    Wow, I can't thank you enough for recommending Meditation for Love of it! I had so many questions about meditation in the past as I struggled to discipline myself to keep a regular practice and this book just answered everything and I only just started reading it. How amazing.

    I find interesting that 72 Angels of Magick was into the top 5 but Goetia didn't make the cut (6th), even though I would asume Goetic spirits to be more efficient in more immediate tasks in a desert island, I mean I am not talking from personal experience, just thinking about what it is commonly said. Nice video as always Foolish Fish!

    @@FoolishFishBooks Agreed. I did a rite of passage one summer that culminated in a 4 day solo fast in Northern California, on native land. I set down near a running stream; it was like being on retreat: no technology, no alarm clock, no housewares, etc. It was deep, life-changing, work. Nature possesses undeniable and surprising magic, as well as a desire to share it.

    Solid reasoning and praxis focused; well done! I would appreciate your insight on something. I am doing a comparative analysis of some seminal sources on the Shem; a dozen or so categories, some emphasis on functions. As he himself states, Brand deviates significantly in his attribution of Psalms from all other sources, notably, Ambelain and Cicero & Cicero. Where there is deviation, the Psalms do seem to relate to established titles and functions. Ambelain includes he English and Latin but Brand's Hebrew pronunciation is certainly of use over here. How has Brand's Psalm designations met with your practice? Also, not having caught of glimpse of Damien's new work 'Angels..,', does he mention anything on Psalms? Thank you for your consideration; stay well, JZ

    I always love your videos, your so knowledgeable.. so... soooo... KNOWLEDGEABLE. And I am obsessed with your book collection🖤💮. That first book, the collected works of C.G. Jung on Psychology and Alchemy, as I can see it, it's volume 12, do I need to buy the previous volumes to understand the information inside the Psychology and Alchemy? Or I can have it and understand it on its own, like it has its own system? Because I don't have the budget to buy all the collected works of C.G. Jung😅. Blessed Be🖤💮.

They recently release the 3 volume Paperback edition. There are a few still available on Amazon, and other retailers. Is around $120. Stock is getting low, so now maybe your chance to add it to your collection. I picked up mine, and it is Amazing! Take care dude. PS. you should consider acquiring a twitter account.

    Again, very helpful. Of these 10 books, if a person is very new to the practice of magic (to date only having been performing the LBRP & LIRP, and some minimal mediation, and only for about 2 months so far), but is very serious about learning / practicing, which ONE of these books would you say is the best to start with? (Just in watching your video and reading the book descriptions, my first thought is Mysteria Magica. But I would love to hear your thought on the matter.)

  • @FoolishFishBooks

    @FoolishFishBooks

    I think you'd be put off by Mysteria Magica with no background. It asumes you know the Hebrew alphabet (at least, greek helps too!), it also assumes you have a well-established practice already. I would start with Duquette. 100% There isn't a signe other author that I would recommend more heartily than him. Echols may feel more interesting at first because he helps you get stuck in straight away, but "why things are the way they are" is not something he seems to care too much about. Duquette gives all this background in a humorous, easy to access way, which then makes it possible for you to decise if those reasons are good enough for you, and then tweak your practice in ways that don't break the system.

    I just came here to post about Bardon, specifically in regard to 'Practice of Magical Evocation's' stated functions of the 72; what are we supposed to make of that? It is so radically metaphysical (supernatural even) compared to other author's designations that I am unsure it is even useful... That in-and-of-itself does not detract from your stated point however !
