I had an FZ07 for 3 years of city commuting, and weekend road trips. Absolutely amazing bike. Reliable as all hell, always puts a smile on your face, inexpensive, and easy to maintain in your own garage with an easy maintenance schedule. So much to enjoy. My only complaint, after 3.5 hrs or longer in that seat and my 5' 9" body would start getting cramped in the legs and knees. (But i wrecked my knees in my youth)

I ride a triumph street scrambler everyday (almost) my commute is 20 miles each way and I have to do a lot of lane splitting. The only things that get through smaller gaps than me are scooters and a crazy girl on a CBR250. I ride in all weather and it has never missed a beat. Highly recommend giving it a go.

Honda NC750X is so underrated. Riding it hard I still get 70 mpg. That matters today. Lots of torque down low & in the mid-range. It's not a track bike though you could do that if you wanted. Cruising at 80 mph the engine is just doing 4,000 rpm.

Duderino the Yamaha WR reminds me of the Yamaha DT125 of the early 90's. The DT 125 only had something like 20 HP maybe less but it was a 2 stroke and although you couldn't make it past 120 Kph or 70 Mph it was the most nimble and fast bike I ever rode in that range. It was THE bike to get around.

I love the r ninet, but it's the worst city bike of the three. The bobber was probably the best, but there was something about the rebel that made me really miss it after selling. Maybe it was the light weight and flickable agility. In any case, I should've never sold that bike.

Super Cub is a motorcycle: 17inch wheels, manual gearbox, controls are traditional motorcycle layout, & engine is cradled in the frame. The only allowance to it being a "scooter" is auto (centrifugal) clutch & the engine is laid out horizonal, both features found in motorcycle as well. So it's a motorcycle.

I considered the 401 and 701, both great looking bikes! I went with the Honda CB1000 which has a similar styling (albeit I like the Husq’s better) but of course the Honda has better dealer support, better reliability and more power. Weight is zero issues. I think one of the smaller CBs could have made the list.

@@graydensgarage haven’t rode the MT09 but I do have a Tenere 700 which uses the same engine as the MT07 and it’s a pretty fun/zippy engine. I’d imagine the MT09 is even better and I think that’s the real difference between the MT and CB outside of styling of course. The CB is a pretty tame bike, u really have to get the rpm’s to about 5k and then it comes alive whereas the MT I’d imagine has more upfront power. Don’t get me wrong the CB is plenty powerful but for just screwing around town I’d imagine the MT is more fun. Still love the CB and think I have 25k miles on it and runs great/no issues but u can probably expect the same from a Yamaha

@@graydensgarage the CB isn’t a neutral seating position, there is a little bit of weight on your wrists so an hour on the highway is no problem but if you plan on doing a lot of miles it will get comfortable. Obviously much mort comfortable than a sport bike. Another problem with naked bikes and highways…..u have zero wind protection. Get up to 70-80 mph and u start to get pounded by wind. I commute on mine all the time and love it but I try to not use highways for extended periods for these reason. Do love the look of the bike and lots of power but forgiving if that makes sense.

I can tell you from experience a Multistrada is not a great city bike. Engine is way to high strung for the city. Its a bike that just wants to go and in the city its bucking at low rpm, overheating and not a pleasant ride at all.

@@benpielstick I have no ridden the v4 model either but i doubt its that much different from the V2. The motor is just too top end biased, it makes too much power for the city( yes there is such a thing) and when i mad mine any time i was in stop and go it was running 250f and about to overheat constantly. The bottom line, the Multi is a brilliant open road tourer, horrible city bike.

Ducati Diavel. Gorgeous. Nothing like it visually. Makes a statement. Handles virtually as well as any super naked. Much lighter than it looks. Stupid quick. Gobs of power and torque. Comfortable upright position for old guys like me. Expensive new but depreciates rapidly so low mileage used prices are very reasonable. The only bike I would consider over it is Aprilia Tuono.

The Sondors Metacycle is another urban electric option that I'm kind of in love with. LOW price ($5k), hub motor so no chain. Price low because they make to order, so there's a lead time on purchase. The gap on the frame looks cool as is, but there'll be future options for an extra battery, cargo, or a fast charger. Battery is removable, though heavy (~50 lbs.). I don't work for the company and they're not paying me; I just like it a lot.

I've got my big 750lbs 38MPG cruiser that is a blast to ride. My second bike needs to be fun, quick, and MUCH lighter. Biggest problem with that is the market is saturated with awesome choices for reasonable prices. Option paralysis is real. Hahahaha Lately I've been tinkering with the thought of an electric bike for commuting. But.... The crappy range means nearly zero playful rides on the weekend.....
