YuGiOh is something so insanely chaotic that it's fascinating to watch from the sidelines while I play Magic the Gathering. Honestly, props to YuGiOh players for going through FTKs, OTKs, and digging through decade-old cards to see if theres a combo enabler.

@@HIRUMA59290 Depends on the format. The main formats are Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, and Vintage. If you were to see an OTK in Standard or Pioneer, that would be insane. Modern, Legacy, and Vintage do generally have combo kills that take around a turn once they have the required resources out, main difference is how fast they can do so. Modern generally has it done by around turn 4, Legacy comboing on turn 3, and Vintage around turn 2.

@@HIRUMA59290 the worst you can encounter is control decks that don't let you do shit but actual ftk or otk are not that common mainly because you're bound to a resource (mana) which prevents most trash that happens on ygo. Fun modes like multiplayer and Commander work now like Early ygo in where any next common card can turn the tables or Peck someone to death.

“it has shown historically to be abusable” So historic that the winner of the 2000 Asia Championship, the very first international Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament ever, abused Cannon Soldier. It used Ultimate Offering to mass summon Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest and Sinister Serpent (which it had immediately thanks to Painful Choice) to burn for at least 5000 points of burn damage in one turn, and could continue with its many powerful staple cards that hadn’t yet been banned.

@@tonywolf5127 There was actually a bit of time before Yatalock came into existence. Yata-Garasu itself wasn’t released till over a year later in November 2001, and CED EotE wouldn’t release till April 2003. First was that people realized Cyberstein OTK was a thing (it was released by this tournament, but the date was so narrow it wasn’t used), then hand destruction (which did use Yata, but not the Yata-Lock) and Last Turn+Jowgen, and after that all the nonsense Makyura could enable. Pre-TCG OCG was full of degenerate stuff, though this is also the era where, outside of the really broken stuff, OCG first had enough options to enable truly distinct decks.

Snatch Steal, Change of Heart and Black Hole/Raigeki/Card Crush Virus into Monster Reborn gave plenty of chances to use the opponent's beaters to finish them off. With two Graceful Charity, one pot of greed, three painful choice, Magician of Faith to recover those cards, and ultimate offering+witch+sangan clearing 7 cards from the deck the deck could rapidly and selectively clear its deck and easily grab whatever it needed.

The Slash Draw FTK definitely should've been in this list. It was a gimmick, but it was so consistent with Saryuja Skull Dread that Konami put Slash Draw to 1 copy in the banlist.

@@Boristien405 Temple of the Kings post-errata is unlimited and still very much an FTK enabler. A couple trap based FTKs that come to mind are Appropriate drawing through all the cards in your deck and Imperial Iron Wall allowing for infinite Quillbolt Hedgehog summons.

Back in my time we used Catapult Turtle.

As a Mayakashi player, it's nice to see my archetype mentioned in a Top 10 for once. Even if it's for all of the wrong reasons.

My brother had that card and Cannon Soldier from his Ancient Gear structure deck, and I had Black Ptera from my Dinosaur structure deck. Needless to say a tag duel was not very fun for the receiving end once we got all 3 cards on the field.

I think it's because, as he said, it's dedicated to cards that were primarily useful in an FTK context and aren't all that great on their own. Like, if you just splash Blaze Fenix into a random deck capable of summoning it, it'll usually be kind of bad. Same with Asilla Piscu, who was really only viable in decks that tried to blow it up and kill the opponent with burn damage. Magical Scientist, meanwhile, is just a really good card on his own. Like, he was run in tons of decks in his time that didn't use the FTK because he was just that versatile and powerful, and that was when the pool of monsters he could summon was, like, five useful cards and Synchro and Xyz Summons didn't exist.

Oh wow, cool! I remember suggesting this -probably a lot more than- once, thanks for making this list! Since I had a phase where I enjoyed putting together gimmicky FTK decks, I have a few honourable mentions outside of cards mentioned in the video - though they are all ones I mentioned in previous comments I've made. ^_^" ___Temple of the Kings / Makyura the Destructor___ Any FTK deck that centrally focuses on a Trap card to work needs a way to use that Trap on the first turn. Of course this just enables the FTK; actual FTK examples include "Appropriate" allowing the user to draw through their entire deck and "Imperial Iron Wall" circumventing the self-Banish restriction of cards like "Quillbolt Hedgehog" to use them infinitely in one turn. ___Reasoning / Monster Gate___ Allows you to send a tonne of monsters to the Grave as long as they cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. So in an Infernoid deck for example you can send almost your entire deck to the Grave as long as you have at least 1 monster in the deck that can be Normal Summoned/Set. "Flame Spirit Ignis" for example allows Infernoids flooding the Grave to be converted into non-once per turn effect damage. Even outside of getting a bunch of cards in the Grave, they can also be used to search out key monsters that can be Normal Summoned/Set (see "Catapult Turtle"). ___Galaxy Wave___ Also other cards that inflict effect damage on summoning; I know there is a Synchro variation of this card, though I'm noting this one because a Rank 4 deck that cycles through Zoodiac and Utopia/Utopic monsters from the Extra Deck can result in 7500 effect damage in one turn without recycling any of its Extra Deck cards. ___Catapult Turtle___ Using a ridiculously high ATK monster like "Gren Maju Da Eiza" can result in 8000 points of effect damage in one activation. Was even more prominent in the early days of Yu-Gi-Oh when Magical Scientist wasn't banned. Other cards like "Liner Accelerator Cannon" tend use original ATK instead of a monster's ATK when it was on the Field, so "Catapult Turtle" and cards like it are the FTK enabler here. ___Extra Foolish Burial / Dogmatika archetype___ Really the FTK here comes from cards that can copy effects from the Grave and "Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale" having an effect that breaks the game in half when copied by a high level monster. Dogmatika even helps enable "Galaxy Wave" Zoodiac FTK due to its Level 4 easy summon requirement monsters. Again, super cool to see this list. So thanks again for making it! =)

I love the "Soul Absorbing Bone Tower" mill with the Mayakashi archetype.... So much fun!

"Gateway of the Six" or the Six Sam engine in general is highly consistent (thanks to Battle Shogun) in spamming extra deck monsters and looping the game state in general you can setup all kind of boards and thanks to an easy access to Saryuja you can dig through almost (if not) all of your deck problem is that it is a fragile combo. you might not be able to setup a monster negate in time to protect you from hand traps...

YES!!! This is one special type of list, I have been waiting for....

Shows how well I pay attention to the meta. Reprodocus was a card just made me disappointed simply because I wanted a more offensive generic or at least Tribal Dinosaur Link.

Thx for making this video It makes me proud to be an exodia player who uses Royal magicial library and bamboo cards to FTK under right conditions It isn't successful most of the times But i have fun and don't mind losing All the while understanding the deck (Cause i copied it from opponent but made it work by playing it in matches and learning how they work)

i really liked Genesis Ally Birdman + Divine Wind of the Mist Valley because in addition to being an FTK enabler, it was also an incredible value engine if you felt like giving them a turn

Actually got a lunalight deck to lose from yata lock it was awesome but they did otk me on the rematch but worth it.

I used to roll a Royal Magical Library but not for FTK, 'cause Exodia was ridiculous expensive at the time, so I used it to get a "Gearfried + Butterfly Dagger" to get all the cards I need on hand

It could enable more FTKs than Exodia but for that one, you just draw cards and win and you could argue it was one of the earliest proper draw engines that wasn't generic draw like Pot of Greed. You could also technically pull off an FTK with pre-errata Chaos Emperor Dragon by drawing through your Deck.

16:01 Pretty sure you only need to activate Cannon Soldier's effect 16 times (not 20) in order to reduce your opponent's life points from 8000 to 0.

royal magical library + bamboo swords were always a fun combo to use. It's like solitaire, with a bit more types of cards.

I found a perfect counter to every single type of FTK in all of YuGiOh with 100% success rate: It's called Goat format.

i can't help but think of "Crow Hogan" and HIS first duel in the Manga: he had a bunch of "blackwing" monsters that can special summon OTHER "blackwing" monsters when THEY are summoned. they could not attack in the same turn after being special summoned, BUT some of them were "tuner" monsters... so he then "synchro summoned" TWO big monsters at once! THEN...this will take some explaining: his opponent had a monster that starts at 0 attack BUT gains attack equal to the attack of the monsters sacrificed to summon it. SO Crow used a spell card to knock it BACK to 0 attack, THEN attacked it! his opponent tried to counter with "mirror force", but Crow countered that with another spell card, and bam, bam, FTK! (they called it a "one turn kill" in that translation, BTW)

with the mayakashi bone tower FTK you wanna link summon yuki-onna after getting to the level 11 synchro, then if you have a yuki-musume in your GY or hand you can special summon it and do the entire synchro chain again i did it to someone at a locals once

I don't know about most of the FTKs, so I liked to pause and play a little game called "find the bullshit" when the card comes up

So say i have toon cannon s. Toon mermaid and toon kingdom on the field. Could you loop the effect by stopping mermaid from being destroyed with kingdom. Or does cannon s. effect not not apply if the card doesnt get destroyed?

Cannon Soldier tributes. Tributing a monster is not the same as destroying a monster. Even if this were the case, since the cost wasn't paid, the effect wouldn't resolve

I play Exodia and I activated... MY BRAIN and I changed 1 singular card in my deck to one where I thought it could be pretty good in there and right after that I won 14 times back to back. :)

my personal favorite is Black Ptera. I have fond memories of doing a tag game with my brother and abusing his Cannon Soldier and Ultimate Offering cards to tribute him an ungodly amount of times. A couple of suggestions: top 10 cards that are good in the TGG/OCG but would be terrible in Duel Links for one reason or another (for example Crystal Abundance is the only reason Crystal Beasts can even hope to win a game, but it would be completely unusable on Duel Links because there aren't enough spell zones to use it. And yes I know this card is not good because CBs are a joke, but it's the only textbook example I can come up with). Also, top 10 repeat offenders (basically you go back to all your top 5/10s and count how many times each card has shown up on them).

Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower was one of only two cards I've ever physically owned in my whole life Mayakashi happens to be the second archetype I ever tried out as a new player - so imagine my face when putting these two together Also, if your opponent has more than 40 cards, you could throw in a Yuki-Musume to start a second synchro climb, almost doubling the cards you could mill

It's Tri Brigade Lyrilusc with a Ghostrick Angel of Mischief, basically change the Ghostrick monsters type to Winged Beast, then activate a Lyrilusc card that gives Angel of Mischief 10 Materials

If you open Hajun + Yuki-M and special Dakki, you can essentially dump your entire Extra Deck into the GY, haha. I love Mayakashis but only ever decked someone out once as a last resort - Gren Maju deck had already banished everything but 3 cards from their deck, and I got the level 5 Mayakashi back out of the GY :3

If there ever is a errata for all the cards like cannon soldier, I like it to sound it this way to give it some form of resemblance of the old days. "You can only tribute up to 6 monsters each turn with [Card Name]'s effect."

Does any one run Primal seed as a way to make use of face down banished costs? I just checked the ruling and saw that it worked on face down banished and ED monsters would be returned to the ED... yes 3 copys is a bit much but that would negate the cost of Pot of extravegence so you would lose none of your pieces. In a perfect world scenerio, true but its a thought.

Basically every deck that had light monsters in it, you could use Brilliant fusion to send a Light monster to the grave (Trick clown, fairy tail snow usually) to bring out a fusion monster (Gem knight seraphinite) that granted you an additional normal summon,

Tons of decks, running Brilliant Fusion and a copy of Gem-Knight Garnet opened multiple options depending on your deck's layout, and the only danger was drawing Garnet, as Verte Anaconda made Brilliant Fusion super reliable

IIW enabled a ton of OTKs like that.

Interesting that Cannon Soldier is a Dark monster but Cannon Soldier MK-2 is an Earth monster. Also for some reason that image you used of Toon Cannon Soldier has it as Earth but it's actually Dark.

Reversal of Spirits. Even after errata, it can still ftk. I use to use it pre-errata with Future Fusion in a Cyber Dragon deck to dump all my monsters to the grave so I could activate it on turn 1. Then just stop battle phase and win

Top Ten 'Spell & Trap' combos. This would take a lot of research. As a lot of archetypes have at least one spell and trap that are meant to be used together, it feels natural to do in a duel.

I only started playing ygo DL 6 days ago and i can no longer count the otks ive gotten from cosmo brain plays in blue eyes deck. Blows my mind every time auto play shows me a new way to abuse it.

Brilliant was limit to 1 because it was abused in every deck because it can send any attribute in the gy or allow you to use the light fusion to double normal summon, it was banned because of Verte anaconda being brought to the tcg, a card that can cheat it out, and yes u can use it for the ftk, diamond was already limited before brilliant being limited then banned.

The second biggest FTK enabler was Ancient Fairy Dragon, allowing to cycle through Black Garden, Fusion Gate and other field spells and at the same time providing a way continue summoning monsters, it was also the real reason why Genex Ally Birdman was limited. The biggest one is Firewall Dragon. Most of the FTKs on this list don't exist anymore because these two are banned.

Ideas: - Top 10 best/worst cards that let you choose between multiple effects (like Lightning Storm or Triple Tactics Talent ) - Top 10 best/worst cards that have an effect that cannot be negated. (like some pendulum effekts) - Top 10 best/worst cards that can destroy/tribute themselves.

Surpirised that Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom or Independent Nightingale weren't included

I think the title of this video needs a "That are not banned", as I would definitely put Mass Driver and Butterfly Dagger at the #2 and #1 spots on this list.
