Honestly surprised the Street Triple didn't win top spot. MCN voted it bike of the decade, after all. I've test ridden one and they really are impeccable. Docile enough to commute on, that turns into a grin inducing animal when you give it some beans. And the howl from the airbox is quite unique.
Anyone who titles their video as "soundcheck of x bike" but just idles the thing belongs in hell.

I was down to 4 bikes: Monster, ZRX, 919, Buell. I got the 919. I always wanted to see how the 919 compared to the Monster in terms of handling the twisties and the 919 needs a bit of suspension work to be great, but otherwise, very happy with the 919 and they seem to be value priced.

As soon as you said that the Ducati monster is second, because of accessibility, I knew the No.1 will be the SV650. Similar mechanics, but way more common everywhere.

Good choices!! MT07/09 are both great bikes but SV650 deserves the win. Held its game for a long time, had its Brittany Spears moment with the gladius and came back stronger with the 3rd gen! Plus I've a got a 2017 so that helps my opinion!

Hey Slamie Boobs, Thanks to you, I just bought my first bike last week! Its an MT09 and I am so in love with it
Before the B-King and the BMW K1200R, there was the naked Blackbird, also known as the Honda X11. The X11 has been my daily ride for the last 13 years
My first naked was a Bandit 600, second naked was a Triumph Speed Triple and now I own a 2019 SV650. Love them.
Thanks for putting the great 919 on the list! MUCH LOVE!
Got a 2016 Triumph Street Triple as my first bike yesterday and properly rode it for the first time today. I absolutely love it. Awesome bike

I totally agree. I have a sv650 from '99. It's absolutely the most fun you can have on a medium naked bike and you can find good ones for 2000$ sometimes!
I think you nailed the final two choices, noice!
The gen1 aprilia tuono is the original hypernaked streetfighter hooligan and should of definitely been on the list. That bike is what started it all.

I love that the sv650 made top spot. I knew it would be on this list tho. I have never owned one personally, but it's like one of my dream bikes.
Hey hey yammie glad my bike made the list ,number 5 👍great video man keep them coming
Yammie, How about a future presentation on the best street bikes to sport a kick starter? Yes, there are so many riders that don't know that street motorcycles once had these mechanisms, but it could serve as an educational vehicle ( pun intended ) for presenting a part of motorcyclings glorious past.
The Aprilia:listen to my badass akropoplastic exhaust... My Buell xb : Hold My Beer...
Passed my bike test in 99 and the SV was my first bike, absolutely loved it
My current motorcycle is a 2021 Street Triple R, but my previous was a 2007 SV650S. It definitely deserved the number 1 spot. The power wasn't insane but the torque and the lovely exhaust note was amazing.
"Looking back in hindsight with 20-20 vision... Get it? Get it? " Dat dad joke tho. Priceless.
Damn, I appreciate the fact that you include exhaust sound bytes. I know, aftermarket systems [insert excuse here], but I appreciate it. 🤙
Thanks, this video made my day. my first bike was a VTR250. From then on, I only wanted naked bikes. My 2nd bike was a Triumph Street Triple R, i did my first mono on that bike. After that I had a 2010 FZ1n, and that bike was modified and scare the poop out of me. I'm now on an SV650. I got it over a lot of recommendations by friends, and I love it. It just sounds so good. and it's just great to ride.
2014 street triple. Sweet bike. Awesome sound (with aftermarket slip on) no regrets.
Great video! Perfect list and get like original yammi with current production value. Didn’t hurt that I thought your ranking was spot on. I do have a soft spot for my FZ07 tho...
Finally... Great content
You just had to cut the video right when the Aprilia Tuono started revving! Nevermind, I'll go rev my own bike 😁
I agree with your assessment thanks for putting this video together.
Yammie!!! U forgot to mention the sv1000 naked in your #1 spot, my bike feels slighted and doesnt want to run now, see what ur doing to your fans? Love your content, keep it up yams, i need more podcasts 😅😅😎😎
Honorary mention: Buell XB9, XB12 & 1125C/CR
We all know triumphs are the best ~Yammie Noob
Thanks for throwing the EFF ZED ONE in there. I am 60 years old, and I never had this much fun in my life. I been on one for just less than a year, and it hasn't killed me 😆
I understand the concept, and I’ve owned and ridden some of the bikes that made your list, but I’d like to register that the best naked sport bike I’ve ridden is the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 RR back in 2013. It was an espiritual experience 🙂
I have a Suzuki sv650 2017 and i put a exhaust pipe competition werques and the sound is brutal, good video bro
The B-king handled like a barge which went completely against the grain for hypernakeds. The BMW K1200R is damn rapid, really nice to ride too.
How did the Suzuki 1250 Bandit not make this list? Very popular in the US and Europe.

Not a chance. They came way after the Monster and the Speed Triple.
My dad has owned like 6 SV650s over the years. He currently has two, one he has liveried up in Suzuki Ecstar GP colours and the other is a yellow gold streetfighter he spent half a year building. Both gorgeous and smooth riding
Agree with the Speed Triple. I remember watching Mission Impossible 2 in TV and there's a scene where Tom Cruise is riding a Speed Triple - man that was so cool :D That was the point in my life where I started thinking about motorcycles - especially triumph motorcycles.. Triples are still sexy - but the round headlights were awesome.
I love my 2003 Sv 650 . Sounds amazing and pretty quick
The KTM super duke 990 was pretty cool too always wanted one when I Was younger.
The SV650 came at the right time to be successful. Sporting V-twins were really taking off thanks to Ducati pushing Honda and Suzuki to develop racing bikes to compete against them on the track, which provided exposure and an alternative to 15 years of 4-cylinder sport bike convention. Prior V-twin street bikes like the Hawk 650 and VX800 were objectively great bikes, but came at a time when people were only interested in the screaming inlines that came about in the late 80's and early 90's. My personal favorite naked is a bike closely connected to several of the bikes on this list despite not being on it, nor being very remember able at all. The Bandit 400 is nearly a match for the 1st gen SV in every respect and has a 14K rpm inline GSX-R engine despite being pushed as an "entry level" bike. It also looks a hell of a lot like a Ducati Monster despite being released several years prior. The GSF400 Bandit had all the character and fun that the GS500E sorely lacked, even though the 500E sold well and lasted for decades as a more pedestrian, but near rival for the SV650. The later air-cooled Bandit 600/1200 did OK, but in my opinion never had the slick look and racer-naked feel of the original, now forgotten Bandit.
Were you trying to stop my heart with that MT-09 SOUNDCHECK?
Papa yam just knows what content his squidlets crave
Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's a fun watch.
Ha! That's awesome! My first bike was a '82 CB750SC. And my second is(soon to be was) the Honda 919(Hornet) . I've been up and down and across the nation on that thing. Such a sweet, effortless, powerful ride. Meanwhile the 750SC was a black and chrome BEAST with 4 into 4 exhaust that I still haven't heard anything like again. Loved that thing. So glad to see them both here.
Thanks for the sound check.
Had a 2008 B King and it was absolutely ridiculous. I miss that bike everyday.
Did my Direct Access training and tests on an SV650, good bike
OMG i love your videos
Nailed it for Number one. I bought my first bike in 1999 and I drooled over the SV650. Ended up buying a used Honda VTR Firestorm which was one heck of a bike. But I think I may finally have to get that SV or maybe the CB650R decisions decisions.
Thoughts on the Honda CB500F? Planning on getting it once the quarantine is over as my first bike even though I have been practicing on my brothers Yamaha r3.
Honorable Mention: Kawasaki (ZR250) Balius. Not a large engine, not super fast, but it's an inline 4-cyl with a redline of 19k. We'll never get a naked screamer like this again :(
@jacksonallan954

All the Japanese manufacturers had a version of the same idea of an over-engineered naked four-cylinder 250 in the 1990s: the Hornet 250 for Honda, the Balius for Kawasaki, the Bandit 250 for Suzuki, and the Zeal for Yamaha. All were great fun.

@@jacksonallan954 An ex-girlfriend was a naked screamer, too. I might miss her sometimes but the neighbours probably don't. Edit: but seriously: I'm keeping an eye on my local sales for all of these. But not the ex.
Totally surprised to see the #1 but very glad!! I've had two both S models 2nd generation. One of each size! Looking at another one this time 2019/2020X model cafe style! I absolutely enjoyed the video and it's finale!
Missed Honda cb600f Hornet, one of the most successful naked all time. A icon, a legend.
Warms my heart that the first bike mentioned was the first bike I owned. ‘77 CB750 in the early 90’s. A brick with wheels.
You put the duke just a few spots too low for my liking. It is the ultimate embodiment of what a naked should be.
@Girthology

Yah, nakeds shouldn't just be racers with no fairings, higher bars, and detuned motors. No, they should be fun, torquey hoon machines and SD1290 is if you took that concept to 11. Though as a 1290 owner I might be biased..

I own a 1st gen SV650 with full exhaust and can confirm it sounds beautiful. It is like if a sport bike and a Harley had a baby and sold it for $2k lol.
Yess! for the K12R BMW. Have one, Love it!
As a side note I live within 30 minutes of the mountain highways being shown. Can't wait to take my bike on that 26 mile mountain role.
Every one of the bikes in the soundclip has an aftermarket exhaust, which every proper owner should do! 👍
Love how you start the setup with rules then immediately braking the rules on the first bike 😜
Proud owner of 1999 Suzuki SV 650 here.
Since subscribing to Yammie all the way from South Africa... I’ve fallen in love with naked sports bikes especially Kawasaki Z650
You got this list rake for sure
You are so right about the Super Duke & FZ1. Not so about the small Suzuki but hey ho, we cant all agree. Good vid.
Hey Yammie ever thought of doing twitch
Great list! I guess the 03 SV1000 wasn't around long enough to make a dent, but I love mine.
You guys don't get the Honda Super Four huh?
Did not expect a triumph. The sv650 makes sense. The 650 and sv1000 were just amazing.
I had a Honda 919 hornet it was a torque monster I also had a 03 Kawasaki z1000 fast bike had a 08 Yamaha fz6 and a 06 vrod vrscr the original street rod its basically a vrod for track you sat straight up the pegs were set back instead of forward controls it was fun hitting curves I love naked sport bikes
I rode a sv650 fir the first time about a month ago , I heard a lot of hype but thought it's guna be some boring beginer bike and people only say its good because it's a first bike and it gets the job done . Boy was I wrong , I loved it, it feels easy to ride yes but gas a proper muscular feel, with a can on it sounded awesome, like a muscle car on 2 wheels and has plenty of usable fun power. Even a beginer can pin the throttle and learn to launch that thing and it will beat pretty much anything to 60, I had so much fun on it, I think ite awesome, and I ride litre bikes normally, I rode a z650 and the sv650 is much better , the cbr650 is awesome too, but I feel the sv650 has more character the way it rides. Too look at the sv650 looks a little boring but when I rode it my mind was changed, its a deceiving bike, but awesome.
Starting at like 8:35 when youre talking about the superduke youre showing footage of a nuda900r. You likely know this though im guessin
I had a 2001 SV 650s used with 17k km for 1800 € in 2008. Was a great bike 👍
As an longtime (old) rider, I love the top choice of the SV650. I have ridden naked bikes almost always. The lighter (under900cc/400lbs) would always be my choice. Wear your gear & keep it under a 100. Currently riding a 1200GS. this one isn't naked but has close to the same HP/weight as a KTM super duke
As far as styling, the 2001 MV Agusta 750 Brutale kicked the naked bike into a thing of beauty
I have a 2001 Ducati Monster 750. I think you got your list right.
i can feel that in this voice over you had your t-shirt tucked in
