Nice video, but 240p? In 2023? I had no idea that was even an option at this point, let alone a default. Why shoot such a great event in 240p? You can't see much of anything, because everything is so blurry.

They didn't care if you see anything at all they wanted to do was promote recharge. Those words the terms as far as if you wanted to win this small fake cup then you had to say you used recharge and you can be a first-time grower and have seated buds and you'll win a contest. Lmfao. It's just become legal in Minnesota, and I've started growing, and I've never loved doing something more than this. I never thought I could be so passionate about something as much as this. I can't wait to see what I can come up with and hopefully I can add some value to the grow community. There are so many brilliant cultivators always willing to give some tips and help out. I understand the passion these winners are portraying in this video. There's something spiritual about growing herb, and I love it. God bless everyone.

Fellow MN grower here as well. I’m currently on a 4 plant run. Skunk XL, and Special Kush 1. First time growing for me, but it is so addicting. Keeping it simple with happy frog soil, and general hydroponics nutrient trio. A little cal mag, epsom salt, and seaweed extract mixed in to properly PH’d water and the girls are looking great. Shout out every grower on here that went out of their way to show the breeder love.

on one hand, I appreciate that messing with genetics is a creative endeavor, which is awesome, but the fact that every trip to the dispensary (at least in Oregon) means you never have a consistent selection basis because every single time the available strains are completely different, is frustrating if you've found a specific strain that works best for you, but it doesn't stay available. The market doesn't deliver stability; I guess you have to grow/clone your own if you want stability.

Maybe you should contact a few growers and see if you can't get one to grow a plant of your strain for you. A plant generally averages nearly 1 lb a plant if grown from a good seed strain and you can always clone a mother if you want to keep it for years. There's talk on both points but I don't like keeping clones past the second season. IMO it genetically screws with the plant. I mean they are born to die in one season. ,y buddy took a clone and I started seeds a few years back of the same strain. He jumped way out ahead on growth but through the year the seed grown plants were much healthier and thicker buds. The clone stretched too much and the flowers just weren't as big. Yeah I get you can't go off a one year test plus we grow with a different techniques and feeding methods but clones are branches the seed produces the entire tree with bilateral growth and produce hormones lost in the cloning process. But either way the grower wants to handle it I would see if you can have your stash grown for you if you want the same strain for a long time. Or have him grow you two and your good for two years if you put a good cure on it and seal it tight and store it cool in a dark closet or a basement is good. It's just a thought. I would be willing to bet he turns you out a better product then what the dispensary is selling you. I'm on the other side of the country so I can't say how things go over there. Maybe get some seeds and give it a shot it's not that hard to grow something. It just takes time to be able to learn to grow something special. Good luck I know what you're saying about not getting the same thing everytime regardless to what they try to tell you. It gets frustrating

@@jeanponce2017 you must be talking about wet weight be indoor plants absolutely do not average a dry yield of 1 lb per plant. If they did that’s at minimum 4 lbs of wet bud per. I have never seen that in an indoor grow in 25 yrs

Even if you buy 3 seeds of the same genetics and grow them in exactly the same way often you'll get 3 quite different plants, it seems seed genetics is hit and miss of the 1000's of seed each plant produces no 2 are exactly the same.

Did anyone even notice that the 2nd place winner didn't use any hyped up voodoo magic. She said it's all organic soil and water. Imagine that she missed 1st place by 9 votes with composted organic soil and water. I've been growing like this for years it's no surprise to me. I've tried everything in the past and organic soil I composted myself the year before using live seaweed I took from the shore with some dried crab shells I grind up for calcium and the micro minerals and chiton mixed in with local plant life for natural resistance to local pest and mold then I dig live mycorrhizae out of wood chip piles I compost separately to grow mycorrhizae and the girls absolutely crush it with explosive growth. I do add more top dressing of straight ground up seaweed in flower for the potash and phosphorus and the salty ocean smell seems to help repel any insects that might spread mold spores and it keeps moisture up near the surface without any fungal issues being live seaweed is an anti microbial and it can be used for a foliar spray to repel insects as they just don't like the ocean scent. Congratulations to all the winners organic or not this takes passion and love for growing to grow something you think is worth entering. I wish I was closer to the west coast to enter something just to see if I could get anywhere on the list. I bet there's guys across the country who could enter some serious buds in these contests. I noticed the trend seems to be with the cherry fruity strains these last few years which is why I actually wanted to see the list of winners this season. So tired of smelling skunk everywhere I go.

Karma Cup used to be an event like this. Sadly the pandemic stopped the event for two years. Last year was the last year for the event l, which had growers from mostly the underground market who produced some amazing products. Since legalization has ramped up and alot of underground growers have stopped or gone to the legal market I guess Karma Cup had no choice to go that route. The event would have all kinds of vendors and a market where you could buy and sample. This year the event had no market and the only growers who were vendors were strictly from licensed producers. To be honest I miss the days when bud was still illegal. Although there is more variety out there the prices for top shelf weed on the legal market is just way too high. I guess nothing lasts forever.

Recharge is the truth! I’ve been using it with Emerald harvest and not a single issue.

This should headline with the inclusion of what state these strains are available in. Ie: A Hybrid GSE in Colorado is not the same GSE in Washington. And likewise with other states that have legalized cannabis. Until state to state opens then the 23 “top” strains are state specific which means you aren’t getting it anywhere else

I’ve read about how Sulpher added to soil gives cannabis a strong skunky aroma and flavor but also makes soil more acidic so you gotta balance it around 6.3 ph is good. That’s what I miss about weed, doesn’t have that overwhelming skunkiness anymore like at all !

What happened to original strains that comes from a seed no clones no crossbreed

I always get that budget pack at pure dispo here in michigan. The strains are randomized and the quality also varies massively. I've gotten some gas before (triangle mints, huge lush nugs with a beautiful dank odor and bristling with a crystal coating of trichomes) and complete reggie (OG, but seedy and stemmy af with tiny ass nugs). I should really stop being so cheap and just drop the extra money to consistently get good weed in my favorite strains.

@@Gokywildcats11 if youre also in michigan, try out pure dispo. They run great deals frequently. MKX or plats for carts often 9-13 for $100 deals. pure also has deals on flower quite often with mids being $30-70/oz and exotics from $90-140/oz. Edibles and dabs are pretty cheap there too.

Love all the work put into cannabis over the decades... But... The cannabis while strong...is also being shaved down more than I have ever seen before. Never used to be that way...so while the levels are high...a lot of it is shaved off to sell you...another product. I don't enjoy buying buds that have been heavily processed.

The scene today is flooded w pretty looking . Rock hard . Tasteless in comparison to the old genetics I've held. I got cuts of 1999 Blueberry . 1997 blackdomina. 2005 blue venom . And a old burnt rubber terp Afghani from the 80s . Nothing from today's lineup even holds a candle to my old cuts. The old stuff had direction.

@@REDNECKROOTS About twenty years ago I got a hold of some African OG strains. Grew them outside in 5 gallon pots...I had a nursery so it was easy. Well...spider mites showed up in full force...normally I would have to go into 'lab' mode. Nope...not for these guys...beat up the spider mites...grew right through it all. Ended up with pounds of quality old school buds. Love the genetics work...but the plants are pretty weak compared to the land race strains.
