I completely disagree. Astronema has to be one of the most famous villains in Power Rangers history. She has a full backstory, a little romance with Zhane, treats Ecliptor with respect since she was raised as a child, has a spin-off comic to herself and was redeem as Karone in Lost Galaxy. All Rita did was complain having a headache, married Zedd, dumbed down in MMPR Season 3. Hell, she didn’t even fight the rangers and completely botches her own plans without even thinking.

important note on Rita: after the death of Zordon during the finale of In Space, she was turned good alongside Zedd, Divatox and Karone/Astronema. Rita eventually became the Mystic Mother, an important figure within the storyline to Mystic Force

@@natwalsh2710 with Rita/Mystic Mother, I think it's a great bit of lore & character development. In the original Sentai they simply cast the same actress for both roles but they weren't meant to be connected at all. Definitely a fun change from the source material

Astronema was my ultimate female villain in the Power Rangers series. Rita Repulsa may be nostalgic for me, but Astronema was/is my fave!!

Fun fact about Trakeena, her actress Amy Miller and Reggie Rolle, the Lost Galaxy Green Ranger, fell in love on set and began dating. They got married after the series wrapped and are still married to this day and are the proud parents of three children.

She's a yardstick when it comes to villains. That being said I'd actually bump her down to third. In terms of what they actually accomplish, growth shown, and how much of threat they actually are. Astronema and Trakeena just plain outclass her.

As with ranking the Rangers themselves, i think a lot of people put anything MMPR related at the top, simply because they were the first ones to do it. There is something to be said about being the originator, but that doesn't necessarily make you the best. Rita is definitely in that category. She may have been the first villain, but there wasn't really a lot of depth to her, or development outside of getting married to Lord Zedd... which honestly didn't really change anything whatsoever lol. And in the grand scheme of things, in terms of accomplishments and depth, Rita is easily lower tier. I honestly would've put Astronema and Trakeena above her. The former had a great back-story and character arc, while the latter had great development, going from spoiled daddy's girl, to hardened, no-holds barred menace, willing to make suicide bombers out of her armies.

@@thedefinitionisthis If anything Trakeena could have been #1. I absolutely do not like Power Rangers In Space so putting Astrenoma as the best female bad guy is like "meh" to me. Outside of creating thw Psycho Rangers I just didn't like or was intrested in her as a bad guy, if anything I enjoy her more as a ranger. Also I'm not putting Rita on this list just because shes the Original Big Bad, Rita to me is just a better bad guy.

When Astronema becomes good the first time during “ In Space “ she has a purple hair clip in hair , she also has purple on her jump suit and purple is her signature color . Had she stayed good she could’ve became the purple space ranger .

Um, where's Scorpina? She used to give the OG rangers hands for days.

It was a very good choice that Astronema tops this list. Not only she was a great, smart, tough & a drop dead gorgeous villain, but also she was the greatest villain to ever appear in any Power Rangers season, Power Rangers In Space, the greatest Power Rangers season period.

I love Toxica getting some love! Though Toxica and Jindrax were definitely more lovers then friends. Considering how jealous she got when Jindrax saved Princess Shayla, how Jindrax spun her around princess style when he brought her back to life, and how the two characters were original going to turn out to be Cole’s dead parents in the original script. Also kudos to you for putting Astronema at number one. She is the absolute best.

Not going to lie, for as many problems as Turbo had as a series I would have had Divatox fairly high on this list. If nothing else, she actually beats the Power Rangers. She was a legitimate threat and she had so much fun hamming it up on screen. I appreciate that she had a personality and that when it mattered, her army really came through and succeeded in pushing the Rangers into a corner.

How much I loved Jindrax and Toxica !!! Sometimes I hope so much for their return ... but for obvious reasons I know it's impossible ... but hope is always the last to die !!!

She beat her programming and was an ally to the Power Rangers (albeit very briefly) along with Ecliptor who was literally built to be evil (and beat his predetermination due to his loyalty to Astronema) and then got reprogrammed again by a reprogrammed and cybernetically enhanced Ecliptor to be evil again and even more evil. Her story arc was layered and very well written. There's also the fact she personally fought one of the rangers which was a first for a lead female villain.

@Movies and reactions i believe the reason they didn't have her on this list is because she's considered the WORST Power Rangers character in the universe. As in, they listed her #1, primarily because of not only her 'pretty pathetic' army, her 'pitiful lackeys' and not ot mention her ridiculous schemes of planting bombs with very long timers that would give the Turbo Rangers enough time to stop them from detonating. Not to mention her personality was all over the place, compated to Astronema, Tenaya 7 or Trakeena.

I only know Rita. Thats was my generation villian.

Technically she was mine too; however my brother was obsessed by Power Rangers so I know of lots of the other variations of the series! I hated a lot of them but quite enjoyed Lightspeed Rescue(when you've had no choice in TV for years, you'll complain no end about it-it took me nearly 10 years to have any say)!

I'm a simple man. I see the words "Power Rangers" and I immediately press like.

Dayu and Camille are my favorites. Actually now that I look back as well her origin seems a very bit similar to Ghost Rider except she works on the other side. She was a very sympathetic character in my opinion and the direction they took with her and Deker is why I would have put her a little higher on my list. As for Camille I mean all I will say is once Jarrod died in battle I was like "oh my God I actually feel sorry for her. They had so much chemistry and they just worked" plus I actually do remember sort of having a crush on her when I was younger. Not weird or anything just liked seeing her around you know

Astronema (Karone) was a badass female antagonist, but later turned out to be one of the greatest protagonists in "Lost Galaxy."

Psycho Pink was such a great villain especially in the “ In Space , Lost Galaxy “ team up episodes “ to the 10th Power & the power of pink “ . I also love Astronema . It’s funny how in “ In Space she pretends to be Ashley and at the end of the episode she says “ I wouldn’t want to be a power ranger anyway “ the. i'm just amazed how many versions there are of the rangers, i watched the originals with Rita as a kid, but that's about it. now there's been dozens of variations

Rita Repulsa is iconic, being the first ever villainess for the franchise and the first image ever seen by fans was her emerging from her dumpster in that now classic intro sequence. "Ahhhhh! After 10,000 years I'm free, time to conquer Earth!" That alone hooked kids looking for something new with their home entertainment outside of the usual cartoons and kiddie sitcom fare.

I can't decide who was more tragic; Astronema, Tenaya 7, or Dayu. Great female Power Rangers villains who were victims of really shitty circumstances.

When you put rita at #2 I knew astrronema was #1

As much as I'll always love Rita, I think Divatox should've got more recognition. She managed to destroy the Turbo Zords, Turbo Rangers AND the Command Centre at the end of PRT.

Well come on now, Divatox deserves a little more description in her honourable mention. She was the villain in the original consecutive story (Mighty Morphin to In Space) who managed to be the one to actually, and permanently, destroy the Command Center. Turbo was a pretty crappy season all up, but Divatox still got the biggest win out of the original villains.

Eh. Rita and Zedd got some pretty major wins. Destroying the original green ranger powers and cutting the rangers off from the Dragonzord (which to this day should still be sleeping in the sea somewhere). Destroying the original zords and rendering the original powers useless for the most part. Destroying the ninja powers by destroying the ninja power coins and they blew up the Command Centre (not permanently but still).

I'm surprised scorpina never showed up in the list.

What about Santaura / Void Queen on Power Rangers: Dino Charge who was ruthless and conniving. Her focus on revenge clouded her judgment to reunite with her husband who helped brought her back to life...... The cool thing about Toxica is being resurrected by her best friend and became a temporary or full allied to the Rangers at the end.

Evil Roxie deserves recognition She should have been An actual entry but close enough

Tenaya7 was my favorite she was separated from her brother when they were trying to escape then was used in experiments to become a villain.

Oh this list going to get very controversial. As long as Rita's isn't number one, I'm fine with it, let's rundown. #10: Queen Bansheera. Yeah she was boring, but at least she was menacing. #9: Yeah Shikenger is obviously better, but Dayu and Deker at least were more sympathic than their counterparts #8: Nadira was just fun, and she kinda humanized Ransik while being her own character. It was fun watching her not just be in the background, especially with Frax's death. #7: Oh yeah, I almost forgot Toxica. Her friendship with Jindrax was pretty cool, after all the higher villains put them through, she needed a break. #6: Ehh, I didn't like Elsa that much but she was decent. Though she was funny. #5: Ha, even the Psychos are better than Madame Odius #4: People give Tenaya too much flak as "Astronema" rip-off, but I think she stood out in her own way, and it wasn't even the original plan for her to be Dillon's sister. She also had some great one on one fights. #3: You're the best, around! Nothing's going to ever bring you down! The only reason Trakeena would be lower is cuz Rita's more iconic, and Astronema was out in the field from day one. #2: Yeah, while Mighty Morphin is overrated, Rita had more than enough screentime and plans. Frankly the main issue with Ria is that she ended the series as a joke even though her last hurrah in Zeo was so good. HM's EX: I would've replaced Elsa and Bansheera or Toxica with Roxy or Camille. Though Toxica and Jindrax's relationship and friendship is stronger than Blaze and Roxy's, Roxy was pretty iconic overall. I though Camille would've made it for sure since she had a solid character arc from henchwoman to ally. EX2: Yeah, Odius shouldn't have been on the list. Odius' problem was that a lot of her plans just came right the hell out of nowhere, had plot holes, and after her Megazord plan, the idea of her being more smarter and cunning than Galvanax went out of the window when she just did the same thing he did. Easily disappointing and it took the whole finale to learn something about her motivations. #1: No surprise. Her plans were more threatening than Rita's, she had a compelling backstory, she kept scaling the stakes, never faltered, and like Rita she could be funny without being bumbling.

My favorite season overall is Time Force. But for female villains, my top 5 go to in no random order, Trakeena, Astronema, Tenaya 7/15, Nadira and Toxica

Great trip down memory lane, forgot how over the top everyone was in this.

It's probably b/c I love vampires, but I wish the vampire queen villain from the Power Rangers season where they were magicians or whatever had made the list.

Great villains list.

Ayyyy, Astronama was always a favorite of mine, and when Corrone became Galaxy Pink 2.0 I was extatic!

I was expected Rita to be at number 1

Astronema\Karone: [creates Psycho Rangers and one of them kills the Pink Galaxy Ranger] Also Astronema\Karone: [becomes new Pink Galaxy Ranger] Karone was brainwashed, but still, this is a fucked up storyline

@AngemonRulez I know. Psycho Pink's vortex doohickey indirectly caused Kendrix's death. Kendrix charged in there and risked her life and was a total badass for doing what she can to save her friends

I was with the list till the top 3! Divatox needed a LOT more cred here, She actually WON! Sure she had help but she actually beat the rangers in her season super badly. Astronema is hands down a series best, But that redemption arc makes it tough to put her at #1! Fun list, Thanks for not putting Vipra up there ahaha!!

Divatox was my favourite not only was she such a diva but she also actually manages to defeat the Power Rangers and in claiming the earth and would have conquered it had it not been for that pesky messenger of Dark Specter’s calling her away and ultimately sets up the Space Rangers victory, she should have made the list

I probably would have had Nadira higher just because her character arc is really well done and I appreciate how she is the one who ultimately stops and redeems Ransik. As a villain, she wasn't really much of a threat but as a character, there are few in the franchise that have a more complete arc than her.

Honestly feel Roxy is only a mention because she's still pretty new but her and blaze have been my favorite villains to come out of pr in a long time. Don't sleep on them

11:16 Divatox was always one of my favorites!

Astronema and Tenaya 7 almost reminded me of The Secret Saturdays where Drew discovered that Van Rook's apprentice is her long lost brother Doyle that were separated from 2 decades ago when they were younger.

Astronema in that PVC suits and purple hair did something to me at a really young age. & that voice! 😍

Necrolai was the only one that I predicted would be on the list that wasn't. And I loved Mystic Force too, it's in my top five favorite seasons
