Auntie Beaty with Maureen Lipman, for British Telecom, were funny. Mum's favourite was the one with a pre One Foot in the Grave actor Richard Wilson. Beaty was asking have you got it in this colour or that, what about this size or that? After giving him the run around she asks him if he's got all the colours? A frustrated Richard Wilson says that he's got All the colours in All the sizes! To which Beaty replies with, its not what you call the rage then is it? At which point you see RW in the shop about to beat up a manikin. There were quite a few of them, as well as a fair few Carling Black Label ones too.

The woman are so feminine, the 80's 90's so sweet, men clean shaven, kind, caring, real gentlemen. Growing up back then was so much fun everyone go along, people could take a joke and people were not serious it was simple. You didn't need a lot of money to have a good time. Technology has destroyed us socially. Feels like a different world. People are so aggressive nowadays.

I am looking to identify an old 80s add .haven't much info but it was popular .it was of some kind of creature sitting at a table and began by saying fred is having some friends over for dinner . I think then he said something about showing some antiques .these.may have been knives and forks .I know there is one like this on smash potatoes with aliens .I'm not sure if this is smash to but it didn't have tin spacemen. I think the name was fred and it said he is entertaining for dinner.more like a meercat or something. I'd guess mid 80s and very popular regards times on

There are no descent adverts to talk about nowadays... they are just easily forgettable. Back in the 80s we only had 4 channels so pretty much everyone was watching them and sometimes the ads were better than the TV programmes. Now we have a hundered plus channels on freeview (a lot of those ads cost 10 pence to make). Also very few of us are watching live TV nowadays anyway. We're all watching catch up or subscription TV. The golden age of ads are well and truly over.
