my guy. Are you deaf. His vocal control was so bad. You could here a bit of pitchyness. And the way he brought the vibrato in was horrid. He didn’t even sound that much like Sam Smith. If anything. The 3rd guy was A KING. The high note he hit was spot on, and besides the small breathy vocal at the end that was a bit off, the rest of the song was beautiful. And MUCH much better than the first man. Get you some hearing aids fam

If you naturally sounds like him or even just trying to sound like him, then taking you in the competition is a huge risk. You can't have 2 Sam Smiths and expect the second one to do good.

They got that version from the group Third Story who is unbelievably good.
There's not a lot of ppl covering sam smith's songs cuz they're not trained enough. Sam's registers are smooth like butter. You know like a piano doesn't break going from low to highest? That's sam. And that's what u have to be to sing Sam's songs. None of these covers were as good as other songs ppl have covered from other artists. Sam will forever be a model to all aspiring vocalists. That's where your vocal coach wants you to be.

Like literally!!
I think Philippines' voice competitions are mostly the real genuine voices of the competitors. That's because i think they don't use any software(Auto-tune i'm talking to you) that affects the voice of the contestant. Correct me if i'm wrong.
The last two performances were on a whole other level

Man the first guy had an amazing voice! What a shame. Seriously, Boy George needs to get over himself. Kelly had every right to put him in his place.
I can't explain it, I might not fully understand it but that kind of Cajun kick to the song on the last one really just resonated with me. I enjoyed it very much and his halfway child like expressions just fit so well to his style and the way he sings. Loved it. Maybe it's got something to do with me loving blues.
