Great video! Now I want to re-immerse back into the hobby. At one time it would've been easier to say what fish I didn't have as compared to listing what I did have. I was nuts though. I had many tanks stocked with an Arowana, a pair of Datnioids, large Geophages and even a small Soft Shelled turtle in the group! My all male review of African Cichlids were housed is a 100 gallon tank and I treated them for parasites not realizing I needed to half dose them and killed all of them. I blamed the store where I bought 75% of the fish and the treatment from for not warning me...sad day but I think I'm coming back!

The more Vieja's the better

This is unlike any list I have seen! The Jaguar Cichlid, a.k.a. Pinta, is the only Psrschromis on the list not even Parachromis dovii, a.k.a. Dovii or Lagunero. Nor was there a Umbee or Besni or Grammodes. I wish there was some background as to the character trait of the species.

Haitiensis are my favorite. I have them in my fish room as well with fry I have trimacs and Hogaboomorum Amphilophus as well

H. Carpintis is not the Texas Cichlid but a smaller relative of it. H.Cyanoguttatus is the Texas Cichlid. And Trimaculatus that was eating the frog is actually a Flowerhorn.

H.carpintis is called commonly pearlscale Cichlid

@@atrillagaming7805 commonly and incorrectly it’s H.Carpintis is referenced to as the Lowland Cichlid, the Pearlscale Cichlid and the Blue Texas Cichlid ( because is blue/turquoise in color) and Texas Cichlid is commonly referred to as the Green Texas ( because is green in color ). And although they are loosely related the H.Carpintis is not by any means a Texas Cichlid and should not be referred to as such. It’s an entirely different species

I live in Texas , I catch these and eat them , we call then rio grande perch.

Um not the most accurate but cool list , looking for a new centerpiece cichlid and this helped

prefer vieja's more + hybrids types.
