I have searched through thousands of tutorials on KZread. But until I found Mac break studio five-minute tutorial. I was trying to a lot of misguided information. Once I saw Steve Martin and Mark Spencer. I knew they were both geniuses in the field of videography. I immediately purchased Final Cut Pro 10.4 Core Training, Advanced Color Correction in Final Cut Pro 10.4, Media Management in FCP 10.4, Sound Editing in Final Cut Pro 10.4, Keying and Compositing in FCP 10.4, and 3D Titles & Masks in FCP 10.4. I plan on purchasing every video the ripple team puts out. I would highly recommend you do the same. This is my prayer for Steve Martin, his family, the ripple team, and Mark Spencer. Yeah, I'm DEFINITELY DOWN for Pt. 2 - Sign ME Up!! I use's ALL DAY EVERY DAY in my Company!!

I feel ashamed I didn't watch this sooner. I mostly new about the plugins mentioned but it is good to here it from my mentors perspective. I love Callouts BTW...I use it all the time.

hi, I'm new to final cut pro, don't even have the X version, and I'm having difficulty importing MXF files, it just won't let me, can you recommend a plug-in that will make this happen? or perhaps something else I can use to change the format on the clips so I can import them? thx

Thanks Steve! We can tell you love your job. eh hem, So, on your recommendation, I bought iZotope RX 5 because I have bad acoustics in my home studio. The De-reverb does a decent job. But, I have a question on using the audio Compressor.... do you do it before (on top of) or after (Below). I'm guessing before, but not sure. Any other tips or advice much appreciated, I'm not an audio expert.

I always apply the compressor first, then de-reverb.

Thanks again for the speedy reply. I though photography was technical, then learned video is 10x photography, now there's sound, Whoa! I was disappointed to learn that RX Connect doesn't support FCPX. Not sure why they give you the plugin, only to tell you, you need to edit externally and reimport (you have to go the their website to find that out). Thus, most of the features work inside FCP, but the full edit is only available externally in the RX App. [RX 5 is a pretty deep program, so maybe FCP is just saving me from myself.] Q: Is that an do to the architecture of FCP, or full RX connect just hasn't made it to the feature set yet? next release?

Old video i know, there is one thing no fcp plug in can do properly .. real time sidechain auto ducking. This one is pretty painful for me coming from resolve. But yes, the plug-in scene for final cut is 👌

Great presentation Steve, thanks. Question on the Ripple Drops plugin (and potentially 3D text in general), is it possible to drop video into the image well, to get a moving texture on your 3D text??

I've been trying for a year now to figure out why it WON'T play when I drop video thats either looped or no more that the length of the frame and VIDEO STILL WON'T PLAY...any takers on WHY IT WON'T and any FIXITS to aide in my progression of editorial prowess...I'm open!!! I have FCPX plug in question... does anyone know 1) If you have a huge library of 3rd party plug ins, does that slow down performance of FCPX even if they are not being used in the project? 2) Are there tools to manage plug ins, ie toggle them on or off (hide) if you are not using them? I find it sometimes hard to search through my massive library of plug ins. thanks!

+ACTIONCAMFLIX 3rd party plugins should not slow down performance as FCP is only looking into a folder in the Finder. As for searching and organizing, I agree with you, could be much better.

Could you please take the commercial for ColorFinale OUT of your video? It is a lousy product, from a lousy company. All together i wrote them 6 times. Not ONE answer! All LUTs turn my highlights yellow. LUT gallery doesn't work. Emailed support a half dozen times and no response. This product sucks.
