    I was hoping you would include Biblioteca Vasconcelos, but great list nonetheless. I love that you included Liverpool Insurgentes. Liverpool Interlomas is also another modern gem.

    the first building has some airbnb options that allow you to stay at the building and you can use the pool and most of the amenities....I use to use its gym on the 1st floor but the have a residents only gym on the top floor Coyoacan is actually one of the 16 boroughs of mexico city with many neighborhoods making it up. I actually live in it so seeing one of the buildings is close to home I must go there soon thanks for the tip

    Hello Chris, thanks for the great content, keep it up! I think you'd like the "Casa Estudio Luis Barragán" although its contemporary architecture rather than modern, it's located right next to the Bosque de Chapultepec and its actually the only private house in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in Latin America, the house has been preserved in the same state as when Luis Barragán designed it and lived there plus all his belongings are still inside, I've personally never been there since I live in Michoacán but I would love to visit since I can only imagine pictures don't do it justice, if you plan to visit bear in mind you'll need to make a reservation in advance and only small groups can enter at once.

    Great recommendation! I've definitely been wanting to go; the ironic part is that Casa Barragán is located right next to Fernando Romero's studio on Gral. Francisco Ramírez, who is one of the architects featured in the video :)

    I would say it's the other way around. Barragán's house is modern. It's the mexican interpretation of the post war "modern" architectural movement but it's not contemporary (from the present times) as the examples in this video.

    ‘Modernity’ in architecture means something different and more specific than what you showed in this video. It refers to the architecture built between 1930 - 1970

  • @ChrisMarciano

    @ChrisMarciano

    2 жыл бұрын

    That’s true! I definitely recall that categorization from architecture school. These examples would be considered more “contemporary” architecture. I just find that in practice “modern” is more commonly how non-architects would refer to these buildings, so that is how I am choosing to refer to them here.
