    I found myself a very creepy thing in wow. The other day I was wondering about the old classic zandalari tribe rep in the retail version of wow. I read that their headquarters was in an island near the Gurubashi arena, so I went there. To my surprise everyone was turned into stone, now, the creepy thing is that since an old update in wow, when you get near an NPC they’ll turn their head towards you, so if you go near the stone trolls, they’ll look at you in a very creepy way...

    So I found your comment and went straight to the island off the coast of Stranglethorn to Yojamba Isle, I can confirm that they are turned into stone and that their heads look at you when you're close enough. I think I found out WHY they were all frozen though, there's an elite mob in the middle of the Isle named Crystal Spine Matriarch, and some if not all races of basilisks can turn people to stone in the Warcraft Universe, so it seems that they were all frozen by a basilisk matriarch but if you look a little closer around the basilisk you can see trolls with axes, staves and a dagger, as if they were attempting to kill it before it froze them all. Though the trolls around the Isle (excluding the trolls around the basilisk) seem to just be minding their business as if they weren't aware of what was going on. Edit: Grammar

    Tilloa is an anagram for Lolita, Stalvan seems to be inspired by the story of the protagonist in the novel 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov, both characters share a lot of things, and the stories share a lot of elements and descriptions and even minor details, both are very creepy especially because both men believe they are not doing anything wrong or immoral

You can completely detach from it because it's just not possible to ever happen in real life. But, stories such as Stalvan have really happened in real life. Elliot Rogers is the big one that comes to mind, but there's a lot of others. Just knowing that something is real and being able to attach real feelings to it, makes it infinitely more creepy than some imaginary space creature.

    @@mushroomtip11 It's a trick many youtubers use to create engagement. You see the more people comment on a video, the more it rises in trending, and there is therefore a greater chance it will be recommended to more people. One of the best ways to make people comment is to mispronounce names and other things. Especially when talking about subjects from a fandom such as WoW. I've noticed it with others too, one example is Bellular. Also notice how Hiruma mentions how his old video don't really hold up to his standard, at the end of this video, which will most likely get a whole bunch of people to go watch that one to compare, and then comment on that video that it wasn't so bad after all. The same thing happened a couple of months ago with straw polls here on KZread. Someone discovered that the polls, if they were engaging, really made the channels rise in views. So the polls would often be about a very loaded subject, or ask the viewers to vote for some character, but intentionally leave out obvious choices so that angry fans would comment like crazy about how the maker of the poll had forgotten to include this or that character. It's all marketing.

I also remember reading that they were going to add a ship that brought players to Kul Tiras from Menethil Harbor. However as we all know now that wouldn't be added for 15 years

    Horrific Vision Stormwind is one of the best places to explore. One of the fabric stores in the trade disctrict at the canals has the lady that runs the store dead on the ground with her mouth stiched shut. There are a lot of small details like this sprinkled throughout all of the zones, you just have to look inside the buildings. The more you look, the more weird things you find.

    god, the story of stalvan mistmantle never fails to make my skin crawl. as a girl and a minor myself, it just brings up all the fears i have of adults looking at me like... that... or ending up being groomed by someone and not even noticing. it's such a real fear, so... just so paralyzing that one day i might have a stalvan. one day some adult man could potentially decide that I'm the most beautiful thing he's ever seen and when i tell him no... he just might get mad like stalvan and do something horrifying to me or people i love. the world is a horrifying place and this questline captured exactly that so perfectly. the voice you read it in just makes it creepier. blizz wrote that story and those quests so well, i just wish i didn't have to get on my classic toons to experience it for myself.

    The legend of Stalvan, along with the quests chains in Duskwood, are one of the best writing of quest chains in Vanilla WoW. Especially when you play this zone and take time to read the quest chain... 15 years ago. I remember it took me 3 full days to quest-travel-read the quests, and to finally become my personal favourite zone... Then, I mained Horde, and couldn’t get back to this quest... although the rewriting of Silverpine forest quest chain after the Cataclysm was the cherry on the cake in storytelling

    A kind of creepy thing is in exiles reach. You need to do a class quest for shamans (if you are a shaman) to talk to a ghost wolf. He will tell you his pack has been captured but first you need to burn a plant on the island. Once your burn the plants. After this you will see tons of human ghosts surrounding the camp. Their heads will always follow you. You can also find them near the other ghost wolfs. It is kind of unsettling and creepy.

    Awww, you missed one Easter Egg of the Karazhan Crypt. While not exactly in the "creepy" motif of the video, there's one part of it called "The Upside Down Sinners" which is a nod to the John Carpenter Film "Big Trouble in Little China" where one part of the film found the protagonists in an area called "Hell of the Upside Sinners". That's not the only Big Trouble in Little China Easter Egg in game either. The trinket "Six Demon Bag" is another direct nod to the movie since it's directly mentioned by another main character by having "Wind, Fire, All that kind of thing!", which is the flavor text on that trinket. The designers certainly liked that movie. As they should, it's a classic!

    The quests in Classic felt like it's a living (or unliving) world. Things are connected by story and travel. With new expansions that isn't doable since most of the zones are highly disconnected from the parts of the World we love (EK and Kalimdor). Yet sometimes like in Val'shara with the Gilneans they try to connect it again. Sadly the times of fresh world exploration in WoW are long gone... i wish they could learn from other games that exploration and gaps while leveling are a great choice. (refering to Genshin Impact) WoD was great because the zones were huge and had a lot to them with many open fields to explore.

  • @joshupew

    @joshupew

    3 жыл бұрын

    Agree mate! Really enjoyed playing Genshin Impact so far, just exploring, getting distracted by side activities and so on. There is a lot to do even without progressing the story, and it still feels meaningful and not like just a grind. Imo WoW zones should be a bit more spaced out and not every single inch of them should be covered in quests, hostile mobs and theme parky details. Yes BFA zones were neat and beautiful, but after doing them once you've seen every corner and there isn't much more to see, where as in Vanilla big parts of the zones are left untouched and free for the player to explore on their own. Also the travelling from place to place and random (sometimes very simple) side stories you uncover along the way add depth and scale to the world. Massive lore heavy linear questlines and expansions having a huge overarching theme and story kind of make me care less for the world, because it's like a roller coaster ride that you get thrilled about only once. I've gotten tired of every expansion and their zones so far, but EK and Kalimdor never seem lose their charm for me..!

They always move as pentagon shape. My friend said those are the children in Cathedral district in vision. Celebrating a sacrifice I think. Explosive sheeps - as you mentioned about those sheep's in Warcraft, we discovered who's behind it in wow legion. Arcane mage hidden skin quest senario we found who's been doing this. And we help sheep to avenge it. Glowing eyes - this is also my friend showed me. These eyes refering to a hidden hunter pet in game. A fox pet.

    When I did the quest with the buried humans in the sludge fields, there was no helpful popup text to show you your two options. Since right click is the typical interact button in WoW, I ended up smashing in all their heads assuming it was just how the quest was supposed to go. Morbid, but it's a Forsaken quest hub after all. Then at the end of the quest I found out that I'd had the option to dig them out... I still have the shovel it gave me as a reminder of what I did 😩 Edit: oh yeah, and shout out to the horror reference! there's a movie called Motel Hell from the 80's that involves a twisted family planting victims up to their necks in the ground to "grow" them for harvest :) worth a watch!
