I’ve read about the bomb that is 1988’s _Carrie: The Musical,_ so I’d like to see the 2012 off-Broadway remake.

In WHAT REALITY is Grease only an honorable mention?!??

"Grease" didn't even make the list?! It's practically THE original high school musical.

@@crazedmom23 The “agenda” Lololol. It’s corny, half the music is meh, it has both serious dead spots and cringe moments. Grease has always had ppl who didn’t like and even larger group who thinks it’s overrated. It was a huge hit bc it cash in a huge 50s revival at its time. It will always have fans but it isn’t going to keep the appeal it had 3-4 decades ago. Once again, an ok musical that can be fun in the right hands, that’s the agenda, ppl.

I love how both the "Heathers" and "Mean Girls" musical feature Barrett Wilbert Weed as an outcast in a school with a trio of popular girls, and that she actually ends up joining them in the former instance! 😂💙

I'm so excited for "Mean Girls: The Musical Movie" to hit our screens, and I can't wait to see the cast for this new version.

i"m just saying that be more chill gets a lot of hype but heathers is just overall a better musical due to the music and the acting and all the components of a good musical, whereas be more chill misses a couple. just saying this so the haters don't attack me.

I agree with you on Grease, I mean come on, it was the high school musical to make all high school musicals! But West Side Story isn't about high school, it's a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet centered around rival gangs in 1961 NYC. They may be high school age gangs, but they're not focused on anything about high school beyond the leads meeting at a dance in the gym. Lastly, High School Musical is a DCOM, not a Broadway musical and this list is only about Broadway musicals.

Alrighty.... Be More Chill, Mean Girls, and 21 Chrump Street should NOT have been on the list. Heather's maybe, it was okay in my opinion but I see that it's popular and people like it. The Prom should have been higher on the list in my opinion. We Are The Tigers, Grease, Bare: a Popera, and High School Musical, should have been on the list. My opinion tho.

The title is Top 10 musicals about High School! And obviously, HSM would be on the list! But why???

I don't agree with this list at all! Grease is the all time classic high school musical and it gets HONORABLE MENTION!?!

My favourite high school (secondary school if you're from the UK 🇬🇧) musical is Heather's and three favourite songs are beautiful, candy store and dead girl walking

Beautiful is objectively the best opening song of any musical and even if you like the movie better, the opening is better in the musical, change my mind.

Carrie it’s freaking amazing, but it kind of sucks that I was grooving for a minute and then suddenly remembered the accusations against Alice Ripey and now I’m sad.

It's Alice Ripley and she played Margaret in the regional cast. She was accused of grooming teenagers. I don't see how that applies any implications to Carrie or any other actors in that or any other production.

I don’t agree with this list. Grease and Mean Girls should have switched places, and The Prom, one of my top 5 musicals, should have been higher, probably in the top 5.

In what universe Be More Chill is superior to Heathers? All the others up in the list are ok... but I really can't get behind that specific ranking. Mayvbe the plote of me more chill is a little bit more fresh and the flashy tech aspects of the production maybe are more drawing than the 80's typical high school, but it only has two good and memorable song at best. Heathers is a beast on terms of musical composition and interpretation of all of its ensambles... so no... Be More Chill has no bussines in a higher place than Heathers.

@@estrellaberrocalbernales9122 I am going to have to disagree, Dear Evan Hansen is pretty good, but I would have placed them below both Heathers and Mean Girls. DEH is a great production and almost all the songs are pretty memorable, but the subject is a bit convoluted and hard to swallow, they did a great effort with it, an amazing job given the circumstances, but it doesn't have the same appeal as a b-list cult horror comedy turned musical like heathers or the cultural milestone that is mean girls.

I’m torn between being happy Bare is getting some recognition and being disappointed that they decided to go with the musical vs the far superior original pop opera

Going to be honest the one thing I don’t like is the Carrie musical, who even thought of that?

I was on board until Be More Chill. I just can't get behind that show.

I used to be like a super fan of that show. And. It’ll always hold a place in my heart. But. God. It’s so. Off the rails. And not in a good way. And the lyrics are kinda not good. Like. There’s so many less cringe options.

Mean girls the mysical did not live up to the legacy of the original movie. It was just so lacking in the wit and cleverness of the writing, it just felt a bit shallow and just bagged on it being based on a cult classic movie. Mean girls the musical did not deserve to be on this list, number 1 at that... lmao I already from long ago this channel has no taste, what was I even expecting?
