If anyone had ever measured the vertical of Wilt Chamberlain in his prime, he would have been at or near the top of this list. And he was 7'2", and the strongest man who ever played. If you've never done a video on Wilt, and his unbelievable athleticism, you should. He was bigger than life - I personally feel he's the greatest basketball player who lived, but it is practically beyond dispute that he's the greatest athlete who ever lived.

They listed Spud at 5'7" when he was in that dunk contest, but the NBA has been known to exaggerate heights a little. Now they also lost players as shorter than they really are bc they stick with their pre-draft measurements even though the players are so young now a lot of them haven't finished growing when they get drafted.

8:47 they measure verticals in a couple of ways that are congruent to each other. One is by length of your peak height of the ground (like the NFL combine for example). The other is having a digital floormat beneath the athlete where they time how long you stay in the air before your feet land back down. There is some other science mumbo gumbo that I don’t know personally. 😂

There’s a lot of short guys that know how to slam dunk. Street ball is different from NBA. Short guys bring the heat. They play hard, fast and in your face. The crowd will chew you out if your weak. Every summer we had TIN CANTEEN. Different communities compete. Play hard or go home. Tin Canteen (Rucker Park) is the birth of slam dunks. I grow up in NY every summer we had Tin Canteens which consist of communities competing in basketball. I’ve been to several Ruckers games back in the day. Dr. J was from my hometown he’s the one who elevated dunks. It use to be banned from professional basketball. In my day a lot of short guys were beast. Please respect my opinion what I observed as a youth. Now they have all these sponsors promoting slam dunks. If you can’t dunk during a game is a joke too ME.
