Everyone here is amazing. I hate the term "best in the world." As if every dancer in the world has been found, checked out and seen. Somewhere there as a kid dancing that doesn't have the money, opportunity, support or maybe confidence for a worldwide stage. He or she may really be the best in the world.

Totally agree! He was not only one of the most creative and influential Poppers, when I see all the ten of this list he would have beaten everyone of them for certain! Actually a sad thought that there hasn't been that much of a development! I haven't been surprised by new steps or techniques for a long time! Locking back in the 70’s was a art form... starting with “The lockers” ( camel-lock ) tony go go.. fluky Luke... re-run funky pang-wen.. Shabba “ Scooby-do” slim the robot.. Brother OG'S will always be remembered because of them we are able to see such variety in today's era ! But you also need to accept that with time everything changes and so does our dance culture , we still stick to roots and always look for foundation bt today's people will add there own flavour to popping , locking & breaking ! Imma get real here. Poppin John was the one who inspired me into dancing. I really liked hiss animation style and started learning all the waves, robots and shit. I have no clue about popping or Hip Hop or even the history of dance. By the time I met real street dancers(hip hop, popping, locking etc), that's when I realise I know nothing at all. And now looking back at Poppin John, I still think he is one of the greatest in animation style especially his control in robot and his incredible waves and isolation and also those Godly glides. But to be honest(maybe it's because I'm more into battle now), if you notice, he is mostly off beat when he pops hard(his dime stops are on point tho). Comparing him to Scott, I personally think Scott have more creativity and more 'dance' in his style. John's movement are too repetitive, although it was super sick. I kinda get bored watching him. Well he is still one of the greatest and a living legend, gotta respect that.

The strongest point of hoan is how he expresses the music with his pops and movements but the music is muted? And why people so mad for poppin john? @EZE THE GREAT I hear you on the new skoolers especially Greenteck. Greenteck has it going off in droves. What you have to remember is that without the likes of the old skoolers ie Mr Wiggles, poppin Tacos, Flat top etc there would be no Hoans, Salahs Greentecks etc. Some of these new kids are pretty amazing but a lot of them ARE very generic.

@WorldChaliceBoi just watched videos of Blondy and you have got to be kidding me he is alright but has nothing on Poppin John personally I prefer Marques Nonstop over everyone but Poppin John is close. They don't compete because they don't need to make a name for themselves, been there done that, now they get paid! Guaranteed you ask any of the dancers you named the would give John the respect he has earned. Stop hating!

Yes and no: Popping is the mixture of locking and the robot. Every locking or popping (or any dancing, for that matter) is interpreting the music with miming.

For each Popping dancer I see featured in this TOP 10; I am trying to guess if all of them have had Ballet or any Dance class as their experience prior dancing to this style in front of people. I can see them popping to the downbeat and drops

Visually I think the person that glides around on the floor looks more stunning, say doing a forward moon walk.. or just moving around the dance floor in robotic motion visually looks more stunning. Staying in one spot popping loses the magic... gotta glide around dance floor. But first dude looks slick.

Those performances were cool and that was some great dancing of course the selection is your personable oponion and you are correct from that aspect however I really don't either one of those performers would be a match for many of the top members of "Dragon House" NonStop, Popping John, Blueprint, Andre Rucker, Cordoro, or J Code to name a few but I enjoyed the video

Put any of those performers you named and they won't survive in a 1 on 1 competition. They'll get eaten. Popping became famous because of these competitions. Look up BBOY Championship popping. Those are true legends of popping. Only reason why you are able to watch Popping John and the like on the Ellen Show is because of them. Know your history son. Salah is the GOAT.

A lot of ignorance in this comment sections. Those are all great dancers. If you don't dance you just can't understand how good they are, that's normal. Also, Popping John it's good but it's kinda like comparing Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, they do different things. Man that jaygee round was so good, my knees hurted just by watching his legs
