I'm a master crafter and i go to the starter zones mostly auridion and post that if they find me which i give a hint (outside of mages guild)I will make them any set(training or any trait) and 2k gold to new players. Sometimes I get a line lol 5 people waiting and takes me some time make gear haha but most wait. I mostly make training gear no bonuses but if they want i make them also not all want full sets some just want trait gears they missing for research and others just want gold ,some people don't know what they want so I ask what you trying to be (dps,tank,healer) then I make them a recommend set and give them tips.

I dont know why, but I fell in love with the story of the ship crew in Stros M´kai. I completed it several times already and I think it´s just such a cool starting quest. You look for the members of the ship crew, then experience an adventure with them and finally observe their demise when they split up. What the game does not tell you: After the whole story questline, you can visit the two big ships in the harbor of Wayrest to get the final info about the crew´s ending. I absolutely love it, even it might not be a special quest to the average player.

Currently on my templar I'm running mothers sorrow and winters respite and holy hell my healing capabilities solo are amazing and I'm actually a trial healer and by the 9 is it a strong set up crit healing is almost always and that 10 second heal anytime I throw spears on my tank is just too good!

Picked up Winter's Respite based on one of your vampire builds. Full Divines set for under 5k at traders. Loving it.

Awesome vid! The Plague Doctor set, for tanks, is also pretty good and obtainable in Deshaan.

Winter's Respite is fun when paired with Hiti's. Winter's respite of course gives the 2358 Health every 1 second where you drop your AOE (tooltip), but Hiti's also gives you the "warming aura" aoe aura heal that heals 1020 Health every 1 second (tooltip). Of course both of those are baseline numbers (no crit heal or whatever considered). On quick 4 man runs I usually don't even have to pop a heal as a healer because the second I drop ANY aoe, and ANYONE gets healed by Winter's respite, Hiti's kicks in. When I do pop a heal like Cleansing Ritual, its funny because its 3 AoE HoTs for the price of one. A lot of AOEs set it (respite) off. Even Blood Altar. Which when you drop Blood Altar, it procs Winter's Respite, which heals you for the HP lost from Blood Altar, which triggers Hiti's. Craziness.

great video as always just a little note that betnikh and bal foyen are also starter zones that drop the trainee set, basically khenarthi is 2 in 1 whereas the other 2 factions are split, im a little disappointed that you didnt include thunderbugs carapace from malobal tor especially for soloing :(

I know it’s been awhile since you posted this lol but thanks for the tips! I’m two week player at level 32 trying to develop to a Templar healer. So far I have just farmed spiders cultist armor in fungal grotto since it seems easy to re farm as I level up and I love the magika gain from having the 5 pieces. Definitely opened my eyes to other solid and better options! Thank you!

I been rocking a combination of knight slayer with durok’s bane for the major defile and increase magicka on my DK tank build. SUPER HELPFUL VIDEO though because I was planning on making a healer and I currently have a low level stamina that has basically nothing. Big time awesome.

awesome video like alot of new players I am giving it a try in the xbox gamepass I played morrowind back in the day alot and loved it

for stamina users just getting into the game seriously give venemous smite a try, you can get it anywhere in western skyrim at any level from any enemy or any activity it is extremely powerful early game and bis for a lot of endgame stamblade builds very, very fun, interesting 5 piece and powerful too unlike some more boring damage penetration 5 piece bonuses

Ooooh Magika and aoe healing, sounds like something I should farm for my Warden tank. (i'm just level 32)

For my first character these might have helped... but as soon as you research 2 traits on your armour you can make some sweet sets. This makes all your items the same lvl, instead of having your "set" strung out over 4 levels.... Inmate axiom for example... I don't even look at set items under cp160 anymore except for research/decon

Thank you for the video, Hack it is good as always. one thing i'd disagree is recommending Eternal Vigor set. Yes, recently game makers introduced Ancient Dragonguard set (requires Dragonhold) which boosts your damage when your character is above 50% or boosts resistances, if below. Even this one is better than Eternal Vigor, because playing with health below 50% for most of the time is rather controversial (and totally unthinkable for tanking, where the main idea is to stay at 120% health all the time). What could help new players is joining the big guilds, where they can get good crafted sets like Hungdings or Juli or many other either very cheap or free. So, without mentioning crafted sets, the picture is way too incomplete. Moreover, gear level is non-upgradeabe, so this is constant re-grinding (to renew sets each 10..12 levels for smooth play) like 2 ..4 days to rebew all, while obtaining new crafted sets is a matter of several minutes. Also, please, mention player may run 2 5+5 sets and 2 pieces of the third one for best results (but not the same set twice). The easy way is to ask guild crafters for Hundings (or NMG if no access to Major Fracture) for stam or Julianos for mag + Ancient Dragonguard for both. Blue quality, training trait. Cheap. Replace Ancient Dragonguard with Vampire’s Kiss for complete beginners and you are done. TL/DR; Crafted sets are way to go. There are always crafters who can help. This is the MMO after all. Again, no offense Again, thank you for your useful guides

Necropotence is missing for starting magick pet builds (sorcerer, warden). Easy to get and no dlc needed.

I really enjoyed your guide with how clear it is, but I'm a little confused as I've only been playing about two weeks (level 20). Am I supposed to farm these once I get higher level, or do I farm low pieces and then a new set of something different once I get to 50?

So if you did a side quest and got a piece of the winters respite at a low level, like in the 20s or so, if you make it to CP 160, can you go back and do that side quest again for a piece of the set?

Alfiq's, and Necropotence make good 4 piece sets. If you don't have Monster Helms, and VMA weapons, then you can have 2x5 piece sets, and 1x4 piece set. (Swapping between the 5 piece bonuses with your weapons.) That leaves 4 pieces you can stack up a lot of Magicka with. If you're not a Sorcerer, Warden, or Necromancer, the 5 piece Necropotence doesn't really require a pet, because that is never active anyway. Queen's Elegance is really good for spellweavers, and can be farmed Immediately if you start out Aldmeri Dominion (Or fast travel to Vulkhel Guard) Overwhelming Surge takes a little longer to get, because it's a Dungeon set.

Armor of the Trainee also drops from monsters and quests in Bal Foyen & Betnikh.

My Magicka warden has ice heart and winter born. Maybe I'll use winter's riposte as well lol

How important is it to be wearing sets rather than individual pieces? Currently level 18 and some set pieces I have are like level 8, would it be more beneficial to wear individual pieces which are higher level?

It depends on the set. I use winters respite on my level 50 necro and it's very rare for me to drop below 75% health and drops below 90% health are rare. for most group dungeons. I have can solo most tier 1 undaunted and I'm under 300 cp

spent the last half hour looking for that damn quest for the red mountain armor axe then realized this video is 2 years old...

Why not briarheart on the list? It feels like that would be a great pairing with venomous smite, both stam sets centered on crit and wep dmg

this is a great video, but my suggestion is when you just start the game out first character don't go for these set you could but only the first one for XP increase. i was trying to get the venomous set damn i need to fight 2 world bosses could not do it solo and it wont't drop. so RNG but feel free to get it because it a really good sets but not as beginner.

What display settings do you use? Been meaning to try changing it to improve my play style

So why i can't get the armor of trainee ?

One of my guild mates asked for a port and he said that he would pay. I told him he didn't need to pay, but after insisting he gave 25,000 gold! Now I don't know if that is a lot but I thought it's was really nice for a new player like me.

Beginner question, what's the point for going out of your way for sets while you're levelling? The gear drops at your level right, so its alot of effort for a very short time? Can you upgrade gear so it keeps with your level?

If you go out of your way to get those sets you will have a easier time killing bosses and doing dolmen solo or in very small groups. But I for myself wore what I had on my hands until cp160. But the sets here are also good for people at cp.160 before they start going into dungeons and raids to farm the actual endgame gear.

Some of these sets stay top tier tbh. Mother's sorrow and crafty aliq especially for magic users. You see 810s using them all the time supplemented with a monster set.

It depends on what you want to do with them. If you want to do veteran raids and dungeons in a group I would look for endgame builds. If you just want to go solo and have fun these sets are definitely fine.

Cheers on akaviri dragonguard and not plague doctor, glad to see that, PD is bunscake. But Trainee and red mountain with No necropotence, bright throats? No briarheart (you mentioned healing being an issue for newer players)? Bro...and mother's sorrow should be number 1 because it's literally a meta set.

I dont understand these sets, say if u get all pieces at lvl 15 wont it soon be really bad at lvl 20 for example?
