I don't think I've played any of these games however there is one I remember and while you were talking about Gilgamesh's swords I saw someone I remember. Tidus Brotherhood? I haven't seen him since childhood. I don't even remember the name of the Final Fantasy game we had but we played as them

Final Fantasy 6 is so good.

I thought all of FF6 secrets were pretty well known. I mean, they were all in Nintendo Power when the game first came out, lol.

I read a walk through of FF6 and got all the secret weapons and secret characters. It was one of my most thorough play throughs of any RPG because I literally followed doing everything in every scene or action sequence.

i was thinking that too but then i re read the title of the video and it includes easter eggs which gogo is an easter egg. gogo was confusing to use. i never knew you could put any ability on him back when ff6 came out, i thought he could only use mime and never used him again. i actually just learned how to do it recently from a speedrun of all places.

I was 12 or 13 when it was out and friends and I would talk about our progress through the game at school and such. I think one of the kids had the complete walkthrough but he’d always swear he “discovered” something. Like how to customize Gogo’s attack options and how to acquire Umaru. Sorry, but those aren’t things you just stumble upon in a period of a week or two. Anyway, FFVI remains my all time favorite.

No mention of the fact Gilgamesh also carries Erdrick’s Sword? For SHAME, WatchMojo!

The White Recluse Right! It’s like they don’t even research anything. The official strategy guide from Bradygames even tells you how to get Excalibur II, but never had how to get the brothers quest done.

Why not mention the elemental materia you can get from the piano in Tifa's room in FF7 or the ribbon hidden in the north cave on disk 2? Not in the strategy guides.

Gogo is also a reference to the previous game (Final Fantasy 5), where he was a boss you had to face to get the mime job class, which you were denied the ability to reach earlier in the game. My favorite version of the Dev room in FF4 has a dwarf saying "The Bard is indeed spoony. We checked." Personally though, FF5 has some interesting hidden details with the various job classes on each character, from Bartz cosplaying Kain (Dragoon) and Minwu (Mystic Knight) to how every class (except Berserker) has a means of breaking the game's difficulty, up to and including an entire dungeon that can be steamrolled by a party of *bards* provided you got the requiem bardsong from the werewolf village.

the more amazing thing about that last hidden secret is that someone played it often enough to do that (ie, go to talk to them after each event), and remember the sequence of things in which he did that to reveal what the secret is!

PUPU the Alien was in the official guide book at Launch so no this one was known about before the game even game out.

The original final fantasy black label edition, you can get items from disc 2 in disc 1 in midgar by not giving up on fighting the soldiers after you jump off the train. If you don't have the original, you will be there forever though.

The floating island in Final Fantasy VI was about halfway through the game. It started with the world of balance (as named on the physical map that you get with the hard copy), and changes to the world of ruin after Kefka's actions (also named on the map, but the other side of the map). Edit: It was Final Fantasy III when I got it originally on the Super Nintendo. I got it again when it was released on PlayStation as Final Fantasy VI in the Final Fantasy Anthology collection, but no map with it.

They are wrong about Gilgamesh in ffxii. If you look at the swords closely they are all slightly different. Tidus's sword has too many hooks, clouds has too many holes, squalls has the wrong insignia. Implying Gilgamesh is using counterfeits.

The only two that weren't in guides is the FFXI dragon, which by the time it hit English audience the JP players all knew about it, and the Nero Brothers took ages because it was a little obtuse and not in the guide.

Hell I’ve fought the warmech dozens of times over the years! Not really an Easter egg when it’s put directly in your way.

In Final Fantasy 9, Beatrix and Steiner learn the move Climhazzard which was one of Cloud’s Limit Breaks in Final Fantasy 7.

I was pretty sure this one would show up, but it didn't. In FF9, Dagger/Garnet reveals around the time the Queen dies that she is not really the daughter of Brahne. At the beginning of the game, the cinematic shows a terrible storm at sea with an ominous eye in the sky that we later learn is the Airship 'Invincible', and a mother and child in a small boat. The child is Garnet, only she was not called Garnet. She's a summoner, but the problem is, she doesn't have a horn like Eiko does. It was removed. Garnet was originally from Madain Sari. The temple in Madain Sari actually has her name inside its walls. It's Sarah.

I never played 12 nor fought manerva in crisis core but all other of these were well known back in the day with either Nintendo power or knock off magazines. I knew about ff1 Mech monster as when I first played it in 1992 I fought it. I also knew about ff6 gogo and Popo the alien was mentioned in a final fantasy 8 guidebook. Only one I wasn't aware of entirely was that ff9 mission but I believe no one knew that till recently which I give the devs credit for that. Still it was a good video. I do enjoy watching these kind of videos

Warmech in FF1 was no secret, it was listed in the monster guide sheet that came with the game.

I can't wait to get my hands on final fantasy 7 remake. It's just too bad they had to split the game into three parts.

Chris Grey I have had it for a while but I am taking it slow and savouring it. It seems to be really good so far and I am not disappointed. They seem to have done it justice. I just hope it does not take too long with the next games.

Yes, get the game I am playing it and not rushing it myself. I am overall very happy with it so far and there is much more story and I am getting a lot of feels for chars that didn't get much time in the past. I am loving it.

Has it been announced how many parts there would be? I was pretty sure it hadn’t been. I mean there were 3 discs but this game ends at the end of Midgar. And disc 1 doesn’t end until after the death of aeris

Some sprites I've seen make Gogo look feminine. However, that's the quirk. You don't truly know Gogo's gender. I think the development team felt it was up to the player to decide the gender. Same with Quina Quen the Qu from FF9. The colour of Quina's coat is pink, nowadays a female associated colour. However, in the earlier centuries, Pink was the Boy's colour (a softer version of Red, symbolic of the blood and strength of Jesus Christ). Blue was the Girl's colour, symbolic of Mary, the Virgin Mother of Christ. Hence Wendy wore blue and baby Michael wore pink in Disney's Peter Pan. It could be that Quina is an effeminate male character. However, Quina can also wear some feminine clothing and armour. Again, it's up to the player to decide gender. Because of the feminine armour thing, I generally tended to call Quina a female, but that's my own personal preference there.

Have a theory though....bear with me. SPOILER WARNING So as we all know from Shadows dreams, that he was once a thief of sorts, and is also Relm's father. As his time as a thief he left a certain partner to perish.......yes? Could the partner be none other than GoGo........?

I know about keeping Shadow alive in Final Fantasy VI. I just got Cinna's Hammer in the PS4 Version of FFIX the first time. I never done it in the original PS1 Version.

FFVI remains my all time favorite game, not just FF game, but any game for any system, ever. Such a masterpiece. The music score itself made this a classic the day it was released. Anyway, saving Shadow was hardly a “secret” or “Easter Egg” he was shown clearly on the floating island along with his awesome doggo; Interceptor. Similar to acquiring Umaru, these were all in the strategy guide. Shadow wasn’t that great anyway... Which was all we got in terms of a walk through in those days. I wasn’t a fan of them personally, as I preferred to figure the game out on my own, often to my own detriment. Spent years trying to no avail trying to resurrect General Leo lol.

Not sure of the exact details but there is apparently a way to get aeriths ghost on your team in the original ps1. I saw a video on it not long ago but you have to complete the old man's quest and give him all 3 items possibly in a specific order and in the midgar arcade beat the fighting game until the invisible fighter. After that go to the church and aeriths ghost wont disappear but you won't be able to talk to her. Until you put your controller in the players 2 outlet. Again I'm not 100% positive but it was an interesting video.

If you ask about the city, to the inn owner on nibelheim during cloud's flashback in kalm, the aeris ghost event does not happen.

It's not a secret you can save Shadow. If you keep going to the edge, eventually it will say "Shadow! Got to wait for Shadow!" Then you wait. There are also the weird dreams you can get in which you see his past. The last few are in the Ruined World, which reveal that he is Strago's son in law, Clyde Arrowny, making him little Relm's father. The reason Interceptor, Shadow's Doberman, is friendly with Relm? He can sense that Relm is his master's "cub"/"puppy". :-)

I actually thought the reveal of Shadow's actual name, "Clyde" should have been a secret exposed.

Lucky for me as kid. I found and played parts of Final fantasy 7 game long ago.

The Nero sidequest is actually mentioned in Japan’s official guide book. It’s actually not as secretive as people assume it to be, just tricky.

For clarification its existence was mentioned only in the japanese guide book, and the first mention of it in English on the Internet is 2013, 13 years after the game was released. So yes it was highly secretive.

Aerith’s ghost is still without a doubt the best of all Easter Eggs in the franchise.

In the original PlayStation there was a way to get Aerith to return to the party, it involved plugging in the controller into the player 2 controller port and opening the console while the games running or something like that.

In Chocobo Racing (PS1) you can play as Squall from FF8 if you beat the game many times.

Emerald is really easy. Take Cloud, get his limit to max. Use limit, skip the other 2 party members turn (DO NOTHING NOT EVEN DEFEND), when cloud comes back up use Mimic. He will use his Limit again, repeat till dead. Or you can use the Knights of the Round Mimic as well but its slower.

I am waiting for the Playstation 5 (skipped 4 as there were just too few exclusives that interested me) before I dive into FF7 remake. I will probably grab Persona 5 Royal and scramble, but so far, there are so few games that aren't PC released...

9:08 The sad twisted easter egg is that if you dont save shadow you are faced with an eight armed mutated mindless nameless ninja boss upon returning to the empire. If you save him you fight a gilgamesh boss instead.

There are over 100 Tips and Easter eggs in each game. I wasn’t really expecting much from MOJO. Having said that the ff7 one you showed was the only one I didn’t show in my video.

In the original you can have aerith back to your party if you followed her advice and come back to the church and then put your controller to the other slot then do the button combination. I know this cuz a KZreadr tried to and succeeded I don't remember his name but.i know his name is like 1st class soldier

For the top one....going to IX..... I would have picked the nearly always missed Crime and Punishment ATB. How could anyone have missed the Protect Ring with the brothers for 13 years is a little beyond me. Missing the ATB though.....requires you do this and that at the right times.

Gilgamesh isn't using the actual weapons from any of those games. Squall's gunblade has a chocobo on it, and the buster sword has a kanji on it that literally means Fake. He's using replicas.

Is it safe to say that we are all gonna cry alot harder over Aeriths death in the next episode, with it being shushed up and HD and all...

Idk they made it seem like there's different timelines in ff7r. So she may not die this time. Everything is crazy different and some old but in a very good way.

You forgot about saving Cid in FF6.

There is a loose canon meaning to why Gilgamesh has the other characters swords, Gilgamesh is from FFV and he gets shoved into different realities in game, in Dissidia 012 it is explained that Gilgamesh over different games is the same Gilgamesh everytime and he knows all the characters because of this

Is this great news that these secrets have been revealed?

For me, it was the Highwind scene in FF7 between Tifa and Cloud. I always knew it was a lovey-lovey moment, but it took years before i read comments from the director/developers that confirmed it was the beginning of the relationship between the two, and that they actually had intimacy (s*x) but the scene was toned down because it was too obvious. i hope the remake sequels actually show some skin for it.

For those who have not played FF7 before and are enjoying the remake, sorry for the spoiler. Unless the remake version has a surprise up it's sleeves for us. That could be interesting.
