast in the wort is at a safe temperature

Great video again guys! Couple more purchases to add to the list 😅 One of my favourite bits of kit is my GF wortometer. Tracking temp coming from the CFC when transferring is so much easier and saves time and money heating/chilling for yeast pitching if you transfer and the worts too hot or cold.

Great video as always! I'm lucky enough to have slowly built up most of these items over time. I will second the flow control disconnects, I bought one as a test last year and grabbed a 2nd one recently but somehow managed to forget that I also needed another adapter. The Flow Control QDs have a 5/16" output on them but my tap shanks have 3/8" coming off them. Thought it might be worth mentioning so people are aware that they might need other adapters depending on their set up.

So many brewers say refractometers are only acurate for prefermentation readings, its so simple to use them during fermentation , it takes me 1 minute of calculation on the brewfather or northern brewer app, this also gives you the ABV. i just dab a finger of sampled beer on the screen, why mess up a syringe. Good show guys .

The refractometer is definitely a must have but as I found out during our brew day there are various types out there with different measuring scales. Ones for wine, salt content. If in doubt use the brix scale and conversion to get the OG readings. Buying the ones from TMM would be a safe bet 🍻

Another first class video👍 I have most of those items but not the scooping jug. As for the powdered form of Campden tablets, Well that got me thinking maybe I should buy some? I normally put my mash and sparge water in the night before brewday so the chlorine dissipates over 12 hours or so. Maybe using campden tablets would improve in this process? Just ordered the kegland fermenter on special offer with you and the heat belt, it should be coming Tuesday.i was going to buy it very soon but when the special offer came on I jumped at it👍👍👍

Cheers for the shout out guys. I forgot to mention a giant coalnder over a bucket when I'm rinsing out the mash tun or kettle. It strains most ofthe solids out from the rinse water. It saves me having to lug the 100L mash tun up the garden to clean it down next to the drain. Also, I would never get it all 100% into the drain from the MT so there would be bits of malt everywhere potentially attracting rodents, much easier with a bucket of the fines, colander gets emptied into green bin.
