@JamanAmad-ui2sh Hard to believe that the largest Cruise 🛳 Ship now can carry over 6000 to 7000 Passengers and some 2,500 to 3,000 Crew! If a disaster were to hit now, how many would be Surely Lost 😢 The Cruise 🛳 Lines are just squeezing as many Lives on board as possible to make Profits at the Passengers expense! So, so sad 😞 😔 It is inevitable that it will happen given enough time ⏲️ 🔉 🌊 🚢

The biggest ship ever built by man is like a pine needle floating in a lake. If you want to relax in a hotel like environment by the sea, then stay at a hotel on land by the sea. Otherwise accept that the ocean does not care how much money you spent on your cruise, if it wants to toss you around like a rag doll, it will whenever it wants.

Also If the winds get high enough that will blow the ship all over the ocean..One cruise I was on the wind fought the ship so much they had to add an extra day to the cruise 😂. The ship constantly swayed back and forth. We were advised to not go out on the balcony of our room that we paid extra for. In fear you might fall off. That really sucked because you have to pay more for the balcony rooms 😒. The ship sold out of motion sickness pills 😂..People took their plates of food to their rooms and you could see spilled drinks everywhere. It was fun watching the drunk people crawling on the floor because even the sober people were struggling to stand upright 😂. I kept hearing people talking to God. I made the people we were around laugh when I asked them "Ok, which one of you really pissed the man upstairs off 😂? Does everyone remember their muster station?

Had the pleasure of being on one of the Princess Line's mega boats as it travelled down the eastern coast of New Zealand's sth island just before Covid, when we hit Force 10 gales and 30' waves. Probably the worst sleep I've ever had because my head, which faced the bow of the ship, kept smashing in to the bed head everytime it hit a massive wave! Feeling a massive ship come to a dead stop because of a wave and then start moving fwd again was amazing. Thankfully we were never out of sight of the coast so it did give some semblance of it will all be OK.

1:28, 2:36, and 3:28 all the same day, same ship, and this was a highly unusual situation because that ship had completely lost power, so there were no propellers or stabilizers to attenuate the movement, it was just bobbing around in high seas like a piece of cork in the ocean. A normal funtioning ship would not move so radically even in very high seas.

They are very well designed to do so. Like airplane disasters and other ship disasters like Titanic, lessons have and will be learned. Every disaster brings about new and better designs that are integrated into future construction of these vessels. The only problem I have with the many videos of Cruise ships getting caught up in violent storms, I can't understand that they still have unsecured furniture flying around in a storm. Surely they can come with designs that can secure furniture in the event of an approaching storm. They could easily move most of it to a temporary secure area where it could be held in place. For example, have rings on the furniture and build in steel rings against the interior walls of the ship where the furniture could be moved to the side and be tied up till the storm passes. And look at the video here where they have glasses and other cutlery on the dining tables. They should have been removed beforehand. The crew have very advanced warning systems of approaching storms, and yet they leave all this stuff on the dining tables. That's ridiculous that this wasn't addressed beforehand.

This is how... Psalm 107:23-31 KJV "They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Because GOD is, and GOD is Good! :)

My wife and I were on an Atlantic crossing from Southampton to New York in 2015. We ran into some pretty extreme weather, 110 knot winds in a Force 13 gale. The ship was down to 5 knots and was actually quite comfortable for us and we enjoyed the thrill of it as we have both been on boats most of our lives. Unfortunately, a lot of passengers were ill and fairly scared which was a shame for them. However, we came out of it without any problems that I am aware of. I took some movie footage of the swells spraying up from the bow as it dipped down into them and also the rolling of the ship, looking at the horizon through the side windows.

In 2001, our Norwegian North American Cruise hit rough seas when enroute to Boston. The captain had to go further out to sea to avoid the rocky coastline. It wasn’t quite as bad as this video but the ship was really rocking. Dishes were falling in the kitchen while my husband and I ate dinner by the window in a near empty dining room. We had to eat with one hand while holding our wine glasses. He held the bottle between his knee. We don’t get seasick but many were in bad shape. It was quite an experience.

I was on a cruise with Royal Caribbean before the large class ships like the Navigator of the Seas and we sailed around the outer edge of a Cat 1 hurricane and the ship rocked a bit during the night and the passengers were still dancing while the ship was swaying, but it wasn't severe because everyone still had the ability to remain standing without falling down. Typically if a major storm is on the ships heading the cruise will be canceled. If during a cruise and an impending storm can be avoided, the captain will alter course.

Crossed the Atlantic on the QE2, went thru a storm and lots of folks were seasick and the docs were running around with their little needle bags, what I noted was that the champagne in my glass wasn't spilling, the Q pitched a lot but didn't roll, and this olde destroyer sailor kind of viewed it as a trip across NY harbor. I could feel the ship trying to roll but the stabilizers immediately cut in and stopped it rather abruptly, to me a gentle roll is more comfortable. The storm was worse in both of the inside swimming pools that were closed but not drained of water (these are actually below sea level). The deck pools were empty. (good idea, don't need weight that high up). On my destroyed all the tables were welded to the deck and the chairs had hooks on to connect to the table and the table had fiddles to keep the dishes on, the wardroom had no tablecloths (oh! the sacrifices we made). There is no excuse for furniture rolling around the deck, today weather is not a surprise, you know it's coming, round up all the loose stuff and tie it off in a corner (there should be enough chairs and tables that are securely mounted and there should be mountings for extra 'storm' railings kept in storage for such occasions) , retail areas should tidy up their displays based on prior experience, and the ship's show should skip the dancers, make it a movie doubleheader. By the way, about the deck chairs on the Titanic, when crossing the north Atlantic in a liner that makes 20+ knots of wind on its own, nobody in their right mind is on deck, it will blow your wig off. Not much sun or good weather out there anyhow.
