I really have to thank you, I'm a Brazilian cosplayer, as many people here, i try to make my cosplays but the cosplayers never uses Eva foam or your materials, they also buy costumes, and that was making me sad, but when i discovered your channel, i make my first Eva foam cosplay, a mecha body, i felt so good and everyone in my team liked too, and now i can do whatever i imagine with it, so, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I totally second the "BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT" on fur (and leather) - I learned this the hard way - and this mostly made me the fabric hoarder that I am today. lol. But seriously, the fabric (fur) that I've bought years ago, I get to use on recent projects which veeeery convenient and lessens the stress. :)

One amazing sewing notion I've discovered in the past year is wonder tape. It's a double-sided water soluble tape that's very useful for aligning fabrics when sewing (such as zippers or appliques) since you just stick it down (rather than fighting pins for a long time). I used it when sewing a zipper this year and was like 'wow. how did it take me this long to try this thing out'. Def recommend if you're going to sew on a lot of detail pieces that would be tough to pin :D

Annie Chie since most of what I do is historical costuming (renfaire), I'm usually looking for handkerchief linen, cotton damask (in appropriate patterns - really hard to find!), cotton velveteen, and wool velvet (for late October outdoor events). Home dec warehouses are my friends! Long cuts, cheap prices if you know what to look for. Cut-down duct ties from Home Depot are great inexpensive bones for stays and bodices. Hemp cording, though heavy, is needed for certain styles of bodices and petticoats.

There's also pricking irons that pierce guide holes in the hide for easy hand stitching. Have you tried 'Spectra Chrome' for your mirrored metal effects?

WatashiwaJouhouDesu See one is custom tailoring to YOUR body, some is learning how to move in the costume. You may want a friend to help you make a duct tape double for the tailoring part...

I like pvc foam board like Sintra. Found out about it from the Mandalorian Mercs. Its awesome for making armour. I'm planning to try a full suit of renaissance plate armour with it.
