Great video! Love the list. Holloween is my all time favorite I also love the strangers Don't breath was good to Holloween is my favorite time of year. I always have to watch the movie deadly friend it's not scary but I just like it. I do have a question maybe you can help me. There is an older movie that I guess was made in the 80s. I cant remember the name. But it's about a kid that comes home from college and his father is running for government or something and the kid was real into horror movies. I remember one part where he wanted to get a book sign I think it was the night of the living dead I think. Maybe you can help me out with this. I just can't remember the name of the movie.

Bobby Maull thank you!! Halloween is such a classic that just holds up. I think many of us feel the same way and are so excited about the new one coming this month. Hmm, in trying to figure out the name of the movie you referenced but I can't seem to come up with anything. I'm going to pin your comment and see if anyone can help out. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video. 🎃🎃👍👍👍

@@crimesforkibble6912 Before I get into a couple of little details that I do remember from so long ago I wanna say thank you for trying to help me. My only memories are: It was a kid that came home from college I think by a helicopter if I'm not mistaken. His dad was running for office or something and I remember the kid doing a walk through of the house and he went into a atrium. I also remember a lot of posters in his room mostly horror movie posters like the night of the living dead. I believe he wanted a book signed by the author of that book. I also remember he liked a girl that I believe had blonde hair. I remember 1 part they were jumping down a flight of steps to a museum or something. That's about all I can remember. It's just one of those movies that you seen 1 or 2 times and it wasn't real popular so it doesn't ever get played on cable or something. I had a couple of movies that I seen when I was younger but they took me a while to figure out the names but I did. But this one I can't. Maybe you can get the name but if you can't I still appreciate you trying to help me out.

Glad you’re feeling better. Great list, I definitely agree with you on The Wailing, such an excellently layered film. The Conjuring doesn’t do anything new conceptually but it’s one of the best of it’s ilk. I missed out on the Friday the 13th tin too, the prices are absurd for it. Looking forward to more videos from you!

The Conjuring just creeps me out for some reason but in a good way..😂😂 That Friday the 13th tin is going for insane prices- it's nuts. I really wish the FYE lunchbox was on Blu-ray because I'd definitely pick that up. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks so much for stopping by, always great to hear from you. 🎃🎃🔪🔪👍👍

It's so exciting that these older films are getting 4K treatments! It gives us something new to look forward to. I'm actually a big fan of your picks. Don't Breathe was way creepier and unsettling than i expected it to be. The Wailing is my all time favorite, i try to watch it sparingly so it feels almost new every time i watch it. Something feels so real about it for me. I never understood the love for the Strangers until i entered my adult years and realized how scary it really would be. 😂 Never renting a cabin again. I'm also a big fan of the new IT, totally looking forward to part 2. Halloween is probably my all time favorite classic horror movie. This new one has me excited, can't recall the last time we got a great addition to a classic horror franchise. Great video and hey is The Sopranos that type of show where it starts off slow? I can't get past the 2nd episode. 😂 Well anyways keep up the great content. We all know you took a break to restock on shirts. 🤣 Just kidding. 👀

Popcorn Flicks 😂😂😂 you caught me, I was shirt shopping for a week. 👍👍👍 Hmm, yes to The Sopranos being a bit of a slow start. I didn't really get into it until mid Season 1 but from then, it's addictive. When you come visit I'll bring you and M to the places where they filmed it. I'm digging all the older 4k releases and they all look so damn good. Christine is crazy clear, like the car was in the living room. Nuts how they can take them to the next level like that. The Wailing is such a great movie. It was a nice surprise for me and like I said, felt a bit like The Exorcist in places. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. You know I appreciate everything you do. 🎃🎃❤️❤️👍👍👍

Glad you are doing better Steph! I had a sinus infection all last week myself. :( Bummed about The Thing in the honorable mentions, but I am also happy you mentioned it ;) Same with The Wailing, absolutely love that film! The Exorcist is one of the best horror films ever. I haven't seen The Strangers in a long time myself, will have to get it soon. Nightmare is a classic, and the original is the best. I didn't know that they are remaking Scream, wish they would leave it alone too. I recently saw The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time, great and gross (not particularly my type of horror). The Shining is damned great, my favorite for 1980. The Conjuring is good, but I need to see it again because for some reason I felt it was a little studio related. The new It is pretty fun and spooky. Glad you enjoy Friday the 13th, but slightly too campy for me (sorry :( ) And glad you chose Halloween as your fav, I can't wait to see this new one!!! Great list! I made a top 10 horror a year and a half back, but I have to think about my own top 10. Who knows, maybe I will make my own top 10 video. Keep up the great work and I am glad you are feeling better!

Nathan Jones yes!! Make that list- I'd love to see your horror picks. That's the great thing about these types of things, they're all subjective so we bring our personal experiences into the formula. I love that. Two people can see the same film in totally different ways. To me, that's the fun of it. 😀😀 Some of these hold nostalgia for me because I remember seeing them in theaters with my friends in high school. Yes, I'm that old. 😂😂 So I'm sure that has an impact on my choices. I was a freshman in high school when Friday the 13th came out so it was a huge deal that my friend's brother, a senior, drive us all to the movie and got us in. Stuff like that. Thanks so much for watching and sharing. Seriously, I'd love to see your list. You're the best. 🎃🎃👍👍👍

I would love to make that list again, and see what has changed. I love lists because they are subjective and that is what makes life so interesting, at least to me. Oh I bet the nostalgia gets me too, just have to think about it more. I have actually only recently enjoyed horror as a genre, so I have not been introduced to classics until at least my early 20s. Most of my nostalgia comes from fantasy and war films. Now I am mostly into drama, romance, horror, honestly all the genres..Keep it up and love the passion 🎃🎃

Limiting it to 10 might be tough for me. The shining is probably my all time favorite horror movie. So many good newer ones too as you describe like Hush. I would really impressed with both Creep one and two. Just a few that come to mind right now as you say, pick another day and then think of more. Midsomer was very creepy. 1 bedroom and another Steven king Carrie... The list goes on, Hellraiser , and maybe not for everyone stuff like "I spit on your Grave". "Raw".... Thanks for your inclusion of movies that are less known at least by me. I also appreciated your commentary on sequels you liked or not so much. Just found your site today, will check out more of your videos.

I need to do an updated list, honestly. Maybe "Another Top 10 Horror Films" This one is from years ago and I've seen so many new things that I love. You're so right--keeping anything to 10 is very difficult and leaves out so many titles. I think most of us pick they because it keeps the videos reasonably short (so people actually watch) and the algorithm seems to like it. You've added some great titles here. Thanks for that and for watching. 🎃🎃

Very very good selections... I was thinking Alien was going to make the cut although this would be Sci-Fi Horror..It scared the hell out of me my first watch..the suspense ,the kills , the creature gave me the willies for days. I think the scene where it popped out of his chest was worst, ver claustrophobic , dark movie... My Steven King favorite is Cujo...it is considered Horror ...well I'll take any King flick frankly. Glad your feeling better , look forward to your Criterion video.

Dave L hey there. You know, I did think about Alien for the same reasons you listed. Scared the hell out of me as well but then I thought some people might consider it sci-fi as opposed to horror. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Tough call because I think it can go either way. But it's a fantastic movie, whatever genre it's in. 😂😂😂 Cujo is another great one. I'm pretty sure I have the DVD of that one. I'll have to look because now I want to watch it again. It's been years. Yes, Criterion segments will be coming up. There's actually some great creepy, horror type films in the collection. I went through a asian horror movie rabbit hole about a year ago and watched so many great horror movies that are now some of my favorites. I would also recommend "The Host" which is on Netflix "I Saw The Devil" and a cool take on vampires called "Thirst". I hope you enjoy them if you haven't already seen them. You're Welcome! Keep up the good work!

Hey, Steph: I was literally going to contact you to ask if everything was okay, when I got the email saying you'd just uploaded a video. Yay! Hope you'll all better soon. When you mentioned the movie CHRISTINE, I knew I'd seen it but I couldn't place it. Are you talking about the one about the news anchor … the one that is a true story? That was good. And for anyone who doesn't know, it's on Netflix now. The trailer for DON'T BREATHE played over and over at the 2nd run theater, but I don't believe it ever ended up coming there, which happens sometime. it looked good and super scary. Can you believe it: I never saw NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, THE WHALING, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, TEXAS CSM, or HALLOWEEN. THE EXORCIST is an all-time favorite. I saw it a few years ago when it was playing for one-night at the 2nd run in a nostalgia series. Very cool to see it onscreen again. There was a major portion in the beginning, where the mom is having Regan checked for various things, that I completely blanked on, even after having seen it so many times. I think I recently saw the sequel to THE STRANGERS. I kind of remember hearing (I think it was here) that there was a previous one even better. But wow, the one I saw was scary enough. I did see the CONJURING movies. I recently saw THE NUN in the theater right after it came out. I didn't do much for me, but I'm not sure what other people thought. Anyway, those are my thoughts. So good to have you back!! I really missed the videos! You're the best!!

NipoteZia hello, my friend. ❤️❤️ I was so down for the count last week. I'm pretty sure K brought home some back to school germs. 😂😂😂 Christine is the one based on the Stephen King novel about the car that takes control of the kid who buys and restores it. Super creepy, as you'd expect. I'll have to see if I can round up some digital codes to get you caught up on some great horror. I've heard The Nun wasn't great, it might have been you who told me. Anyway, the rest of the franchise is a lot of fun. Again, I'll look for codes. 🎃🎃🎃 Now I remember that you were the one who told me the new Strangers was nothing great. The first one blew me away- so freaking scary. I'm forever changed. 😂😂😂 Thanks so much for watching and sharing. I always love hearing from you. ❤️❤️🎃🎃🎃👍👍

Maverick1701A hey there!! You know, I was so conflicted about both, and I actually had this conversation with another viewer about Alien. Jaws is one of my favorite movies of all time but what category does it fall into?? Thriller, horror, both?? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I thought about putting it here but then I tried to think of what do people think when they talk horror?? It's so tough. But that's the only reason it's not on here. As for Alien, I was thinking of making a sci-fi list later and that would be at the top, without a doubt. You'll love the Christine 4k, it's a huge upgrade!! Enjoy and thanks so much for watching and the great comment. 🎃🎃👍👍👍

So, I really appreciate and enjoy watching other movie collections and Cinephiles as well. There is an unprecedented, array of films and undiscovered films in which people/film-junkies have yet to see. Not to mention the amazing Auteurs/Directors who have influenced many. e.g., Alfred Hitchcock, Tobe Hooper, George A. Romero and John Cassavetes, Russ Meyer, Dario Argento,John Carpenter, Ruggero Deodato, Mario Bava and even, Ed D. Wood Jr. All in which had an unique style and artistic direction in their films. We had a big discussion about Alien when this list came out. Funny you mention it. Half thought it should be SciFi only other half thought it was horror/SciFi. I left it for the sci-fi list that I'm working on. Suspiria is in my best horror of the 70's list- I try to mix it up and not just use the same movies all the time. I'm a huge fan of Pans but I've always thought of it more as fantasy but it does have horror elements- subjective call. It's actually listed as drama, fantasy, war on IMDB so who knows. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I just saw a Tale of Two Sisters about 6 months ago and would probably include it on an updated list. These are tough because you only get ten out of the millions of films, which is why I don't do them a lot. Thanks so much for watching and adding your favorites. 😀

The strangers is a dull, uninspired mush. Scream is okayish. I think that the shinning is more of a phsycio thriller.

Nelson Bennett movies are all subjective and these lists are meant for fun. Everyone who makes or watches these videos will have their own opinions, likes, dislikes, and that's totally cool. So tell me what you like- I'm always open to recommendations. I've found some of my new favorites through viewer recommendations. Thanks for watching. 🎃🎃👍👍👍

4K tech is really not here yet. Most of those 4K releases are from 2K sources. Not worth it!

chadergeist82 ok. Well, I'm not really into the technical side of things, there are lots of people who do that well. I just talk about what I see- if it looks good and sounds good, I'm happy. I can understand your point though. Thanks for watching. 🎃👍👍

@@MovieChatter01 Try Autopsy of Jane Doe. It's a great film that gets little recognition. I promise it will scare the hell out of you.

Movie Massacre hello my friend!! I'm so happy you enjoyed my list. Hey, I need that cool mask you wear to make me legit for the month. 👍👍👍 I'm such a fan of the classics, obviously, which is probably one of the many reasons I find your content so awesome. Totally agree about Night of the Living Dead- it set the bar and for such a simple film, it pushed the envelope in so many ways. I just love it. We can never go wrong with Friday the 13th or Halloween, right??! 🔪🔪🎃🎃🎃 Thanks so much for watching and checking in on me. You rock. 👍👍👍
