There have been worse ideas than to sequel-ize Léon: The Professional with Mathilda: The Professional. The one big hurdle is that would kinda sorta undermine the original ending. She had no blood on her hands, so she at least has a chance to lead a blameless life. Maybe she could do the Dexter thang and assassinate other assassins only.

If it listed movies like Black Widow & garbage Gunpowder Milkshake, why don't they just add recent movies like Kate, Protege, Anna, Ava and all. Those are okay too compared to those two.

I just saw Kate. It's a badass movie and deserves a spot in this list.

Anna, Kate, Kite, Elektra, The Villainess could be honorable mention or a 2nd list

‘Black Widow’ is alright, but the fight scene with MCU Taskmaster was a disappointment.

Honestly it's like what fight scene. They had a little scrap in the beginning which was a nice teaser of what's to come and shows how much of a threat TM is to BW. And then nothing.

I missed River Tam from Serenity.

My favorite is definitely Atomic Blonde, It has everything I want from a spy movie - great cast, very interesting and mysterious plot, suitable time setting (during the Cold War) and one of The Best one take fighting scenes ever, I highly recommend this movie if you like spy/mystery movies like me.

I agree 100%!! I loved Theron in this! Also saw a film on her training with the stuntmen for the film...their exhaustion in the film while fighting was real, they trained all the time and really threw themselves into it. The stuntmen said she was the first actress who ever committed to training like she did, which was why there were long takes, they didn't have to continually cut away to fill in places she couldn't do. She was on it! I thought the story was good too.

This is disappointing,THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT should be in the top 3 of this list. It's better than most of movies listed here

Thanks for including Gunpowder Milkshake on this list. I absolutely loved it. I am not sure why the reviews were so negative. Granted, it had a lot of clichés and tried a little too hard to be Kill Bill with guns but that doesn't make it a bad movie by any stretch. I think most people can't comprehend tongue-in-cheek dark humor.

Are you serious? I just watched it now and thought it's literally one of the worst movies I've seen. Many absolutely ridiculous parts in it and the script and acting isn't anywhere near covering it

Great list! Probably not the best but I also enjoyed Aeon Flux, Anna, Ava, Naked Weapon, Red Sparrow, The Old Guard, Ultraviolet, Mr & Mrs Smith and more recently Kate and The Protege.

House of Flying Daggers was beautiful. I've watched it several times. The music, scenery, fight scenes, costumes, and performances are outstanding!

I have no idea how Long Kiss Goodnight didn't make but Colombia did. It absolutely boggles my mind!

Agreed The Long Kiss Goodnight is way better than Colombiana.

Nikita is one of Luc Besson's best movies, it even helped inspire Leon: The Professional with Jean Reno's role as Victor the cleaner.

Would love to see a list of female VIGILANTE movies aka The Brave One, Peppermint, Everly, A Vigilante (Olivia Wilde) …etc…

Do you maybe know a name of a movie maybe from mid 90s or early 2000s. It's about blonde girl who are a soldier/ cop who was shot in head by her boyfriend because she declined to work for his rogue criminal group. She has a bullet in her head that couses headache, blury vision and unconsciousness. She refuses to go on operation until she sucsseed in her revenge. She is great marksmen and fighter. Yeah almost forgot about Peppermint and I agree that should be on this list. Jennifer Gardners physic in that movie is closest to a real woman fighter amongst these movies.

The Long Kiss Goodnight is in my top three the only movie where there's a man Damsel in Distress

The Jessica Chastain movie “Ava”, should also be somewhere on this list. It’s an interesting character study of a conflicted assassin from a dysfunctional family. At times funny, but also full of action and Mayham.

Loved that one! It was beautifully cast and a great deal of fun to watch.

Long Kiss Goodnight is very much under appreciated. I would even take off Atomic Blonde and replace it with this film. So many movies stole it’s premise, like the fore mentioned film, Bourne Identity series, etc. Definitely before it’s time and is in my top 3 Female Assassin films of all time.

Need to add 2021 Kate. Surprisingly good

Columbiana is an outstanding action movie. Salt is an outstanding spy thriller. Gunpowder Milkshake as already on my watch list, as is Black Widow, but BW is much lower down. Atomic Blond was a really lovable retro style spy yarn. Hanna was a borderline SF story that left me wanting a sequel, which the TV series didn't really properly satisfy. House of Flying Daggers is best described as an Art House take on a Kung Fu movie, quite enjoyable. While watching your video, I was wondering if you were going to leave out the 'mother of all female assassin movies', Nikita, and I was very pleased to see it was the original French version that made it to your list. While I know that Beatrice in KB is technically a female assassin, I'm not sure I would categorise KB as a classic female assassin film; loved it though. This is not a complete list and there are many others that would vie for positions on it such as: Ava, Anna, Léon, Long Kiss Goodnight, Wanted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Naked Weapon, The Protégé, Shadowboxer, Æon Flux which stand the test of time, and the now quite dated Elektra. TV also has Killing Eve, which is immensely good.

I rewatch Salt so many time that I doubt every time when some people say that there aren’t any strong female character.

100% agree with number 1!! The 1st part is the greatest action film of all time next to Terminator 2

Atomic Blonde is my favorite of these mainly because of Charlize Theron and the more realistic fight scenes. Watched Kate last night and kind of liked it. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was a pretty good ass kicker. A lot of the plot lines in these films are predictable.

I just came to see The Bride at number 1.

"Gunpowder Milkshake" is underrated , loved it when i watched it in Netflix.

Ashin, from Kingdom: Ashin Of The North. She not only assassinates quite a few folks on her own, she unleashes a zombie apocalypse to wipe out everyone. It's from South Korea, the prequel to the tv series Kingdom that follows the zombie outbreak in the 1600s during a feudal war after the events of the movie.

A brilliant film you left from the list is Haywire.

When I saw the name of this list the first movie that came to mind for me was "Point of No Return" with Bridget Fonda. I know it's technically the Nakita remake, but I always loved it. Probably cause at the time I was pretty hot on her, lol.

I personally love black widow although it should’ve come out just after Civil War . I really enjoyed it .and specially Florence Pugh was to stand out .can’t wait to see you again in Hawkeye tv series. If I had one grape it probably be Ray Winston Although I do enjoy him in pretty much every film his accent is terrible

2019's Anna starring Sasha Luss, Luke Evans and Helen Mirren. Luc Besson directed it, you probably know his other female assassin movies Lucy and La Femme Nikita, he also directed The 5th Element with Milla Jovovich who went on to be quite the female unaliver in the Resident Evil live action movie franchise.

Jane smith from mr and Mrs smith. Was the first favorite female assassin I seen in a movie as a kid. But lately it is Agent Lorraine and Dalpine from Atomic Blondie But really I do not have favors I just enjoy all and any assassins in films no matter the gender or looks.
