This. I would go a step further and say that if you love Happy Gilmore there's a good chance that you hate Jack & Jill and that you don't even have to consider yourself a Sandler fan to think one was a pretty good movie and the other was not.

It's no surprise that comedic actors make for great dramatic actors. Making people laugh on a consistent basis is one of the hardest things an actor can do, so if you can do that, there shouldn't be anything you can't do as an actor.

Williams was an absolute titan of cinema. He perfected the comedy formula with his inimitable style and proved to the world he could be just as incredible in a drama, whether he's the good guy or bad. There will never be another like him. I'm just happy that he left us with a lifetime of greatness, we can appreciate forever.

Absolutely agree with where you put Robin Williams' performance as Mr. Keating. As wonderfully hilarious as his comedic roles were, Mr. Keating will always be my favorite. It's one of the most moving, honest performances I've ever seen and I think "Dead Poets Society" should be mandatory viewing for anyone who wants to be a teacher or a writer. Bravo, Mr. Williams.

I'm so so glad Will Ferrell got a mention for Stranger than Fiction. It's a very underrated movie and he perfectly fit the part. Unlike some comedic actors who venture into drama, you never see him as just a funny person while he plays the character. He was able to play an introverted and painfully ordinary everyman in the most believable way which he never comes across as in most of his comedic roles. Here's hoping to see more dramatic performances from him, although sadly there have been very few.

I honestly believe Robin Williams might be the greatest actor of all time. He was obviously amazing in comedies, but no comedian could do a serious role like he did. He also did creepy really well, like in One Hour Photo and Insomnia. Also, after seeing Good Will Hunting, he changed my goddamn life

That scene in Dead Poets Society when John Keating is sitting at Neil's desk and just cries is in my personal opinion the most powerful sad performance ever in the movies, you can see as if he was not even acting, it always moves me. Man with a passion who tried to pass it to younger generation, and that passion took a life of a boy. Robin Williams was truly amazing.

Secret Life of Walter Mitty is just a fantastic film. Taking away from Ben Stillers performance, the film offers everything that a great film should offer. ADD in Ben Stillers performance as an everyman who takes hold of his chance at an adventure to find himself on the road of discovery, in order to find a business associate who is lost in the north photographing wildlife, and is LIVING the dream of freedom, was nothing short of BRILLIANCE.

When I first got around to watching King Kong and being introduced to Jack Black in a dramatic role, my family and I had been talking about he was always known to be a funny man, which he is, but then another Watchmojo video led me to the idea that he was entirely miscast as Carl Denham, which maybe everyone`s concern. Although, he SEEMED miscast, he still put on a seriously good performance, nonetherless.

First cut's the deepest for me, plus, I haven't seen most of these. When I saw Mary Tyler Moore in "Ordinary People", (the first of all of these movies I had ever seen), I was shocked by her absolutely brutal performance in that movie. It was like a completely different actress from the one I knew. No indication whatsoever that she even knew what "comedy" meant. Not a single smile-evoking line emerged from her lips or her body language in that movie. absolutely brilliant.

The Truman show is such a quintessential Carrey performance. Should have been spotless mind in that spot. Also, Sandler in Punch drunk love should have at least taken the 2nd spot with his performance having so many overlooked aspects that he doesn't get enough credit for such as it being one of the most realistic portrayals of social anxiety and OCD ever shown on film. One of the greatest performances of this generation.
