You should have included the epic brawl between the Quebec Nordiques and Montreal Canadiens from the 1984 playoffs. The brawl started at the end of the 2nd period, took almost 10 minutes to get clubs apart. They resumed the brawl as they took the ice to warm up for the 3rd period. It got so bad that the refs sent the teams back to the locker room.

Canada vs Soviet Union at the 1987 World Junior Championship should have been the number one. The fights were getting so out of hands that they decided to close the lights in the arena. But once in the dark, it became even more violent. They call the game the Punch-up in Piestany

As a lifelong Red Wings fan, March 27, 1997 is the greatest (excluding Finals) game I've ever seen. Watching it unfold was glorious. Heated rivals, brawls everywhere, a bloodied Patrick Roy, McCarty making Lemieux go turtle, Mike Vernon dropping the gloves, and turning a 5-3 defecit into a 6-5 OT victory. It was the game that propelled the Red Wings to a dynasty, and Hollywood couldn't have produced a more thrilling spectacle...
